Goal-based hybrid filtering for user-to-user Personalized Recommendation

    Get PDF
Recommendation systems are gaining great importance with e-Learning and multimedia on the internet. It fails in some situations such as new-user profile (cold-start) issue. To overcome this issue, we propose a novel goalbased hybrid approach for user-to-user personalized similarity recommendation and present its performance accuracy. This work also helps to improve collaborative filtering using k-nearest neighbor as neighborhood collaborative filtering (NCF) and content-based filtering as content-based collaborative filtering (CBCF). The purpose of combining k-nn with recommendation approaches is to increase the relevant recommendation accuracy and decrease the new-user profile (cold-start) issue. The proposed goal-based approach associated with nearest neighbors, compare personalized profile preferences and get the similarities between users. The paper discussed research architecture, working of proposed goal-based approach, its experimental steps and initial results.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v3i3.241

Critical issue to consider while developing SQL injection prevention mechanism

    Get PDF
SQL injection vulnerability is the one of the most common web-based application vulnerabilities that can be exploited by SQL injection attack to gain access to restricted data, bypass authentication mechanism and execute unauthorized data manipulation language. Defensive coding is the simple and affordable way to tackle this problem, by applying secure coding in each an every queries used in application. In this paper we provide a detailed background of SQLI attack, we classify defensive coding into different categories, review existing techniques that are related to each technique, and also evaluate such techniques based on number of attacks they were able to stop.We also evaluated each category of approach based on it's deployment requirement related to inheritance. Currently, to the best of our knowledge no papers have classied defensive coding as we do

Testing is a crucial part of each code development method to which organizations devote extensive time and effort. The ever-changing industry needs of business necessitate that experts adopt and support themselves to meet the requirements in microservice testing, and in the process of doing so, contribute escalation to newer approaches and essential techniques of architecture in microservice testing from the perspective of microservice testing, the advancement of “microservice†is the result of such an activity to make the testing quality better and its impact penetrates down to the quality assurance teams. Working on testing microservice has become a newer structure of this testing architecture. This study explains the challenges that the testing world has to deal with and the effective strategies that can be predicted to overcome them while testing for applications and its design with a microservice testing approaches. This study can also serve as a guide to anyone who wants apparition into microservices and would like to know more about microservice. Testing approaches that can be developed and successfully applied while working within such a landscape. However, one of the major advantages of using microservice that it offers, efficient, flexible, effective, reusability mechanism. Furthermore, it is a secure way to reduce the development and testing time and cost. The security, performance, traceability, compatibility, complexity, effectiveness and scalability become some of the major concerns when testing approaches, frameworks, tools and models are applied for each microservice repository and no previous research addresses these concerns. In this review, we present some testing approaches, frameworks, tools and models to address all these concerns

Effect of repeated electrical breakdowns on mineral and natural ester insulating oils

    Get PDF
Transformer insulating oils are exposed to repeated electrical discharge or breakdowns inside power transformers. Durability tests are conducted to analyze the ability of oil to resist decomposition due to such high electrical stresses. With the increasing demand for alternative insulating oils for oilimmersed transformers, it is worthy to compare the performance of different types of insulating oils (conventional mineral-based insulating oil and natural ester-based insulating oil) under repeated electrical breakdown. In this paper, the AC breakdown voltage of different mineral-based and natural ester-based insulating oils is reported. Durability tests were conducted based on the AC breakdown voltage behavior of insulating oils after 50 electrical breakdown shots. The AC breakdown voltage of each insulating oil sample was assessed according to the ASTM D1816 standard test method. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the dissimilarity in chemical composition of the insulating oils has a significant effect on the AC breakdown voltage behavior of these oils under repeated electrical breakdowns

Image Analysis Using Human Body Geometry and Size Proportion Science for Action Classification

    Get PDF
Gestures are one of the basic modes of human communication and are usually used to represent different actions. Automatic recognition of these actions forms the basis for solving more complex problems like human behavior analysis, video surveillance, event detection, and sign language recognition, etc. Action recognition from images is a challenging task as the key information like temporal data, object trajectory, and optical flow are not available in still images. While measuring the size of different regions of the human body i.e., step size, arms span, length of the arm, forearm, and hand, etc., provides valuable clues for identification of the human actions. In this article, a framework for classification of the human actions is presented where humans are detected and localized through faster region-convolutional neural networks followed by morphological image processing techniques. Furthermore, geometric features from human blob are extracted and incorporated into the classification rules for the six human actions i.e., standing, walking, single-hand side wave, single-hand top wave, both hands side wave, and both hands top wave. The performance of the proposed technique has been evaluated using precision, recall, omission error, and commission error. The proposed technique has been comparatively analyzed in terms of overall accuracy with existing approaches showing that it performs well in contrast to its counterparts

Dielectric Strength Improvement of Natural Ester Insulation Oil via Mixed Antioxidants: Taguchi Approach

    Get PDF
Recently, natural ester insulation (NEI) oils are found to be the best candidates to replace mineral-based insulation oils for oil-immersed transformer applications. However, NEI oils are prone to oxidation due to their poor oxidative stability which can be improved by adding antioxidants into the oils. Latest studies have also shown that the use of selected antioxidants improves the AC breakdown voltage (BdV) of NEI oils. However, the experiments in previous studies were designed using the conventional one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT) method, which requires a large number of samples to be tested in order to determine the optimum response. Thus, a Taguchi-based designed experiment is introduced in this study in replacement of the OFAT method. It is found that this method is capable of determining the optimum concentrations of propyl gallate (PG) and citric acid (CA) which will maximize the AC BdV and improve the oxidative stability of the NEI oil. An AC breakdown voltage test is conducted in accordance with the ASTM D1816 standard using Megger OTS60PB portable oil tester, in which the electrode gap distance is kept fixed at 1 mm. The results indicate that the addition of PG and CA antioxidants increases the AC BdV of the rapeseed-based NEI oil. It is found that the optimum concentrations of PG and CA antioxidant is 0.05 and 0.25 wt.%, respectively. Lastly, the model developed in this study is analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Validation test is also conducted on the optimized NEI oil to determine its dielectric strength and oxidative stability
