Correlation between Adomian and Partial Exponential Bell Polynomials

    Get PDF
We obtain some recurrence relationships among the partition vectors of the partial exponential Bell polynomials. On using such results, the nn-th Adomian polynomial for any nonlinear operator can be expressed explicitly in terms of the partial exponential Bell polynomials. Some new identities for the partial exponential Bell polynomials are obtained by solving certain ordinary differential equations using Adomian decomposition method

Some Fractional Calculus results associated with the II-Function

The effect of Marichev-Saigo-Maeda (MSM) fractional operators involving third Appell function on the II function is studied. It is shown that the order of the II-function increases on application of these operators to the power multiple of the II-function. The Caputo-type MSM fractional derivatives are introduced and studied for the II-function. As special cases, the corresponding assertions for Saigo and Erd\'elyi-Kober fractional operators are also presented. The results obtained in this paper generalize several known results obtained recently in the literature.Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1408.476

Saigo Space-Time Fractional Poisson Process via Adomian Decomposition Method

We obtain the state probabilities of various fractional versions of the classical homogeneous Poisson process using an alternate and simpler method known as the Adomian decomposition method (ADM). Generally these state probabilities are obtained by evaluating probability generating function using Laplace transform. A generalization of the space and time fractional Poisson process involving the Caputo type Saigo differential operator is introduced and its state probabilities are obtained using ADM

Sharing e-Health information through ontological layering

e-Health information, including patient clinical and demographic data, is very often dispersed across various environments, which either generate them or retrieve them from different sources. Healthcare professionals often need related e-health information in order to obtain a more comprehensive picture of a patient's health status. There are many obstacles to retrieving information and data from heterogeneous sources. In this paper we show that our ontological layering helps in (a) classifying requests imposed by healthcare professionals when retrieving e-health information from heterogeneous sources and (b) resolving semantic heterogeneities across repositories and composing an adequate answer to issued requests. We use a layered software architectural model based on Generic ontology for Context-aware, Interoperable and Data sharing (Go- CID) software applications, applicable to e-Health environments. Ontological layering and reasoning have been demonstrated with semantic web technologies

Economics of Production of Green Peas (Pisum sativum L.) in Punjab

    Get PDF
The economics of production and factors influencing the productivity of green peas in Punjab have been studied using the primary data from pea growers. The data have been analysed using simple tabular and functional analyses. The results have revealed that the green peas and wheat are the main crops in rabi season. It has been noticed that 75.85 per cent of the farmers purchase pea seeds from dealers. The yield of green peas has been found the highest on small farms among all the farm-size categories. The total cost incurred has been higher in large than small and medium farmers due to more use of inputs by the former. The gross and net returns have been found higher in large than small and medium farmers due to realization of higher prices by them and exploring of other markets due to their higher marketable surpluses. The functional analysis has revealed that the fertilizers, irrigation and machinery are the impact variables, influencing the productivity of green peas positively. The returns over variable costs in the case of peas have been higher by 129 per cent than those in wheat (main competing crop). It has been argued that the farmers be advised by the agricultural extension experts to adopt green pea cultivation for improving the efficiency of the farms through increased income per unit of land. Moreover, it will provide impetus to the diversification program of the state government and improve the soil health.Agricultural and Food Policy,

Psychological Morbidity in Students of Medical College and Science and Art College Students - A Comparative Study

    Get PDF
Considering the importance of quality of life in medical students we have conducted a cross sectional & descriptive study on screening of mental illness of 60 medical students of prefinal year and comparing it with 60 students of third year of Science and Art College. Students were selected via random sampling. GHQ-12 was used as a screening tool and after obtaining scores students were graded in 3 categories - individuals screened positive for psychological morbidity were of Grades 2 and 3 and individuals screened negative for psychological morbidity were of Grade 1 and they were compared according to college, gender & residence. Students screened positive for psychological morbidity as per GHQ-12 were found higher in medical college (87%) as compared to Science and Art College (45%) and a statistically significant association was found between psychological morbidity and medical students. Psychological morbidity was not significantly associated with residence and gender
