    RESUMEN: El prop贸sito del presente estudio es evaluar el resultado del programa de educaci贸n econ贸mica Yo y la Econom铆a, en escolares de 6掳 a帽o de Educaci贸n General B谩sica de Temuco, Chile. La muestra incluy贸 cursos de educaci贸n b谩sica, quedando constitu铆da por 211 escolares con 50.2% de varones. La estructura de nivel socioecon贸mico fue de 22% de nivel bajo, 35% medio-bajo, 30% medio-alto y 13% alto. Como instrumento se aplic贸 el Test de Alfabetizaci贸n Econ贸mica para ni帽os. La metodolog铆a fue pre-experimental, pre y post-test con grupo 煤nico, utiliz谩ndose un dise帽o de medidas repetidas. Los resultados indican aumento significativo en los niveles de alfabetizaci贸n econ贸mica posterior al programa, observ谩ndose diferencias significativas seg煤n g茅nero y nivel socioecon贸mico, y efecto de interacci贸n entre hombres y mujeres del nivel socioecon贸mico alto. Los hallazgos se discuten considerando los antecedentes te贸ricos y la implicancia educativa del trabajo. ABSTRACT: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the result of the economic education program called Me and the Economy, in school children of 6潞 grade of Basic General Education in Temuco, Chile. The sample included groups and complete courses, being constituted by 211 school children with 50.2% of them were boys. The structure of socio-economic level was 22% low level, 35% middle-low level, 30% middle-high level and 13% upper level. As an instrument it was applied the Test of Economic Literacy for Children. The methodology was pre-experimental, pre and post-test with a single group, with a repeated measures design. The results show a significant increase in economic literacy levels of participants after the program. It was found significant differences between gender and socio-economic level, and a significant interactive effect between boys and girls of upper socio-economic level. The results are discussed considering the theoretical antecedents of the present research

    Attitudes toward purchase and consumption of education students and teachers in Chile

    La presente investigaci贸n, enmarcada en el Proyecto Fondecyt N掳 1090179, busc贸 identificar diferencias en las actitudes hacia la compra y el consumo entre estudiantes de pedagog铆a y profesores en ejercicio de la ciudad de Temuco. La muestra estuvo conformada por 88 estudiantes y 103 profesores en ejercicio, a los cuales se aplic贸 la Escala de Actitudes hacia el Consumo y la Compra (Tang y Luna, 1999, citado en Gebauer, Sch盲fer y Soto, 2003) y Escala de Materialismo (Richins y Dawson, 1992). Los resultados muestran que las mujeres presentan actitudes racionales en coexistencia con actitudes impulsivas. Por otro lado, los profesores en ejercicio tienen una actitud m谩s racional y tienden a considerar al materialismo como central en sus vidas en comparaci贸n con los estudiantes de pedagog铆a. Los hallazgos se discuten en relaci贸n a los antecedentes existentes en esta l铆nea de investigaci贸n.The present research, enshrined in Project Fondecyt N掳 1090179, searched to identify differences in attitudes toward purchase and consumption between educational students and teachers of the Temuco city. The sample was formed by 88 students and 103 teachers; we applied them the Scale Attitudes toward Consumption and Purchase (Tang y Luna, 1999, citado en Gebauer, Sch盲fer y Soto, 2003) and Materialism Scale (Richins y Dawson, 1992). The results show that women present rational attitudes in coexistence with impulsive attitudes. On the other side, the teachers have a rational attitude and tend to consider the materialism central in their lives compared to educational students.
