Kinder und Jugendliche bilden in informellen Kontexten zwar Praktiken der Informationsrecherche und-verarbeitung aus, jedoch bedürfen diese einer Ausdifferenzierung, Weiterentwicklung und Reflexion im formalen Kontext Schule, um die Anforderungen an einen kompetenten Umgang mit Informationen zu erfüllen. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird auf der Basis eines Handlungsmodells zur Informationskompetenz und einer Theorie zur Verbindung formaler und informeller (Lern-) Kontexte am Beispiel der Onlineenzyklopädie Wikipedia diskutiert, wie entsprechende Kompetenzen und eine Kultur des Teilens (mittels OER) in der Schule gefördert werden können
