    Get PDF
This study uses quantitative methods to investigate the importance of corporate social responsibility authenticity (CSRA) on the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It investigates the interceding roles of organizational identification (OID) and corporate reputation (CRE) between CSRA and firm performance (FPE). The data, which were questionnaire responses from 548 customers, employees, and shareholders of SMEs, were analyzed using SmartPLS version 3.3.2. Significant positive correlations were found between the authenticity of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and three key factors: firm performance, organizational identification, and corporate reputation. This study contributes to existing knowledge by exploring the mediating roles of OID and CRE in the relationship between CSRA and FPE. To better understand how CSR affects OID, CRE, and eventually FPE, this study integrates the perceptions of internal and external stakeholders on the degree to which CSR is seen as authentic. This study particularly adds to the body of CSR literature in the context of increasing skepticism of stakeholders about CSR authenticity. Grounded in stakeholder behaviors, social identity, and social exchange theories, this study extends these theories by operationalizing a novel empirical framework in a new setting. Furthermore, the implications of this study extend to society’s current concerns about “greenwashing” or “corporate hypocrisy.

Counterfactual analysis among Covid-19: fiscal and monetary policy for green economic recovery

This study examines fiscal-monetary policy links in America across a time period that includes the recent global economic crisis and the COVID-19 emergency. Hypotheses deviate that regulatory administrations are permanent and calculate fiscal policy yearly percentage rate and budgetary regulations which are likely to change between two governments. Additionally, study uses the VAR technique to evaluate the effects of financial initiatives similar to those undertaken in the aftermath of the Covid-19 outbreak. Results discovered that fiscal policy is more successful than monetary policy, and that lavishing on public debt helps increase short-run economic performance. People argue that concerns about a rapid rise in prices as a result of fiscal stimulus are unfounded because the US economy was not close to full employment or full use of funds prior to the global epidemic, and the dissemination processes that could contribute to accelerating rising prices are not always in place. As a result, with the withdrawal of monetary stimulus, the favourable effects on actual GDP and real private expenditure are gone. Long-term mortgage rates have risen, money invested has decreased, and prices have risen, raising concerns about the banking system’s inflationary tendency

AbstractPurposeThe study investigated the relationship between digital supply chain (DSC) and sustainable supply chain performance (SSCP) of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) via the lens of supply chain integration (SCI) and information sharing (IS). This study concentrates more on the mediating role of SCI and IS in the link between DSC and SSCP that no research has mentioned before.Design/methodology/approachThis research figures out how the DSC impacts the performance of the organization and the supply chain. By employing a carefully designed questionnaire to gather data, a quantitative methodology was employed. Managers at the senior and medium levels were the responders who were targeted. There are 467 valid replies gathered from the primary survey. The data results were used in the analysis using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM).FindingsThe findings imply that SCI’s function in the information-sharing process is crucial as it fosters cooperation, coordination and connectivity throughout the DSC. Furthermore, the study’s conclusions offer helpful information on how businesses might enhance supply chain performance through information exchange. Businesses are constantly concentrating on the role that the DSC plays as a catalyst for sustainable growth and are improving supply chain performance through SCI and information exchange.Originality/valueThis study highlights the gaps and unexplored themes in the existing literature, catalogs the DSC published in the main logistics journals and helps people recognize and appreciate this kind of work. It also has the potential to contribute to future research on SSCP. Moreover, the novelty research is further reinforced by the coverage of the newfound mechanism, where SCI and IS mediate the relationship between DSC and SSCP, directly and positively enhancing SSCP

