ZANIMLJIV PRIMJERAK Leptidea duponcheli (Staudinger, 1871) U SREDIŠNJOJ ZBIRCI DANJIH LEPTIRA HRVATSKOG PRIRODOSLOVNOG MUZEJA U ZAGREBU

A specimen of the Eastern Wood White Leptidea duponcheli (Staudinger, 1971) collected on the island of Unije in 1964 and deposited in the Central Butterfly Collection of the Croatian Natural History Museum in Zagreb is analyzed. The analysis shows, so far, that Leptidea duponcheli Staud. cannot be considered a member of the Croatian butterfly fauna, although it might be found in the Mediterranean part of Croatia, on the Croatian islands or in southern Croatia (Konavle region).Pregledom Središnje zbirke danjih leptira Hrvatskog prirodoslovnog muzeja u Zagrebu utvrđen je jedan primjerak leptira koji je određen kao vrsta Leptidea duponcheli Staud. Budući da ova vrsta nije zabilježena na području Hrvatske, navedeni primjerak koji je prema podacima na etiketi prikupljen na otoku Unije, bio bi prvi nalaz ove vrste u fauni Hrvatske. Nalazi većeg broja novih vrsta danjih leptira u fauni Hrvatske u posljednjih 15-tak godina ukazuju da je moguć nalaz i nekih drugih, manje očekivanih vrsta u našoj fauni, pa tako i vrste L. duponcheli Staud. Ti nalazi mogu se očekivati u mediteranskom području posebice na području otoka i juga Hrvatske (Konavle). Osim toga, promjena klimatskih značajki koja je očita i na prostoru Hrvatske zasigurno će dovesti do promjena i u našoj fauni. Neke će se nove vrste koje šire svoje areale ili su introducirane s tropskih ili subtropskih područja pojaviti i postati sastavni element naše faune. S druge strane, neke koje su elementi hrvatske faune, ako se ne uspiju prilagoditi na novonastale uvjete, gotovo će sigurno nestati s ovog područja. Zbog toga, je u našoj fauni moguć i nalaz vrste L. duponcheli Staud., ali za sada na temelju analiziranog primjerka iz Središnje zbirke danjih leptira Hrvatskog prirodoslovnog muzeja u Zagrebu nije je moguće brojati kao element faune Hrvatske

Antitype suda (Geyer, 1832) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), nova vrsta sovice u fauni Hrvatske pronađena u Parku prirode Biokovo

Prvi popis vrsta potporodice Arctiinae (Lepidoptera, Erebidae) za Hrvatsku i nalaz Rhyparioides metelkana (Lederer, 1861), nove vrste za hrvatsku faunu pronađene u dolini Neretve

Present paper provides the first checklist of the subfamily Arctiinae with biogeographical features, and distribution area and reviews of certain interesting species of tiger moths found in Croatia. To determine the level of research into the subfamily Arctiinae in Croatia, comparison was made with the well-explored tiger moths fauna of Italy, Slovenia, Austria and Hungary. In addition, during September 1997 in the area of the lower course of the Neretva River five specimens of species Rhyparioides metelkana (Lederer, 1861) were collected for the first time for fauna of Croatia. Another six specimens of this species were collected in the same area in August 2012. This is the southernmost point of its distribution area in Europe, making this record faunistically very interesting. Nearest population of this species is found 400 kilometres north in Hungary.Ovaj rad daje prvi popis vrsta iz potporodice Arctiinae s biogeografskim značajkama i područjem rasprostranjenosti te daje kratak osvrt na neke zanimljive vrste medonjica u Hrvatskoj. Kako bi se odredio stupanj istraženosti potporodice Arctiinae u Hrvatskoj napravljena je usporedba s dobro istraženim faunama medonjica Italije, Slovenije, Austrije i Mađarske. Tijekom rujna 1997. godine na području donjeg toka rijeke Neretve prvi puta je sakupljeno pet primjeraka vrste Rhyparioides metelkana (Lederer, 1861) za faunu Hrvatske. Narednih šest primjeraka te vrste sakupljeno je na istom području u kolovozu 2012. godine. Novi nalazi livadnog moljca Euclasta splendidalis (Herrich-Schäffer, [1848]) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) u Hrvatskoj s osvrtom na faunu Pyraloidea iz doline Neretve

