Red Emitting Phosphors Doped with Mn and Eu Ions for pc-WLEDs

    Get PDF
A new red emitting phosphors based on oxyfluoride glass and glassceramics doped with europium and manganese ions were synthesized and their optical properties and structure were studied. The transparent ceramic matrices for phosphors were selected because they overcome traditional powder phosphors due to high chemical and thermal stability and low temperature sensitivity. The fluoride based red emitting phosphors combined with green one and blue emitting chip used to fabricate phosphor converted white LEDs with warm color temperature and improved color rendering indexes. Axion decay aff~a \to f \tilde f in a strong magnetic field

The axion decay into charged fermion-antifermion pair a f f~a ~\to f ~\tilde f is studied in external crossed and magnetic fields. The result we have obtained can be of use to re-examine the lower limit on the axion mass in case of possible existence of strong magnetic fields at the early Universe stage.Comment: 6 pages, latex. The article provides an outline of key events involving the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes. A key aspect of ENFSI activities is participation in the implementation of the European Union Council plan to create an integrated European Forensic Science Area 2020. This work is based on the EU system of direct grants, usually issued for a two-year period. A number of batch themed grants is discussed. The results of the Board, Standing Committee and Working Group activities, as well as scientific projects coordinated by the ENFSI are presented. The interaction of ENFSI with external partners, primarily with members of the International Forensic Strategic Alliance uniting all major expert networks is briefly analyzedДан обзор основных мероприятий Европейской сети судебно-экспертных учреждений (ENFSI) последнего времени.

Purpose. The purpose of the study consists in identifying the characteristic features of the distribution of hydrophysical and biogeochemical parameters of marine environment depending on the tide phases in the Onezhskiy Bay (the White Sea) in September. Methods and Results. In the cruise of the R/V «Ekolog» (September 6–11, 2019), synchronous integrated hydrological and biogeochemical studies were for the first time performed in the Onezhskiy Bay depending on the phase of a tidal cycle in September. The standard methods applied for this purpose included two sections in the White Sea, namely along the Western Solovetskaya Salma Strait and through the Onezhskiy Bay from north to south. This permitted to determine the chlorophyll a and nutrients contents, the taxonomic composition, abundance and biomass of phytoplankton including its vertical distribution within the photic zone, as well as the qualitative and quantitative composition of zooplankton. Organic forms of nitrogen (0.62–0.83 mg/l) prevailed among the nutrients in the Onezhskiy Bay, the contents of Pmin and Porg were close (on average 9 μg/l), the concentration of phosphorus mineral forms was predominant in the water bottom layer at the deep-sea stations. In the Western Solovetskaya Salma, the phytoplankton biomass average values during high and low water were 6.75 ± 1.18 mg C/m3 and 10.25 ± 11.34 mg C/m3, and in the Onezhskiy Bay – 8.07 ± 2.43 mg C/m3 and 16.61 ± 13.54 mg C/m3, respectively. Phytoplankton was represented by diatoms, dinophytes, cryptophytes and dictyochas. In the southern part of the Onezhskiy Bay, a significant increase in the abundance of all common zooplankton species was found at night. Conclusions. In the area under study, the impact of the tidal cycle phases on spatial and temporal variability of the marine environment characteristics was manifested in a change in the thickness of the layer of temperature and salinity surface anomalies; position of the Onezhskiy frontal section shifted by 8–9 km; the changes in the nitrites, ammonium ions and chlorophyll a concentrations, and also in the phytoplankton biomass were statistically insignificant; the composition of dominant phytoplankton species did not change; the horizontal distribution of zooplankton, primarily its warm- forms, corresponded to the water temperature horizontal gradient: in the southern part of the Onezhskiy Bay, the abundance of boreal species is by orders of magnitude higher than that near the boundary with the basin

Summary Malignant tumors of the mammary glands are a frequent cause of disability of women due to the lack of glands or the presence of operational defects. In the treatment of breast cancer, the goal is always to increase the chances of recovery and reduce the likelihood of recurrence. In most cases, surgery quality determines further social activity of patients. Perfectly performed surgery is not a guarantee of a good quality of life of the patient in the future. The well-performed reconstructive plastic surgery may have cosmetic defects, the correction of which cannot be carried out in one or two stages (for 30 example, a small asymmetry of the mammary glands or filling defects of the upper or lower slopes of the breast). These defects can adversely affect the quality of life of patients. The loss of a mammary gland, which is a symbol of femininity, becomes a strong emotional shock, and the defect after the operation is a constant reminder of the terrible diagnosis. Even a small surgical defect can affect the psychological state of the patient.

Formation of composite InGaN/GaN/InAlN quantum dots

    No full text
International audienceComposite InGaN/GaN/InAlN quantum dots (QDs) have been formed and studied. The structural properties of thin InAlN layers overgrown with GaN have been analyzed, and it is shown that 3D islands with lateral sizes of ∼(20–30) nm are formed in structures of this kind. It is demonstrated that deposition of a thin InGaN layer onto the surface of InAlN islands overgrown with a thin GaN layer leads to transformation of the continuous InGaN layer to an array of isolated QDs with lateral sizes of 20–30 nm and heights of 2–3 nm. The position of these QDs in the growth direction correlates with that of InAlN islands

International audienceThis work presents the results of the investigation of approaches to the synthesis of the active region of LED with extended optical range. Combination of short‐period InGaN/GaN superlattice and InGaN quantum well was applied to extend optical range of emission up to 560 nm. Monolithic white LED structures containing two blue and one green QWs separated by the short‐period InGaN/GaN superlattice were grown with external quantum efficiency up to 5–6%