Few-Shot Object Detection via Synthetic Features with Optimal Transport

Few-shot object detection aims to simultaneously localize and classify the objects in an image with limited training samples. However, most existing few-shot object detection methods focus on extracting the features of a few samples of novel classes that lack diversity. Hence, they may not be sufficient to capture the data distribution. To address that limitation, in this paper, we propose a novel approach in which we train a generator to generate synthetic data for novel classes. Still, directly training a generator on the novel class is not effective due to the lack of novel data. To overcome that issue, we leverage the large-scale dataset of base classes. Our overarching goal is to train a generator that captures the data variations of the base dataset. We then transform the captured variations into novel classes by generating synthetic data with the trained generator. To encourage the generator to capture data variations on base classes, we propose to train the generator with an optimal transport loss that minimizes the optimal transport distance between the distributions of real and synthetic data. Extensive experiments on two benchmark datasets demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the state of the art. Source code will be available

Linking Artificial Intelligence and Supply Chain Resilience: Roles of Dynamic Capabilities Mediator and Open Innovation Moderator

    No full text
The uncertain and rapidly changing environment raises deep concerns about supply chain resilience (SCRe). Particularly in the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) settings, the lack of resources of SMEs becomes more pressure when considering SCRe. Although the literature on supply chain management and SCRe is increasing, understanding how artificial intelligence (AI) adoption can contribute value to SCRe needs further study. In this article, we aim to bridge the gap by examining an integrated framework of factors conceptually assumed to enable SCRe improvement. Grounded in information processing theory and dynamic capabilities view perspective, conceptually, AI has a relationship with SCRe; simultaneously, dynamic capabilities (DCs) mediate this relationship, and open innovation (OI) moderates the influence of AI on DC. The findings of this study suggest that, in the face of disruption and an uncertain environment, AI is a strategic tool for firms to improve DC and, ultimately, SCRe. Additionally, OI plays a moderation role in the impact of AI on DC. Drawn upon the knowledge-practice gap in this field, this study is among the few currently providing empirical evidence on optimizing AI benefits for building lasting SCRe based on DC development

AbstractThe aim of this study is to perform the impacts of corporate social responsibility (CSR) based on the firms’ performance (FP). These investigations also provide the mediating role of access to finance (AF) as well as business model innovation (BMI) using the relationship of CSR and FP. This study principally follows quantitative method. The smart use of the PLS SEM to investigate the data of the SMEs in Vietnam in 2020. The findings of this work indicate an important and positive effect of CSR on FP using the AF and BMI mediated in this relation. The study brings a mechanism by which corporate social responsibility results in firm performance: SMEs with improved CSR practices will be better positioned for AF and BMI those translating into improved competitiveness for improved firm performance in a sustainable direction. The originality of this study is to provide the comprehensive CSR practices based on the financial representations of SMEs in the developing countries. Moreover, this study shows a rare work that establishes a relationship between the financial SMEs performance and CSR practices in Vietnam through the financial and business model innovation as mediation, particularly that favors revisionist view of CSR in the current context of Vietnam. The objective of this work is to provide the important implications for business practitioners and managerial level of SMEs with respect to increase in CSR awareness as well as the importance of CSR long-term strategic planning in their corporate focus strategy

Amidst the current demand for sustainable development in the globalized world, a green-orientation emerges as a strategic direction for businesses that increasingly attracts stakeholders because of its significant value for the business viability and sustainable development. The extant literature shows that the studies on CSR's influence on corporate outcomes have diverse approaches. The study explored the link of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainable corporate performance (SCP) of SMEs mediated by green innovation (GI) and green supply chain management (GSCM) in an emerging economy context. The extant literature lacks discussions around the above combined relationship and impact to the sustainability domain. Using the survey method and Partial Least Squared Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using 486 primary responses covering middle and senior managers, the study supports role of CSR in driving the sustainable corporate performance (SCP) with the intervention of GI and GSCM. The deliberations advance the current CSR literature and its involvement in the value-creating activities that lead to business performance. Importantly, this study emphasizes the implications of a circular economy in GSCM towards sustainability. Accordingly, it motivates SMEs to make strategic, operational changes that lead to significant environmental, social, and economic impacts. © 2022 Elsevier Lt
