An Exploratory Model of Filtering in Administrative Searches
In the three decades during which predominately white institutions of higher education have been desegregated, some important gains have been made, although in regards to matters of race, serious problems and difficulties continue to exist. One important index of progress is the elevation of African Americans to significant position within the hierarchy of administrative structures at predominately white colleges and universities (Harvey, 1999, p. 1)
