Woman, a pillar of strength is always like a lantern in night. Being a creator of life, female plays a wide range of roles in her entire lifespan. Woman’s health is an important aspect in progress & maintenance of wealth for her own family, society and ultimately nation. Woman is as delicate as flower. During different stages of life, she may suffer from various diseases and conditions that affect her physical and emotional well - being which in turn alter her quality of life. Stress incontinence is one of the gynaecological conditions mostly in reproductive as well as postmenopausal age group. It adversely affects physiological as well as psychological health of female & even interfers with the professional life. Most of women feel inconvenience specially in their day to day activities either due to frequent vulval pads they need to use or frequent changing of undergarments. So, it is major problem in front of women and ultimately gynaecologists Stress urinary incontinence is an involuntary escape of urine from the external urinary meatus due to sudden rise in Intra Abdominal Pressure. Women can’t have any natural control on it. Due to it, escape of urine while sneezing, coughing or laughing occurs. It is common condition affecting 25-40% of women. Conservative & surgical methods are available for its management. But due to some drawbacks we need to explore and use Ayurvedic treatments given in Samhitas. Ayurvedic texts has described Uttarbasti in detail. When it is given per urethra as indicated in texts, may help in curing certain diseases related to Apana Kshetra. Stress incontinence can be correlated with Alpalpa Mutrapravrutti in Mutravaha Srotodushti. So, attempt is made to cure stress incontinence with the help of Mutramargagata Uttarbasti

    Get PDF
A single degree-of-freedom torsional vibratory system, which constitutes a third-order dissipative dynamical system, has been fabricated as a mechanical analogue of hard Duffing equation with strong nonlinearity. The forced response of the system reveals complicated and chaotic motion at low frequency regime. Besides usual jump phenomenon, unpredictable jump phenomenon with two and three coexisting periodic attractors is also observed

Background: Orthopaedic surgeons face challenges in treating complex tibial fractures with bone loss due to complications like infection, repeat surgeries, and patient psychological burden. The Ilizarov external fixator approach offers better clinical and radiological results, addressing these issues. The purpose of this study was to examine the outcome of tibial segmental loss treated with the Iliazrov external fixator. Methods: The study was done between January 2015 to December 2021. It’s a prospective as well as retro-prospective study. The age group of 18-65 years was considered. Patients were monitored monthly, up to nine months post-surgery, or until bone union. Functional and bone outcomes of the patients were evaluated using ASAMI criteria, knee society score, and St. Pierre ankle scoring system. Results: The study included 20 patients, all of them were male and had a mean age of 34.1±10.1. Bone union was achieved in all cases. After ilizarov application, the average bone defect was 82.6±42.9 mm. The final regeneration attained was 75.1±47.5 mm. The average limb length difference was 20.41±6.55 mm after achieving union. Out of 20 patients, 13 and 4 had good and fair ASAMI score, 1, 4, and 13 had fair, good, and excellent knee society score, and17 had fair St. Pierre score and 3 patients were lost to follow-up. Conclusions: Ilizarov technique is an excellent way for treating complicated tibial fractures. The difficulties, challenges, and complications associated with Ilizarov external fixation are negligible compared to the significant difficulties associated with open techniques

Mechanical property evaluation of an Al-2024 alloy subjected to HPT processing

An aluminum-copper alloy (Al-2024) was successfully subjected to high-pressure torsion (HPT) up to five turns at room temperature under an applied pressure of 6.0 GPa. The Al-2024 alloy is used as a fuselage structural material in the aerospace sector. Mechanical properties of the HPT-processed Al-2024 alloy were evaluated using the automated ball indentation technique. This test is based on multiple cycles of loading and unloading where a spherical indenter is used. After two and five turns of HPT, the Al-2024 alloy exhibited a UTS value of ~1014 MPa and ~1160 MPa respectively, at the edge of the samples. The microhardness was measured from edges to centers for all HPT samples. These results clearly demonstrate that processing by HPT gives a very significant increase in tensile properties and the microhardness values increase symmetrically from the centers to the edges. Following HPT, TEM examination of the five-turn HPT sample revealed the formation of high-angle grain boundaries and a large dislocation density with a reduced average grain size of ~80 nm. These results also demonstrate that high-pressure torsion is a processing tool for developing nanostructures in the Al-2024 alloy with enhanced mechanical propertie

Objective. A Socio-economic-political-cultural (SEPC) study was undertaken under the Roll Back Malaria (RBM) initiative to understand the process of programme implementation and how far in the changing malaria context, the broader environment has been understood and programme components have undergone changes. Material and Methods. Two studies were carried out; first in four villages under the primary health unit (PHU) Banavaralu in Tiptur Taluka in September 2002 and the second one in April 2003 in four villages in Chitradurga district, namely, Kappagere, Kellodu in Hosadurga Taluka, and Vani Vilas Puram and Kathrikenhally in Hiriyur Taluka. Focus group discussion and key interviews were adopted to collect the qualitative data. Results. Gender discrimination and lack of empowerment of women came out strongly in social analysis. In the rural elected bodies called Panchayats, the concept of health committees was not known. Health committees as one of the important statutory committees under every Panchayat were nonexistent in reality in these villages. Financial difficulties at Grama Panchayat level and also meager budget allocation for health have led to indifferent attitude of Panchayat members towards health. It was observed that there were generally no specific cultural practices in relation to malaria cure. Cultural and traditional practices in malaria-related issues were not predominant in the community except for some sporadic instances. Conclusion and Recommendation. SEPC study is an important indicator in malaria control programme. It is ultimately the community that takes the major decision directly or indirectly and the health authority must guide them in right direction

Struktura radijalnih nultih geodetskih linija u Vaidya-ovom prostoru-vremenu s monopolima

The monopole-charged Vaidya model containing a naked singularity is analyzed for outgoing radial null geodesics. Using the Clarke and Krolak criteria, the curvature strength of naked singularity is examined to show that this is a strong curvature singularity, providing a counter example to cosmic censorship hypothesis (CCH). The graphs of the apparent horizons for different values of parameters have been drawn. An interesting feature which emerges is that, the monopole component pushes the apparent horizon towards the radial axis and thereby increases the radius of the apparent horizon in Vaidya collapse.

The paper has studied the implementation of millets value chain pilot project under the NAIP to create demand for sorghum through diversification in farm production, procurement, ultimately aiming at economical benefits to both farmers and other stakeholders. This 4.5 years novel initiative is still in the mid-way. The study has reported that technological backstopping of sorghum cultivation with end-product specific improved cultivars has realized 51 per cent rise in incremental net income of Rs 16098/ha for the participating farmers (58 per cent rise in kharif and 44 per cent in rabi farmers). The inconvenience in the preparation of sorghum foods which has been the important reason for the decrease in its consumption, has been eliminated through development of convenient and ready-to-eat/cook foods. The factorization of the investment expenditure made per farmer (one acre of sorghum per participating farmer) has been worked out to be Rs 356 (equivalent of Rs 890/ha) in a season resulting in 51 per cent rise in incremental net income over baseline which is slightly higher in kharif sorghum than in rabi sorghum. The output pricing in kharif has helped in attaining these benefits. However, the benefit-cost ratio has worked out in favour of rabi sorghum farmers, i.e. 1:7.5 vis-à-vis kharif farmers BC ratio of 1: 4.2. The study has observed that linking up of the entire stakeholders through value addition throughout the value chain system would renew and uplift the diminishing sorghum area and production and its ultimate economical benefits to farmers and other stakeholders in the value chain.Agricultural and Food Policy,
