    Analysis of Real Time Video Communication Systems

    The most of the existing real time video communication systems mainly focus their work on providing better video quality throughout session. In quest of maintaining video quality they succeed in doing so at the cost of broken sessions, blocky video or sound disturbances when network bandwidth drops below required rate. The system described in this paper mainly concentrates on analysis of input parameters to audio and video encoder which affects the quality of communication. The input parameters to video encoder are altered such that a balance is maintained between video quality and continuity in communication. The input parameters to video encoderused for analysis are video frame size, and frames per second and target encode bitrate used for encoding video frame. The input parameters for audio encoder used for analysis are sampling frequency, bits per sample and no of audio channels used for recording sound. The input parameters to video encoderare changed frequently depending upon various factors such as bandwidth variations, and encodetime required on hardware used. In extreme low bandwidth situation the video is stopped. The communication should always keep alive throughout the session by keeping audio session connected always, so that users should not feel disconnected. The other important factors required for real time video communication to work smoothly are transport protocols used to carry media data and control data across peers. The protocols discussed in this paper are Real Time Protocol (RTP) and Real Time Control Protocol (RTCP).     Now a day’s security has prime importance in different areas such as home security, monitoring of remote areas etc. with advancement in embedded system and wireless technology, it is possible to build a remote area monitoring system with low cost. This paper represents a system implemented by using Raspberry Pi 3 and GPRS module. Transmitter section is implemented at remote area where images are captured by using USB camera interfaced with Raspberry pi. Images are compressed by software programming using libjpeg library and uploaded to HTTP server via SIM900A/800 GSM/GPRS module. Internet connection is established using PPP stack of SIM900A/800 GSM/GPRS module. Receiver section is monitoring center where images are downloaded using 3g or Wi-Fi wireless connection. Received images are decompressed and streamed on web browser using MJPG streamer

    In most of the organizations it is highly desirable to perform different tasks on different machines based on their configuration and permissions assigned to the machines for execution of different tasks. This can be achieved by performing a user-machine mapping by stating clearing the list of tasks that can be performed by a particular user on a particular machine. This kind of discipline further enables traffic control, prevents internal DOS (Denial Of Service) attacks for legitimate users and helps in fair resource sharing. The intent of this research is to enable the end user performing only the tasks permissible to him/her. In this paper we have developed a network monitor and control tool for monitoring the tasks on a medium sized local area network. To facilitate this, task permissions are assigned to different machines which is stored in XML configuration file which is then parsed using JDOM (Java Document Object Model) Parser. The configuration file contains the details such as machine name, and the list of tasks not permitted on that machine. The list of machines and the list of tasks denied on that machine is configurable by an end user. A background thread will continuously monitor the execution of illegal task on a machine and will abort and report the same in a database. This also facilitates the control of network traffic thereby improving the network performance by aborting illegal tasks. Network monitoring tool is tested for local area network of department of computer studies at SIBER by setting up specific monitors to check status and to carry out specific operations. The tool developed by us requires a small amount of system resources, and it is an open source tool. Presently, the tool generates a report comprising of a list of illegal tasks in a specified time period, which enables network administrator to take corrective measures for the smooth operation of the network.     Implementation of Excel Parser for Web Integration of Digital Evaluation System of CSIBER

    Digitization and advancements in web technology have facilitated quick access to accurate data irrespective of its location and time zone. Time span becomes crucial in such cases since the data soon becomes stale. Further, web hosts data in variety of formats and sizes. Integrity, authenticity and confidentiality play a key role in data access. The main motto of web data accessibility is that data should be made available only to the person who is authorized to access it. CSIBER has recently installed Digital Evaluation System (DES) for automating the routine tasks of examination department. However, currently the software lacks in web interface. To address this issue, in the current paper, the authors have designed and developed an Excel parser in PHP which acts as an interface between DES and CSIBER’s official website by enabling examinees a quick access to online mark statement. The parser is flexible enough to take care of minor differences in structures of Excel spreadsheets. The deployment folder structure is presented and different cases are explored
