    Um estudo sobre a formação do Conselho Municipal LGBT em Florianópolis

    Este estudo aborda a atuação da sociedade civil organizada na criação do Conselho Municipal de Direitos das Pessoas Lésbicas, Bissexuais, Gays, Transexuais e Travestis (CMDLGBT) de Florianópolis (Santa Catarina, Brasil). Emprega discussões sobre democracia a partir do aporte de Tocqueville, onde as associações são um meio de proteção das minorias. Problematiza a existência de uma Tirania da Heteronormatividade, que discrimina a população LGBT. Os conflitos em relação à criação do CMDLGBT são analisados conforme as disputas na Câmara de Vereadores do município. São apresentados neste estudo avanços no setor e é evidenciada a importância do estímulo à proliferação e consolidação das associações LGBT como possibilidade de aperfeiçoamento da democracia e da defesa dos interesses LGBT

    “The lamp of the Esquina” was the first gay newspaper with political engagement in Brazil, becoming a reference in the debate on gender issues in the 1970s during the military dictatorship, commonly called Brazilian left has engaged in the dispute that involved a range of social and political issues. However, starting from the reports of “The Lantern”, the left’s shares at the time, referring to LGBT demands, may be questionable. Thus, this article aims to analyze the 47 newspaper editions searching for content that evidence of the tensions between the left and the LGBT movement in the period in which it was printed. Today most of the left acts in defense of sexual freedom and against gender oppression. However, through this analysis, it was observed that LGBT causes were the last to be understood as policy issues by the left of the time

    The LGBT Pride Parade in São Paulo (Brazil) is one of biggest of its kind in the world. Its 19th edition, which took place in July 2015, was marked by two events that received extensive media coverage: a crucified transgender woman denouncing gender phobias and violence against LGBT people, and a group of Christians bearing the slogan “Jesus cures homophobia”. These episodes triggered significant political debates and disputes, since the fight against LGBT civil rights is an important item on the agenda of Brazilian evangelical politicians, who make up one of the most important political forces in the Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies: the evangelical bench. This article discusses gender disputes and their political implications in the wake of the 19th LGBT Pride Parade in São Paulo, using Pierre Bourdieu’s social theory
