Political Instability is one of the most important factor in the development of the country. To check the development of the country one must check the political instability of that country. I defined political instability is somehow the “the prosperity of government clash”. While going through different literature done on the political instability. Study showed that political instability and growth goes hand in hand. They both affect each other respectively. This study showed that investors are attracted only when there is stable environment for the business market. One variable is directed for future research that is corruption. In concluding the article it is concluded that political inability leads towards low growth of the country and similarly vice versa

Impact of Information Presentation Format on User Decision-making: A Format-stage Fit Perspective

    Get PDF
With the growing popularity of online videos, understanding the role of information presentation format in online decision-making becomes crucial. Existing research in information systems and marketing have looked at information presentation formats and online reviews but very little research has considered the fit between online review presentation format and decision-making stage. In this research we are primarily interested in developing the novel concept of format-stage fit, based on the notion that reviews’ presentation formats have a varying impact on users’ perceptions when users are in different decision-making stages. Accordingly, we propose that a review in pallid format (e.g., text) may be a better fit in choice-reduction stage whereas a review in vivid format (e.g., video) may be a better fit in choice-selection stage. We conduct a lab study to test the research model. The findings are expected to enhance our understanding of information presentation and decision making in online commerce

For robots to be considered effective, they should be able to maneuver through 3D environments. To achieve such mobility, robots needs to be designed in such a way that would span various topographies. So, artificial intelligence algorithms have been developed to ensure agility of the robots when walking on murky topographies. In the current state of the art legged robots, there is still much progress need to be made in research to turn them into automobiles with great agility to be used in the real world utility and provide mobility in rough. GOAT leg as a means of artificial intelligence is still a new phenomenon. There still exists a number of preliminary tests that need to be done in accessing and in the characterization of the leg’s current performance and its implications in the future. This study seeks to develop and agility model which would be useful in ensuring that the robots remain agile in such complex environments. To do this, a simulation has been through Matlab analysis. Results of the current study showed that, 3-RSR was designed to ensure that a high fidelity proprioceptive force control would enable legs with the mechanically spring stiffness. Implications and future recommendations also discussed

Objective: To compare of functional outcomes in terms of post-operative mobility for unipolar versus bipolar un-cemented hemiarthroplasty in elderly patients with displaced intracapsular femoral neck fractures. Methodology: Our study design is Randomized Control Trialconducted inDepartment of Orthopedics Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur. April 2015 to October 2016.Sample size is (calculated by taking n6 =138, confidence interval 95, power of study 80, P1= 33%, P2=13%) 69 in each group. Sampling technique used was non probability consecutive sampling. All patients who meet the inclusion criteria presenting to orthopedic unit of Nishtar Hospital Multan with fracture neck of femur were selected for study. Patients were divided into two groups randomly by lottery method and enrolled for unipolar or bipolar hemiarthroplasty. Chi-square test was used to compare outcome variable in both groups. A p-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Effect modifiers like age and sex was controlled by stratification. Chi square test was applied to see significant difference. Results: Overall, there were 100% (n=138) patients in this study, both genders. The mean age of the patients was 66.35±4.29 years. (Range: 60 to 80years) Mean age and SD of group A (no walking aid) was 54.52 ± 3.10 and in group B (walking aid) 54.99 ± 3.19. Time up go score was noted as successful 33.3% (n=46) and 66.7% (n=92) as unsuccessful. Walking aid was noted in 65.2% (n=90) patients. Functional outcome was noted as good in 26.8% (n=37) patients and noted as bad in 73.2% (n=101) patients. Out of 100% (n=38) patients, good outcome was 26.3% (n=10) unipolar and 73.7% (n=28) bipolar. Out of 100% (n=100) Bad outcome was 59% unipolar and bipolar 41%. Conclusion: Functional outcome in term of mobility is better in case of bipolar prosthesis as compared to unipolar. Thus in our conclusion bipolar prosthesis is preferred procedure as compared to unipolar hemiarthroplasty in treating patients with displaced intracapsular femoral neck fracture. The objective of the study was to measure the relationship between job characteristics and organizational citizenship behavior among banking sector employees. The study was conducted in the banking sector in the city of Peshawar. The research methodology used is quantitative approach and survey for data collection. Through sampling, we generated a sample of 60 respondents belonged to the six different banks. Our results indicate that task significance and autonomy has significant influence on staff OCB; while, results for skills variety, task identity, and feedback turned out to be insignificant. The five dimensions of job characteristic model together explained 27.8% change in the dependent variable of employee OCB. Our results support the previous studies finding that OCB is influenced by job design

Objective: To compare the absorbable with non absorbable sutures in wound dehiscence after closure of Laparotomy incisions. Methodology: This randomized control trial was conducted in the department of general surgery, Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur in seven months duration from June 2016 to January 2017. Data was entered in statistical software SPSS version 23 and analyzed for desired variable analysis. Mean and SD was calculated for numerical data like age and Body Mass Index,  and frequency percentages were calculated categorical data like gender, Anemia etc. Chi square test was applied for effect modification or association of outcome variables with effect modifiers. P value < 0.05 was considered as significant. Results: In this study, a total number of 100% (n=130) patients were included, divided into two equal groups, 65 in each i.e. group Prolene and group Vicryl. In our study, wound dehiscence occurred in 6.2% (n=4) cases in whom Prolene was used whereas 21.5% (n=14) had wound dehiscence with the use of Vicryl suture. Vicryl was followed by significantly higher incidence of wound dehiscence than closure by Prolene (χ2= 6.448 DF = 1, P value=0.011). Conclusion: Observation of our study concluded that non absorbable Prolene has better outcome and less wound dehiscence and other complication as compared to absorbable Vicryl suture. Keywords: Absorbable suture, non absorbable suture, wound dehiscence, laparotomy

Background: To determine that additional dose of nalbuphine is required while using medical air instead of nitrous oxide in oxygen to maintain anaesthesia so that inadequate intra-operative analgesia could be avoided. Methods: This quasi experimental study was carried out in the Department of Anaesthesia, Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi, from October 2007 to March 2008. One hundred patients were selected by non probability convenient sampling. Patients between 20 to 40 years of age were included, belonging to ASA Class-I and II. They were divided into two groups (A and B) scheduled for different elective surgical procedures under general anaesthesia. Group A comprised of fifty patients who received medical air in oxygen. Group B comprised of fifty patients who received nitrous oxide in oxygen. The conduct of anaesthesia was kept same in both the groups. Patients heart rate, mean arterial pressure, pulse oximetry, ECG were monitored and requirement of additional dose of nalbuphine in both the groups was noted. Intra-operative tachycardia and hypertension indicated additional dose of nalbuphine. Average value of heart rate and blood pressure of each case was determined and the data compared and analyzed by SPSS-10. Results: Forty patients in group A did not require intra-operative additional nalbuphine while the remaining ten patients required it. Forty eight patients in group B did not require additional intra-operative nalbuphine and only two patients required it. Conclusion: The use of nitrous oxide significantly reduces the intra-operative narcotic analgesia requirement
