Exact solution of Schrodinger equation for modified Kratzer's molecular potential with the position-dependent mass
Exact solutions of Schrodinger equation are obtained for the modified Kratzer
and the corrected Morse potentials with the position-dependent effective mass.
The bound state energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions are
calculated for any angular momentum for target potentials. Various forms of

Quasi-exact-solution of the Generalized Exe Jahn-Teller Hamiltonian
We consider the solution of a generalized Exe Jahn-Teller Hamiltonian in the
context of quasi-exactly solvable spectral problems. This Hamiltonian is
expressed in terms of the generators of the osp(2,2) Lie algebra. Analytical
expressions are obtained for eigenstates and eigenvalues. The solutions lead to
a number of earlier results discussed in the literature. However, our approach
renders a new understanding of ``exact isolated'' solutions
Identity Integration as a Protective Factor against Guilt and Shame for Religious Gay Men
Belonging to multiple identities that are incompatible has been linked to poor psychological wellbeing outcomes, including feelings of guilt and shame. Individuals who experience such conflict can use a range of strategies to reconcile seemingly incompatible identities. The current study aimed to explore the strategy of identity integration as a protective factor against guilt and shame for individuals who identify as both religious and gay. A sample of 183 religious gay men (M age = 29.31 years, SD = 10.42) completed an online survey comprising measures of religious identification, gay identification, guilt, shame, and identity integration. We found that religious identification predicted higher levels of religious-based guilt, and both gay identity-based guilt and shame. Conversely, gay identification was not associated with any feelings of guilt or shame. Identity integration predicted lower levels of all guilt and shame outcomes, and also moderated the relationship between religious identification and guilt and shame–that is, religious-gay identity integration attenuated the negative effects independently associated with religious identification. These findings suggest that identity integration may enable gay people to access the protective benefits of religious engagement and multiple group memberships while remaining connected to the gay community
Scattering states of a particle, with position-dependent mass, in a double heterojunction
In this work we obtain the exact analytical scattering solutions of a
particle (electron or hole) in a semiconductor double heterojunction -
potential well / barrier - where the effective mass of the particle varies with
position inside the heterojunctions. It is observed that the spatial dependence
of mass within the well / barrier introduces a nonlinear component in the plane
wave solutions of the continuum states. Additionally, the transmission
coefficient is found to increase with increasing energy, finally approaching
unity, whereas the reflection coefficient follows the reverse trend and goes to

It is shown that for a class of position dependent mass Schroedinger equation
the shape invariance condition is equivalent to a potential symmetry algebra.

A qualitative exploration of the tertiary education experiences of refugee and asylum seekers in Australia
The world currently has the highest documented level of displaced people in recorded history. This includes a large number of individuals who are spending their youth as asylum seekers or refugees, which often impedes their access to and engagement with educational pursuits. Given that education has been shown to be a fundamental factor to facilitative resettlement and acculturation for newly-arrived refugee families and individuals, continued research attempting to understand the barriers to accessing education is warranted. This study qualitatively examines the educational experiences (with a focus on access to education) of 10 refugee and asylum-seeking students in Australian tertiary education using thematic analysis on semi-structured interview data. Six themes were identified from the interviews as barriers to or facilitators in accessing education. These are: relationships, emotional well-being, logistics, knowledge, instability, and financial hardship. The findings from this study add to a limited empirical knowledge base on this topic, and improve our understanding of the experiences of accessing education for students with refugee backgrounds. This is discussed in relation to its implications for institutes and policy makers
Development of an approximate method for quantum optical models and their pseudo-Hermicity
An approximate method is suggested to obtain analytical expressions for the
eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the some quantum optical models. The method
is based on the Lie-type transformation of the Hamiltonians. In a particular
case it is demonstrated that Jahn-Teller Hamiltonian can
easily be solved within the framework of the suggested approximation. The
method presented here is conceptually simple and can easily be extended to the
other quantum optical models. We also show that for a purely imaginary coupling
the Hamiltonian becomes non-Hermitian but -symmetric. Possible generalization of this approach is outlined.Comment: Paper prepared fo the "3rd International Workshop on Pseudo-Hermitian

Economic Rationale for Safety Investment in Integrated Gasification Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine Membrane Reactor Modules
A detailed Net Present Value (NPV) model has been developed to evaluate the economic viability of an Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle – Membrane Reactor (IGCC-MR) power plant intended to provide an electricity generating and pure H2 (hydrogen) producing technology option with significantly lower air pollutants and CO2 (carbon dioxide) emission levels, where the membrane reactor module design conforms also to basic inherent safety principles. Sources of irreducible uncertainty (market, regulatory and technological) are explicitly recognized, such as the power plant capacity factor, Pd (palladium) price, membrane life-time and CO2 prices (taxes) due to future regulatory action/policies. The effect of the above uncertainty drivers on the project’s/plant’s value is elucidated using a Monte-Carlo simulation technique that enables the propagation of the above uncertain inputs through the NPV-model, and therefore, generate a more realistic distribution of the plant’s value rather than a single-point/estimate that overlooks these uncertainties. The simulation results derived suggest that in the presence of (operational, economic and regulatory) uncertainties, inherently safe membrane reactor technology options integrated into IGCC plants could become economically viable even in the absence of any valuation being placed on human life or quality of life by considering only equipment damage and interruption of business/lost production cost. Comparatively more attractive NPV distribution profiles are obtained when concrete safety risk-reducing measures are taken into account through pre-investment in process safety (equipment) in a pro-active manner, giving further credence to the thesis that process safety investments may result in enhanced economic performance in the presence of irreducible uncertainties.Process economic analysi

Wave packets for the Quantum Non-Linear Oscillator are considered in the
Generalized Coherent State framerwork. To first order in the non-linearity
parameter the Coherent State behaves very similarly to its classical
