Stages of disaster mitigation study consists of the level of hazard, vulnerability and capacity. Pekanbaru, the capital of Riau province has the potential to flood inundation. An assessment of the vulnerability of flood inundation using GIS technology be done in twelve districts in the city of Pekanbaru. This study was conducted as a early warning to the public and to the relevant parties. This study uses two parameters causes of flood inundation, such as the parameter of flooding inundation (landform, slope either side of the river, damming the river branching, meandering rivers, and waterworks) and parameters of flood inundation potential water supply (rainfall, river basin shape, drainage density, slope watersheds, and land use). By analyzing satellite imagery data (DEM and Landsat 8 OLI), rainfall data, and administrative map of Pekanbaru City area with the help of GIS technology, the results of the analysis of these two parameters indicate that the city of Pekanbaru has a weighted average score is 2.70, so that the city of Pekanbaru has a severe impact categories rather prone to flooding inundation. The weighted scores of the two parameters in the city of Pekanbaru has shown that the land (weighted score of 1.33), the availability of water building (weighted score of 2.25), and the use of land (weighted score of 1.20) has a considerable influence on the cause of the flood puddles in the city of Pekanbar

Most of surface run off in rainy season in west Bangkinang city flow to Petai I river, so that Petai I river unable to deliver it anymore to Kampar river, it will be flood in some region in Bangkinang city. According a concept has been developed to this condition that devides into two parts Jendral Ahmad Yani street, for the east region flow, will be directed to Petai I river and the west region will be directed to Polsek Bangkinang channel. The aim of this study is to planned drainage system and the capacity of the channel to drain surface runoff so that to overcome the happening flood and to reduces the load flow of the Petai I river. Rainfall station data of Pasar Kampar for 15 years used to determine rainfall plan by using 10 times years period and obtained rainfall plans (R24) of 136.11 mm. From the chatchment area map and rainfall plan data the area debit calculated to get dimensions of channel plan. The finding showed that the capacity of the existing channel with dimensions of 0.45 m - 3.00 m is unable to accommodate debit that occurs of 0.06 m3/sec - 3.96 m3/sec so that a new drainage system with dimensions of 0.44 m - 2.61 m which can accommodate debit of 0.06 m3/sec - 6.72 m3/sec must be planed

Most of the surface run off water in rainy season in Bangkinang flow to Petai I river, and this condition makes the Petai I river unable to deliver it anymore to Kampar river, it will flood some region in Bangkinang. A concept has been developed according to this condition it devides the raining region into two parts for the Jendral Ahmad Yani street, the east region to Petai I river and the west to Polsek Bangkinang channel. Soil permeability is determined to get a rate of infiltration in the retention pond. Soil samples were taken in the location of research using hand auger and then taken to the laboratory for testing permeability values with permeameter. From the test results obtained by the value of the infiltration is 7.44 x10-7 cm/sec. The retention pond is simulated to reduce debit of surface run off, and at the end it will reduce planned channel dimension, also the lands for drainage channel can be reduced. Retention pond are planned about six retention ponds then simulated by reducing the surface run off water approximately20%, but the retention pond size needed is too big ie between 28,7-5000 hectare, that's why the retention pond size must be suited with the size of the land. After the making of this retention pond, the debit surface run off so small, and it makes the channel dimension stable. So the making of retention pond in west Bangkinang cant be made as alternetive to reduce the surface run off water

Sei paku irrigation area is located in Kampar Kiri District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, this irrigation area is specifically planned for rice fields with total area of ± 1000 Hectares. Function change from agricultural land into fish ponds and palm plantation resulted potential land decrease to ± 350 Hectares. Uncontrolled water utilization for fish pond, channels leakage and influence of meteorological factors resulted water supply shortage for agricultural land and water deficit for certain month.Analysis of evapotranspiration, effective precipitation, percolation and water replacement are used to determine the value of the rice water requirement of plant and crops planting. Fish pond water demand and oil palm plantations is used as a reduction of the value of intake discharge, which then the rest of discharge will be used as a main rate of flow for fulfilling plants water needs. In March, May and July crop water requirement is greater than the mainstay discharge, then a simulation done by allocation of planting schedule that is 5 group for rice planting and 3 group for crops planting. The results showed that planting schedule can reduce the value of the maximum water deficit in the existing condition that is 0.36 m3 / s to 0.041 m3 / s or decreased 88.61%, but the deficit is still occurs. So it is necessary to do a Long Storage planning with 2000m long, width 5m and 5m depth with a land area of 1.2 hectares which function as water reservoir that can be used to fulfilling the crops water needs on dry meteorological conditions

The effect of residential areas development in the city of Pangkalan Kerinci causing a land conversion thus, increasing of surface waters flow due to rain. Surface runoff caused a flood inundation in Jalan Permai BTN Lago. Therefore we need an analyz to reduce flood inundation by analyzing the capacity of drainage channels ranging from the most upstream channel to the final disposal site gas pipeline passing through the country. The existing drainage channels compared with the discharge channel plan with return period of 5 years. Results of comparative analysis is 17.48% drainage channel had width modified (b), 35.92% had modified the width (b) and height (h), 44.66% of drainage channels are not modified, and 1.94% are the new channel. The most downstream channel passes through a gas pipeline that takes cross-sectional modification into reservoir. It required help of a pump for pumping water from the reservoir into the exhaust channel / outlet. reservoir accept 5.63 m3 / sec discharge for the return period of 5 years. Modified existing drainage channels into reservoir withsize (2m x 5m x 230m) using a pump with a capacity of 5 m3 / sec
