Introduction: Dengue is a viral disease that has caused significant morbidity and mortality in various regions of the world, especially in the tropical and sub-tropical regions. There is a lack of information on knowledge, attitudes and practices of the people regarding dengue infection. Objective of study: The objective of the study was to ascertain the knowledge, attitude and practices of 4th year medical students at Nishtar Medical College in relation to awareness of Dengue fever.Methodology: This was an observational, cross-sectional study in which data was collected by a close ended questionnaire distributed among the students of 4th year medical students. Findings: Data was collected from 146 responses. All respondents (100%) claimed to know about the dengue fever but only 67 (47.95%) of the respondents knew about the causative agent of the disease and only 57 (39%) of the respondents were well aware of the treatment strategies against the infection. A total of 106 (73.28%) of respondents claimed to know the preventive measures. 139 (95%) knew the preventive measures through their well acquaintance with electronic and print media. The study was carried out at Nishtar Medical College, which is one of the biggest Hospital of Asia. Conclusion: The proportion of medical students having adequate knowledge about Dengue infection is not very encouraging. Keywords: Dengue fever, Dengue infection, awareness, knowledge

This paper investigated the perceptions of undergraduate students regarding usability and usefulness of Digital Libraries. A case study was conducted to explore the use of Digital Library (DL) resources in ten undergraduate classes at Shaheed Benazir Butto Women University Peshawar and identified students\u27 perceptions regarding educational digital libraries. Data was collected through survey method using qualitative tools such as observation and interviews. The study examined that university provides internet facility to all students and they have ample access for using Digital libraries but majority of the students are not aware of the use of DLs. Only research students are using digital libraries and most of them use it for research purpose while other using open Web sources for visual and multimedia purpose. Furthermore students did not recognize academic libraries as a useful source for digital images and used various search browsers while searching for visual resources. Students stated that the digital library websites are difficult to navigate and insufficient in providing signs about the richness of resources that it offers. Students’ experiences regarding the use of library website badly affected their perceptions about digital services

Introduction: Sustainable construction practices face significant challenges in eliminating toxic building materials, driven by a lack of awareness among professionals and economic influences shaping regulatory decisions. This study proposes a solution to address these challenges through the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) models capable of analyzing vast datasets to predict material toxicity, with a particular focus on identifying carcinogenic materials. The objective is to provide real-time insights to architects and civil engineers, fostering environments free from harmful building materials and preventing potential health hazards, including cancer. The presence of carcinogenic materials in construction processes poses severe health risks. Asbestos, a commonly used insulation material, is notorious for causing lung cancer. Silica dust, generated during the manipulation of materials like concrete and stone, is associated with lung cancer and respiratory diseases. Benzene, found in certain adhesives, and formaldehyde, present in paints and coatings, are volatile organic compounds classified as known human carcinogens, with links to various cancers. Methods: To comprehensively understand toxic building materials, this paper utilizes existing data to train AI models and create algorithms for material toxicity prediction. These models leverage advanced algorithms, trained on existing datasets, to analyze extensive information. We particularly focus on volatile organic compounds from paints, impregnating agents, fire-induced toxicity, asbestos, radioactive materials, lead plumbing, silica dust, benzene, and formaldehyde. A comparative analysis is employed to determine the most effective model for predicting material toxicity and identifying carcinogenic elements. Results: Our AI-driven models not only predict carcinogenic emissions and environmental cancer risk but also identify alternative substances that align with safety standards and economic considerations. This dual functionality aims to guide professionals in making informed decisions during the construction process, with a heightened emphasis on cancer prevention. The integration of AI-driven approaches will mark a paradigm shift in sustainable construction practices, facilitating informed decision-making and empowering professionals to effectively eliminate toxic building materials, thereby preventing cancer risks. Conclusion: In conclusion, the implementation of AI-driven models for prediction and recommendation of alternate strategies, presents a transformative solution to the challenges faced in sustainable construction. This study underscores the significance of informed decisionmaking, promoting the elimination of carcinogenic building materials and fostering a safer and more sustainable construction industry. This study not only contributes to creating environments that prioritize safety and sustainability but also plays a pivotal role in preventing potential health risks, including cancer. This marks a crucial advancement in the field of sustainable construction practices with a profound impact on public health

Development of teaching competencies has always considered the most prolific dimension in teaching education. It assists teachers in teaching and in preparing to adopt more functional orientation practices beneficial towards teaching practice. This study aimed to investigate the antecedents of teachers’ teaching practices. Primary data through survey was collected from 377 female elementary school teachers from private sector schools based in Karachi. Smart PLS was used for data analysis. Findings of this study revealed a significant relationship among organizational factors, teachers’ professional development and teachers’ teaching practices. This paper contributes to existing knowledge by reporting new empirical evidences from female elementary school teachers. Hence, this research provides practitioners and policy makers with better insights into some practices that could improve teaching practices.
