    Cervical cancer is one of the main causes of cancer death in women around the world today. Among gynecologic Malignant tumors, cancer of the uterine cervix is ​​still ranked first in Indonesia and is a cause of death for Indonesian women. Cervical cancer is caused by infection with the HPV virus (Human Pappiloma Virus). The onset of this cancer occurs because most women do not want to do an early detection check with pap smears. Women do not want to be examined because of ignorance, fear, shame and economic factors. This is generally due to the low level of knowledge of the Indonesian population who do not understand the importance of pap smears. Pap smear examination is an attempt to take fluid from the vagina to see cell abnormalities around the cervix. Through pap smear examination, the precancerous stage until the cancer can be detected so as to allow treatment quickly and precisely. This study aims to determine the relationship of maternal knowledge about early detection of cervical cancer with pap smear examination in Obgyn Poly Hospital H. Adam Medan Hospital. This type of research is descriptive correlative with cross sectional approach. The population of the study were 71 mothers who visited poly obgyn as many as 71 mothers and a total sample of 60 mothers were taken by purposive sampling. Data collection was done using questionnaires and observations, then the research data was analyzed by chi-square statistical test value p = 0.05. Based on the results of data analysis it is known that there is a relationship between maternal knowledge about early detection of cervical cancer with pap smear examination and p value = 0.000 <0.05. Therefore, it is recommended for mothers who have not done pap smears to find information about pap smears from the media that have been provided from the government and actively participate in counseling especially about women\u27s reproductive health

    Pengaruh Teknik Back Massage (Masase Punggung) Terhadap Penurunan Intensitas Nyeri Pada Pasien Post Operasi Appendiksitis Di RSU Royal Prima Medan 2018

    Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience due to actual and potential tissue damage. One of the non-pharmacological therapies to deal with pain is the back massage technique. The technique can reduce the intensity of pain in postoperative appendicitis patients so that the therapy can provide comfort for the patient. This study aims to explore the effect of back massage technique on reducing pain intensity in patients with postoperative appendicitis. This type of research is pre-experimental using a one-group pre-post design test. The research population included 13 patients postoperative appendicitis at Royal Prima Hospital Medan in 2018. The research samples were drawn by using the Accidental Sampling technique. The research was conducted on March 2018 at Royal Prima hospital Medan. The research data were analyzed using Wilcoxon Test with a significant value of α = 0.05. The patient experienced pain before back massage was provided and after the administration of back massage technique, patient experiencing mild pain was 60% and 40% experienced moderate pain. The results of bivariate analysis showed that p-value = 0.034. This showed that there was a difference between the intensity of pain before and after the back massage technique was performed in patients with postoperative appendicitis. From the results of the above research, it is suggested that the implementation of back massage techniques has an effect on the decrease in pain intensity in patients with postoperative appendicitis. This back massage technique can be applied at hospitals as a measure of pain management which is an independent action of the nurse to handle the patient\u27s pain

    Diabetes mellitus is the result of the interaction of genetic factors and environmental exposure. Genetic factors will determine the individuals susceptible to DM.Uncontrolled diabetes and over time cause serious damage to many systems of the body, especially the nerves and blood vessels. By 2014, 8.5% of adults 18 years and over have diabetes. By 2015, diabetes is a direct cause of 1.6 million deaths and by 2012 high blood glucose is the cause of 2.2 million other deaths. This study aims to determine the relationship of stress levels to elevated blood sugar levels in patients with type II DM in Royal Prima Hospytal Medan. The research design used is correlation (Correlation Study) with Cross Sectional approach. The sample of this research is patient of DM type II disease with sample number 67 respondent using chi-square statistic test. Based on chi-square statistic test can be obtained result of 0,04 that is <0,05 means smaller than value α = 0,05. Thus drawn conclusion there is a relationship of stress level to increase blood sugar levels in DM tipe II patients in Royal Prima Hospytal Medan. From the results of the study concluded that there is a relationship level of stress to elevated blood sugar levels in patients DM tipe II. Suggested to Royal Prima Hospytal Medan recommends that patients keep control of stress on natural problems and diseases in order not to lead to other forms of disease
