A Survey on Joint Object Detection and Pose Estimation using Monocular Vision

    Get PDF
In this survey we present a complete landscape of joint object detection and pose estimation methods that use monocular vision. Descriptions of traditional approaches that involve descriptors or models and various estimation methods have been provided. These descriptors or models include chordiograms, shape-aware deformable parts model, bag of boundaries, distance transform templates, natural 3D markers and facet features whereas the estimation methods include iterative clustering estimation, probabilistic networks and iterative genetic matching. Hybrid approaches that use handcrafted feature extraction followed by estimation by deep learning methods have been outlined. We have investigated and compared, wherever possible, pure deep learning based approaches (single stage and multi stage) for this problem. Comprehensive details of the various accuracy measures and metrics have been illustrated. For the purpose of giving a clear overview, the characteristics of relevant datasets are discussed. The trends that prevailed from the infancy of this problem until now have also been highlighted.Comment: Accepted at the International Joint Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CCVPR) 201

Production of a KK-graviton and a Vector Boson in ADD Model via Gluon fusion

In the models with large extra-dimensions, we examine the production of a vector boson (\gamma / Z) in association with the Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes of the graviton via gluon fusion. At the leading order, the process takes place through quark-loop box and triangle diagrams and it is ultraviolate finite. We report the results for the LHC. We also discuss the issues of anomaly and decoupling of heavy quarks in the amplitude.Comment: 12 pages, 8 figures, some references and a note in the appendix adde

Electromagnetic Form Factors and the Localization of Quark Orbital Angular Momentum in the Proton

A new picture is given of generalized parton distributions probed in experiments in which the probe scale Q2Q^{2} and the momentum transfer \DD^{2} are well separated. Application of this picture to the Q2Q^{2} dependence of the form factors F1,F2F_{1}, F_{2} shows that gauge invariant quark orbital angular momentum can be measured and indeed {\it localized} in the transverse profile of the proton. A previous prediction that Q2F2(Q2)/F1(Q2)∼const.\sqrt{Q^{2}}F_{2}(Q^{2})/F_{1}(Q^{2}) \sim const. is generalized to GPD language. This prediction appears to have been confirmed by recent CEBAF data.Comment: 6 pages, 1 figure. The Transverse Quark Distribution and Proton Electromagnetic Form Factors in Skew Distribution Formalism

Skew density matrices can be diagonalized to yield probability interpretation. The power-counting prediction of perturbative QCD is found consistent with recent CEBAF data on F2(Q2)/F1(Q2)F_2(Q^2)/F_1(Q^2)Comment: 4 pages, Presented May 23, 2000 by John Ralston.
