    Duality and fields redefinition in three dimensions

    We analyze local fields redefinition and duality for gauge field theories in three dimensions. We find that both Maxwell-Chern-Simons and the Self-Dual models admits the same fields redefinition. Maxwell-Proca action and its dual also share this property. We show explicitly that a gauge-fixing term has no influence on duality and fields redefinition.Comment: 8 pages, suppressed contents.     Three-dimensional Dirac oscillator in a thermal bath

    The thermal properties of the three-dimensional Dirac oscillator are considered. The canonical partition function is determined, and the high-temperature limit is assessed. The degeneracy of energy levels and their physical implications on the main thermodynamic functions are analyzed, revealing that these functions assume values greater than the one-dimensional case. So that at high temperatures, the limit value of the specific heat is three times bigger.Comment: 9 pages, 4 figures. Text improved, references added.     Topological mass generation to antisymmetric tensor matter field

    We propose a mechanism to give mass to tensor matter field which preserve the U(1) symmetry. We introduce a complex vector field that couples with the tensor in a topological term.     Lagrangian phase transitions in nonequilibrium thermodynamic systems

    In previous papers we have introduced a natural nonequilibrium free energy by considering the functional describing the large fluctuations of stationary nonequilibrium states. While in equilibrium this functional is always convex, in nonequilibrium this is not necessarily the case. We show that in nonequilibrium a new type of singularities can appear that are interpreted as phase transitions. In particular, this phenomenon occurs for the one-dimensional boundary driven weakly asymmetric exclusion process when the drift due to the external field is opposite to the one due to the external reservoirs, and strong enough.Comment: 10 pages, 2 figure

    Padrão racial e seu impacto sobre o melhoramento genético da Raça Morada Nova.

    Objetivou-se com esse trabalho estudar o impacto do padrão racial na conservação e no melhoramento genético da raça Morada Nova. Os dados utilizados no presente estudo pertencem a quatro diferentes rebanhos do estado do Ceará. As variáveis estudadas foram agrupadas em classes de acordo com o tipo de resposta, como segue: pelagem (vermelha e preta), espelho nasal e cascos (pigmentado, predominantemente pigmentado, predominantemente despigmentado e despigmentado). Os dados obtidos foram analisados pelo teste do qui-quadrado (?2). Observou-se uma maior frequência de animais com pelagem vermelha (96,6%) e uma menor com pelagem preta (3,4%), que de acordo com o padrão racial devem ser descartados da população. Observou-se uma associação significativa (?²= 10,3; P<0,05) entre a pigmentação do espelho nasal e a dos cascos. A observação estreita do padrão racial oficial tem fortes implicações no melhoramento genético da raça Morada Nova

    A new picture on (3+1)D topological mass mechanism

    We present a class of mappings between the fields of the Cremmer-Sherk and pure BF models in 4D. These mappings are established by two distinct procedures. First a mapping of their actions is produced iteratively resulting in an expansion of the fields of one model in terms of progressively higher derivatives of the other model fields. Secondly an exact mapping is introduced by mapping their quantum correlation functions. The equivalence of both procedures is shown by resorting to the invariance under field scale transformations of the topological action. Related equivalences in 5D and 3D are discussed. A cohomological argument is presented to provide consistency of the iterative mapping.Comment: 13 page

    A family of m independent identically distributed random variables indexed by a chemical potential \phi\in[0,\gamma] represents piles of particles. As \phi increases to \gamma, the mean number of particles per site converges to a maximal density \rho_c<\infty. The distribution of particles conditioned on the total number of particles equal to n does not depend on \phi (canonical ensemble). For fixed m, as n goes to infinity the canonical ensemble measure behave as follows: removing the site with the maximal number of particles, the distribution of particles in the remaining sites converges to the grand canonical measure with density \rho_c; the remaining particles concentrate (condensate) on a single site.Comment: 6 page
