Rohstoffsicherungsbericht Niedersachsen 1993

Der Rohstoffsicherungsbericht 1993 befasst sich in seinem ersten Teil mit einer hochaktuellen Thematik des Rohstoffbedarfs fuer den Wohnungsbau. Daran schliesst sich eine Untersuchung ueber den Ersatz natuerlicher Rohstoffe durch Bauschutt und Strassenaufbruch an. Im Mittelpunkt des Berichts stehen die neuesten rohstoffwirtschaftlichen Untersuchungsergebnisse fuer Niedersachsen: Produktion, Verbrauch, Substitution, Recycling sowie die wichtigsten Probleme beim Abbau oberflaechennaher Rohstoffe. Es werden ferner Zusammenhaenge untersucht, die sich in einem grenznahen Raum durch den Aufschluss von Lagerstaetten beiderseits der Grenze ergen. Zur Erlaeuterung der Grundlagen und Arbeitsmethoden wird die Herstellung einer Karte oberflaechennaher Lagerstaetten beschrieben. Der Bericht zeigt Einfluesse auf, die von einer verstaerkten Bautaetigkeit und von dem Zusammenwachsen der Wirtschaftsraeume im Zuge der deutschen Einigung ausgegangen sind. So hat u.a. der Verbrauch and Sand, Kies, Ziegeln und Kalk seit 1988 um jeweils 10-15% zugenommen. Im gleichen Umfange ist auch der auf der Nutzung von Helmstedter Braunkohle beruhende Stromabsatz in die neuen Bundeslaender gestiegen. (orig.)The raw material conservation report 1993 goes in the first part into a subject of topical importance, the material demand for housing. This is followed by an analysis about the replacement of natural raw materials by rubble and old paving material. Last analysis results of the raw material economy of Lower Saxony are in the focus of the report: production, consumption, substitution, recycling as well as the most important problems in the exploitation of surface-near raw materials. Moreover connections are gone into resulting in border areas from the exploration of deposits on both sides of the border. For the explanation of bases of working methods the drawing up of a map of surface-near deposits is described. The report shows impacts resulting from increased building and the growing together of economic areas in the course of the German unification. One result is the since 1988 increased consumption of sand, gravel, tiles and lime by 10 to 15%. Also the power demand based on the use of Helmstedt brown coal has increased to the same extent in the new Federal States. Deutsches Kontinentales Reflexionsseismisches Programm (DEKORP) Schlussbericht 01.07.1987-31.12.1993

During four campaigns from 1987 - 1990 deep reflection seismic profiling has been carried out along ca. 925 km. The so called Integrated Seismic Experiment Oberpfalz (ISO89) included a 3D reflection seismic survey of the surroundings of the KTB deep borehole and a series of seismic experiments. The major objectives were the Variscan orogenic processes and the causes of the crustal seismic reflections. In cooperation with the ECORS-group two profiles have been recorded crossing the Upper Rhine graben and its shoulders. Various developments have been pursued to improve recording, processing and interpreting crustal reflections.
