Mathematical modeling of the propagation of the twodimensional front of a top natural fire

В статье приводится двумерная математическая модель очага горения в лесном массиве, который развивается во времени, в следствии подвергает тепловому воздействию находящуюся вблизи деревянную постройку. В работе проведены расчеты, на основании которых построены зависимости, по результатам данных расчетов получены безопасные расстояния от лесного массива до деревянной постройки с учетом различных метеорологических условий. Приведены численные расчёты с решением нестационарных двумерных уравнений сохранения, данная задача решается численно, входные условия характерны для крупных природных пожаров.The article presents a two-dimensional mathematical model of a combustion center in a forest, which develops over time, and as a result exposes a nearby wooden building to heat. In the work, calculations were carried out, on the basis of which dependencies were built, based on the results of these calculations, safe distances from a forest to a wooden building were obtained, taking into account various meteorological conditions. Numerical calculations with the solution of nonstationary two-dimensional conservation equations are presented, this problem is solved numerically, the input conditions are typical for large wildfires

The successful application of poly­(<i>N</i>-vinylcaprolactam)-based microgels requires a profound understanding of their synthesis. For this purpose, a validated process model for the microgels synthesis by precipitation copolymerization with the cross-linker <i>N</i>,<i>N</i>′-methylenebis­(acrylamide) is formulated. Unknown reaction rate constants, reaction enthalpies, and partition coefficients are obtained by quantum mechanical calculations. The remaining parameter values are estimated from reaction calorimetry and Raman spectroscopy measurements of experiments with different monomer/cross-linker compositions. Because of high cross-propagation reaction rate constants, simulations predict a fast incorporation of the cross-linker. This agrees with reaction calorimetry measurements. Furthermore, the gel phase is predicted as the major reaction locus. The model is utilized for a prediction of the internal particle structure regarding its cross-link distribution. The highly cross-linked core reported in the literature corresponds to the predictions of the model
