The Liner is a composite sandwich construction using multiple layers of Owens Corning Advantex extra corrosion resistant fiberglass, forming a complex unidirectional reinforced structure. This construction achives an unmatched strenght permitting a thinner wall and therefore less reduction of the original diameter. The ring stiffness is very important. The unique design of the Liner gives a very high E-Moduls performance of 10.000 MPa which is unmatched by any other liner on the market. The longitudial reinforcement ensures complete stability troughout the length and prevent any elongation caused by the installation process. The Liner is constructed using extra corrosion resistant fiberglass. The inside of the liner is covered with a polyester veil rich of resin, forming a very smooth and glass-hard surface. In Combination with the unique post-curing at 110 °C, a very high resistance to abrasion and chemicals is achieved

From the Herľany geyser to prove sources of geothermal potential in the Košice basin

Slovakia is a watering place known in the past. A little but very benefit spa lies near the village Herľany below the foothil of the western slopes of the Slanské vrchy Mts. When mineral springs were not able to cover the consumption of the mineral waters in 1870 a well resulting in nowadays unique „ Herľany geyser“ was drilled by Viliam Zsigmondy. In the second half of the 20th century a geological prospecting on oil and natural gas realised in the Košice basin and East Slovakian Neogene basin was. Based on the results, of prospecting structural boreholes, aimed at hydrocarbon prospection, geophysical inestigation and hydrogeological investigation a geothermal potential of this part of the area was confirmed. The geothermal boreholes (GTD-1, GTD-2 and GTD-3) were drilled after 30 years after it. The results from these wells were very positive because the discharge reached 150 litres per second and the temperature of water was 126 °C on the borehole mouth. The time flies and the heasty attested geothermal source in the meantime isn´t utilized enough. The history as well as the today story is known but the perspective of this spring in the future is not clear. Possibilities of its exploitation as an alternative energy source are great but a grand investor is needed. Maybe, the EU-founds will be the only objective future for a prosperity of our followers

Modelling of heat flow in Earths Crust

    No full text
The paper deals with the modelling of the heat flow in the Earths crust. The used three-dimensional model utilises the computer environment where the rock masses are modelled by the set of basic structural elements placed in the orthogonal co-ordinate system x, y, z, while the basic structural element is a cube with a chosen size. The physical notion of the diffusion is utilised for modelling the potentials flow from places with higher value of potentials to the surrounding rock masses. With the help of coefficients of diffusion kx, ky, kz, representing the ability of transmission of the thermal energy being present in the basic structural element of the rock to the adjacent structural elements of the rock model, it is possible to model iso-tropic, anisotropic, or heterogeneous properties of the modelled rock masses, as well as the properties of spreading the heat in this environ-ment
