On the kinetic equation approach to pair production by time-dependent electric field
We investigate the quantum kinetic approach to pair production from vacuum by
time-dependent electric field. Equivalence between this approach and the more
familiar S-matrix approach is explicitly established for both scalar and
fermion cases. For the particular case of a constant electric field exact
solution for kinetic equations is provided and the accuracy of low-density

Approaches to Active Tourism in the Urals and in Perm Krai
Located in the south of Ural, Perm Krai, apart from mineral resources and well-developed industry, can boast vast areas that lend themselves to active and qualified tourism, with the quality of an amateur sport. The development of these forms of tourism often requires large expenditure needed for adjusting the space to various types of activity. It also requires a correlation between a given character of the space and the preferred form of tourism, which often leads to environmental conflicts between the development of tourism and nature protection. The article presents the most important elements of the tourism potential in Perm Krai, as well as the sports tourism development perspectives in the context of real and potential environmental conflicts
First measurement of cluster temperature using the thermal Sunyaev-Zeldovich effect
We discuss a new method of finding the cluster temperatures which is
independent of distance and therefore very useful for distant clusters. The hot
gas of electrons in clusters of galaxies scatters and distorts the cosmic
microwave background radiation in a well determined way. This
Sunyaev-Zel'dovich (SZ) effect is a useful tool for extracting information
about clusters such as their peculiar radial velocity and optical depth. Here
we show how the temperature of the cluster can be inferred from the SZ effect,
in principle without use of X-ray data. We use recent millimetre observation of
Abell 2163 to determine for the first time a cluster temperature using SZ
observations only. The result T_e = 26^+34_-19 keV at 68% confidence level (at
95% c.l. we find T>1.5 keV) is in reasonable agreement with the X-ray results,
T_e =12.4^+2.8_-1.9 keV.Comment: 7 pages, 2 figure
Bilayer Lift-Off Process for Aluminum Metallization
Recently published reports in the literature for bilayer lift-off processes have described recipes for the patterning of metals that have recommended metal-ion-free developers, which do etch aluminum. We report the first measurement of the dissolution rate of a commercial lift-off resist (LOR) in a sodium-based buffered commercial developer that does not etch aluminum. We describe a reliable lift-off recipe that is safe for multiple process steps in patterning thin (\u3c100 nm) and thick aluminum devices with micron-feature sizes. Our patterning recipe consists of an acid cleaning of the substrate, the bilayer (positive photoresist/LOR) deposition and development, the sputtering of the aluminum film along with a palladium capping layer and finally, the lift-off of the metal film by immersion in the LOR solvent. The insertion into the recipe of postexposure and sequential develop-bake-develop process steps are necessary for an acceptable undercut. Our recipe also eliminates any need for accompanying sonication during lift-off that could lead to delamination of the metal pattern from the substrate. Fine patterns were achieved for both 100-nm-thick granular aluminum/palladium bilayer bolometers and 500-nm-thick aluminum gratings with 6-μm lines and 4-μm space