In the following paper, new information about the occurrence of the pyraloid moth Euclasta splendidalis (Herrich-Schäffer, [1848]) in Croatia is presented. Although this species from the microlepidopterous family Crambidae was presented as a new one in the Croatian fauna in 2012, three specimens were discovered during an examination of a large number of pyraloid moths collected by Mladen Kučinić in the 1990s. These specimens of Euclasta splendidalis were collected during several field trips to the Neretva Valley, south Dalmatia, in August 1996 and 1997 and are the oldest findings of Euclasta splendidalis in Croatia. Also, two specimens were collected during a field investigation in the same area conducted in 2016. These additional records suggest that this local and rare species has been present in the fauna of Croatia for quite a long time and that it has become permanently present in the fauna of Croatia. They also deepen the knowledge on the distribution of this species within the same area. Furthermore, a list of additionally recorded pyraloid species from the valley of the Neretva River is given.U radu iznosimo podatake o novim nalazima vrste livadnog moljca Euclasta splendidalis (Herrich-Schäffer, [1848]) u Hrvatskoj. Iako je ova vrsta mikrolepidoptera iz porodice Crambidae 2012. godine zabilježena kao nova vrsta za faunu Hrvatske, tri su primjerka pronađena pregledavajući zbirku Pyraloidea dr. sc. Mladena Kučinića prikupljenih tijekom 1990-tih godina. Primjerci vrste Euclasta splendidalis su prikupljeni tijekom terenskih istraživanja u dolini Neretve, u južnoj Dalmaciji, u kolovozu 1996. i 1997. godine. Ovi nalazi predstavljaju najstarije nalaze ove vrste s područja Republike Hrvatske. Usto, dva su primjerka ulovljena tijekom terenskih istraživanja koja su izvršena 2016. godine u dolini Neretve. Ovi dodatni nalazi ukazuju na to da je ta lokalna i rijetka vrsta duže prisutna u fauni Hrvatske, te da je postala stalni element hrvatske faune. Ovi nalazi također proširuju znanje o distribuciji vrste Euclasta splendidalis na istome području. Nadalje se u radu daje popis dodatnih vrsta Pyraloidea zabilježenih na području doline Neretve

Prvo sistematsko istraživanje adulta i drugi popis tulara (Insecta, Trichoptera) za područje Nacionalnog parka Plitvička jezera s osvrtom na povijest istraživanja, bioraznolikost, rasprostranjensot i ekologiju

The Plitvice Lakes National Park is a unique area in the world with a great variety of aquatic habitats, including tufa barriers. UNESCO has protected this area since 1979. In this paper, detailed faunistic results of the first research on Trichoptera species conducted from 1997 to 2001 are shown. Sampling was done using both light and emergence traps, and 77 caddisfly species were determined using the two methods. Furthermore, a brief overview of the Trichoptera research history in the Plitvice Lakes area is given along with a detailed presentation of caddisfly fauna and an extended checklist of Trichoptera species. In the Plitvice Lakes 89 Trichoptera species have been recorded so far. Flight periods are given for each species. Also, the reasons of such a high degree of Trichoptera biodiversity (the highest in Croatia) in the Plitvice Lakes are highlighted. A comparison of species assemblages collected from the 12 localities was made along with the comparison of Trichoptera fauna composition in different aquatic habitats in the Plitvice Lakes NP: springs, streams, lakes and tufa barriers.Plitvička jezera jedinstveno su područje u svijetu s velikom raznolikošću slatkovodnih staništa od kojih se posebno ističu sedrene barijere. Ovo je područje pod zaštitom UNESCO-a od 1979. godine. Radom se prikazuju detaljni faunistički rezultati prvih sistematskih istraživanja tulara (Trichoptera, Insecta) na području Nacionalnog parka Plitvička jezera. Tulari su prikupljani metodama svjetlosnih i emergencijskih klopki u periodu od 1997. do 2001. godine, a zabilježeno je ukupno 77 vrsta. U radu se daje osvrt na povijest istraživanja tulara na području Nacionalnog parka, detaljan pregled faune tulara zabilježene na tome području te prikaz drugog, nadopunjenog popisa Trichoptera NP Plitvička jezera. Na području Nacionalnog Parka dosadašnjim je istraživanjima zabilježeno 89 vrsta tulara. Za sve vrste prikazuje se period leta te se ukazuje na razloge ovako velike bioraznolikosti tulara (najveća u Hrvatskoj) na području Plitvička jezera. Izvršena je usporedba zabilježene faune na svim lokalitetima istraživanja (12 lokaliteta) na području Plitvičkih jezera, te usporedba sastava faune tulara na različitim slatkovodnim tipovima staništa na tome prostoru: izvorima, potocima, jezerima i sedrenim barijerama

Faunal features of caddisflies (Insecta, Trichoptera) in Konavle region (Croatia) with notes on DNA barcoding and conservation biology

Throughout this research, 230 Trichoptera specimens were collected in the area of Konavle area, the southernmost region of Croatia. Altogether 21 species, 15 genera and 11 families were identified. DNA barcoding covered 41 specimens represented with 15 species collected in the Konavle region. The highest number of species was recorded at two localities: the spring of the River Ljuta (13) and a spring in the village Vodovađa (8). The highest number of taxa (4) was recorded within the following two families: Hydroptilidae and Hydropsychidae. From a faunistic point of view, the most interesting species in Konavle region are: Agapetus cf. kampos Oláh (the first record for Croatia), Hydroptila martini Marshall (the first record for the Mediterranean part of Croatia), Oxyethira falcata Morton (the first record for Croatia), Tinodes andrasi Oláh (type locality of the species is River Ljuta), Diplectrona cf. afra McLachlan (the first record from the Mediterranean part of Croatia) and Micropterna wageneri Malicky (the second record for Croatia). The first DNA barcoding data for the species Agapetus cf. kampos Oláh and Tinodes andrasi Oláh were entered into the BOLD database. The area of Konavle represents one of the most interesting regions for the fauna of Trichoptera and can be considered as a ”hotspot” for caddisflies in Croatia.
