Higgs boson decays into {\gamma}{\gamma} and Z{\gamma} in the MSSM and BLSSM

We calculate Higgs decay rates into {\gamma}{\gamma} and Z{\gamma} in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) and (B-L) Supersymmetric Standard Model (BLSSM) by allowing for contributions from light staus and charginos. We show that sizable departures are possible from the SM predictions for the 125 GeV state and that they are testable during run 2 at the Large Hadron Collider. Furthermore, we illustrate how a second light scalar Higgs signal in either or both these decay modes can be accessed at the CERN machine rather promptly within the BLSSM, a possibility instead precluded to the MSSM owing to the much larger mass of its heavy scalar state.Comment: Plots slightly modified, no significant chang

Dark Matter Annihilation and the PAMELA, FERMI and ATIC Anomalies

If dark matter (DM) annihilation accounts for the tantalizing excess of cosmic ray electron/positrons, as reported by the PAMELA, ATIC, HESS and FERMI observatories, then the implied annihilation cross section must be relatively large. This results, in the context of standard cosmological models, in very small relic DM abundances that are incompatible with astrophysical observations. We explore possible resolutions to this apparent conflict in terms of non-standard cosmological scenarios; plausibly allowing for large cross sections, while maintaining relic abundances in accord with current observations.Comment: 13 pages, 3 figures; published for publication in Physical Review

Effect Of Non Dental Glass Fiber Orientation On Transverse Strength Of Dental Fiber Reinforced Composite

FRC is widely used in dentistry especially for dental bridges construction. E glass fiber is commonly used because it has good properties and good bonding with polymers. Its availability is limited and its price quite expensive in Indonesia. Non dental glass fiber is available in Indonesia with lower price. The aim of this research was to evaluate the effect of non dental glass fiber orientation on transverse strength of dental FRC. Non dental glass fiber (HJ, China) with two orientations (Roving and Woven roving), Flowable composite (CharmFil Flow, DenKist, Korea) , Silane coupling agent (Monobond S, Ivoclar Vivadent, Liechtenstein) and distilled water. 24 specimens of non dental glass FRC, divided into 2 groups. The specimens was immersed in water for 24 hours and 7 days. The data were analyzed by Independent sample T-test. T-test analysis showed that for transverse strength with 24 hours water immersion there was a significant difference between the two orientation groups (p 0.05). In conclusion: there was different transverse strength between roving and woven roving orientation in dental FRC

Flavour-dependent SUSY phases and CP asymmetry in B -> X_s gamma decays

We study the direct CP asymmetry in B -> X_s gamma decay in SUSY models with non-universal A-terms. We show that the flavour-dependent phases of the A-terms, unlike the flavour-independent ones, can give rise too large contribution to the CP asymmetry while respecting the experimental bounds on the branching ratio of B -> X_s gamma decay and the electric dipole moments of the electron and neutron. The CP asymmetry of this decay is predicted to be much larger than the standard model prediction in a wide region of the parameter space. In particular, it can be of order 10-15% which can be accessible at B factories.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure

Supersymmetric Sum Rules In Minimal Superstring Unification

    Get PDF
The Minimal superstring unification, assuming orbifold compactification, provides interesting and rather detailed implications on physics at low energy. The interesting feature of this model is that the masses of the spectrum are related since all of them are functions of only two parameters: the goldstino angle theta and the gravitino mass m_{3/2}. This fact will help us in studying the modification of the supersymmetric magnetic moments sum rules which are very sensitive to the supersymmetry breaking. We write these rules in case of exact supersymmetry in a form close to the supersymmetric mass relations, namely ∑J(−1)(2J)(2J)AJ=0 \sum_J (-1)^{(2J)} (2 J) A_J=0, where A_J is the anomalous magnetic moment of the spin J particle. We show that the anomalous magnetic moments of the W-boson and the gauginos can be written as functions of theta and m_{3/2}. Then we obtain a modified version of the supersymmetric magnetic moment sum rule in the context of the minimal superstring unification.Comment: Latex, 18 pages, 4 figure
