The transformation of Rhoni Paige: accepting the value of education
This creative project was an opportunity to highlight the value of education and its
transformative power in my life. It was also a place where I was able to frame and shape the
narrative surrounding Black women who struggle, but eventually find their own self-worth in the
university setting. Viewers of this autoethnographic documentary will learn my journey and
realize the impact that education has had on shaping my values. They will also see how
education and the educational environment provided me with great opportunities to build
relationships, learn new things, and gain a greater self-awareness to shape my own narrative of
how society views me. I am Rhoni Paige, and this is my journey.Honors Colleg

The ethnographies represent the community through the participants' eyes. In this immersive learning opportunity, Ball State University's Ross Immersive Learning Team (JOUR-302 Diversity and Media course) partnered with the Ross Community Center and Muncie Community Residents to create visual ethnographies and engage the community with photography
