SWOT Analysis with Novel NimbusTech Cloud Computing based Research on Regional Tourism Poverty Alleviation Development Model
Cloud computing has the potential to revolutionize microfinance by providing access to affordable and scalable computing resources. Microfinance institutions (MFIs) can use cloud computing to streamline their operations, reduce costs, and improve their services to clients. Cloud computing can also help MFIs reach new clients by providing a cost-effective platform for deploying and managing new services. Regional tourism can have a significant impact on the local economy, creating jobs and generating income for local businesses. It can also provide opportunities for cultural exchange and contribute to the preservation of natural and cultural heritage sites. A poverty alleviation development model is a framework or approach that is used to reduce poverty in a specific region or community. Effective poverty alleviation development models require collaboration between the government, non-governmental organizations, and local communities. They should also be based on an understanding of the specific needs and priorities of the target population, as well as the broader social, economic, and political context in which they operate. This paper presents a SWOT analysis of a novel cloud computing environment, called NimbusTech, through the lens of a microfinance model for poverty alleviation with a focus on regional tourism. The SWOT analysis examines the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of using NimbusTech to support microfinance initiatives aimed at reducing poverty levels in regions that rely on tourism. The analysis highlights that NimbusTech's strengths include its scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness, which make it an ideal platform for implementing microfinance programs. On the other hand, its weaknesses include data security and privacy concerns, which could undermine trust in the platform. The opportunities for NimbusTech include the potential for leveraging big data analytics to improve the effectiveness of microfinance programs, while the threats include competition from other cloud computing platforms and potential regulatory barriers. Overall, the analysis shows that NimbusTech has the potential to support microfinance initiatives and promote regional tourism as a means of reducing poverty levels, but careful attention must be paid to its weaknesses and threats to ensure its success.
The Influence of Perceived Environmental Impacts of Tourism on the Perceived Importance of Sustainable Tourism
Efforts for investigating perception towards tourism and its perceived negative impacts have
mainly been conducted from the perspective of locals, often ignoring the perception of
tourists on the negative environmental outcomes associated with tourism and its link with the
perceived importance of sustainable tourism from the eyes of tourists. This study investigated
the perception of tourists of the potential impacts of tourism on the natural environment.
Additionally, it examined the influence of perceived environmental impacts of tourism on the
perceived importance of sustainable tourism. The study model was analyzed using Partial
Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) based on data collected from 469
tourists visiting two attractive islands in Malaysia, namely Perhentian Island and Redang
Island. Findings of this research revealed that perceived impacts of tourism on vegetation,
water quality and wildlife had significant influence on the tourists’ perceived importance of
sustainable tourism, while the environmental impacts of tourism on soil, sand and rock, air
quality and landscape did not have any significant influence on the perceived importance of
sustainable tourism. Sustainable tourism in this study was limited to environmentally
sustainable tourism. Study implications are discussed
Locals' perceptions towards the impacts of tourism and the importance of local engagement: A comparative study of two islands in Malaysia
Th is study investigates the perception of locals residing on two touristic islands in Malaysia about the economic,
social, environmental and cultural impacts of tourism development. Additionally, the importance
of local engagement in tourism development was also investigated from the perspective of residents. A total
of 371 responses were collected (183 local residents on Perhentian island and 188 local residents on Redang
island). Results of the study reveal that while residents on both islands perceive the highest environmental
impacts of tourism on water quality, wildlife, and air quality, the environmental impacts are perceived to be
lower for residents of Redang island than in Perhentian island. Besides the detrimental impacts of tourism
on environment, majority of the locals perceive the positive economic, social and cultural impacts of tourism
to be larger than its negative impacts. Additionally, the study found that residents perceived the engagement
of locals in tourism development to be important. Th e fi ndings of this study provide invaluable implications
to tourism development managers and policy makers

An importance-performance analysis of international visitors to Penang, Malaysia
As one of the leading tourism destinations in Malaysia particularly after Kuala
Lumpur and Pahang, Penang faces competition with its neighbouring
competitors. To remain competitive, Penang needs to identify its strengths and
weaknesses and consequently develop its future marketing strategies to secure
high tourists’ satisfaction. Indeed, tourist satisfaction needs to be measured
and monitored. In light of this consideration, it is believed that the importanceperformance
analysis (IPA) was found to be a practical and useful technique
for evaluating attributes that satisfy tourist and at the same time measure the
importance of the same attributes to the tourists. This paper presents an
application of the IPA technique to a sample of 372 international visitors who
visiting Penang Island between September to October 2012. The data, analyzed
quantitatively using matrices, showed the mean score of importance, which
were plotted against performance onto two-dimensional axis. Results show that
Penang performs well in five items namely (1) safety and security; (2) image of
destination; (3) variety of attractions; (4) value for money; and (5)
accessibility to the destination. On the other hands, findings show that there is
room for improvement for accommodation services, and other areas like
friendliness of the people and cultural/historical uniqueness appear to get too
much attention. Moreover, this study is significant in identifying the prime
market segments and evaluating the products and services provided. As a
result, it provides an insight for tourism stakeholder such as hotels operators,
public transport operators, food operators, policy makers and others towards
enhancing future development of tourism in Penang
Corporate Social Responsibility a Case of the Provision of Recreational Facilities
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) connotes Government agencies and private enterprises services for effective change and in this regards the recreational provision. The inadequate provision of the recreational services thwarted recreation, resulting to unsuitable funding of recreational facilities and unsuccessful synergy between government and the private enterprises embarking on CSR. This paper examines the roles of government and the private enterprises in the services of CSR with the view to enhance their performances in the provision of recreational facilities. The paper applied the qualitative method using atlas ti.8 for the data analysis. The findings reveal inadequate facilities provision for recreation resulting from lack of funding, lacklustre attitude and poor synergy of the stakeholders. The paper recommends that government should be positive in implementing policies that promote recreational activities and improving the efforts of the private enterprises for CSR. With the effectiveness and efficiency of the provision of recreation facilities, CSR will be acknowledged as a case of Greater Jos. Plateau State, Nigeria
Holiday satisfaction in Penang, Malaysia: a quantitative perspective analysis of international and domestic tourists
This study centres on tourists’ satisfaction level; with specific attention given to their experience and expectation of
20 holiday attributes during their visits to Penang. The study adapts the model of Holiday Satisfaction (HOLSAT) to
measure the difference between experience and expectation of holiday attributes. The attributes employed are
categorised into four groups, namely accessibility, accommodation, tourist amenities and food/meals. Results are
drawn from a questionnaire survey of 4170 domestic and international tourists who visited Penang in 2014. The data
is analysed quantitatively using matrices that show the mean score of expectation, plotted against the mean score of
experience on a two-dimensional axis. The significance of the results is determined using a paired t-test at a scale of
1:1000. A similar pattern of satisfaction and dissatisfaction level was detected for international and domestic tourists.
Overall, the study observed similar satisfaction and dissatisfaction patterns for all attribute groups, for both
international and domestic groups. Despite a slight difference in p values, both accessibility and accommodation
attributes performed excellently, except for attribute [3] ‘availability of information for tourists at entry points’ as
perceived by the domestic group. However, the results for food/meals and tourist amenities should be of interest to
tourism service providers as these are the attributes that need to be significantly improved upon and enhanced in
order to increase tourists’ positive experience; especially for the domestic group. Specific attention should be
directed towards conserving the ocean and beaches, as they house many of the main tourism developments and
activities
