    Meta-analysis of driving behavior studies and assessment of factors using structural equation modeling

    The aim of this paper is to understand the factors that influence unsafe driving practices by examining published studies that utilized the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to predict driving behavior. To this end, it reviews 42 studies published up to the end of 2021 to evaluate the predictive utility of TPB by employing a meta-analysis and structural equation model. The results indicate that these studies sought to predict 20 distinct driving behaviors (e.g., drink-driving, use of cellphone while driving, aggressive driving) using the original TPB constructs and 43 additional variables. The TPB model with the three original constructs is found to account for 32% intentional variance and 34% behavioral variance. Among the 43 variables researchers have examined in TPB studies related to driving behavior, this study identified the six that are commonly used to enhance the TPB model’s predictive power. These variables are past behavior, self-identity, descriptive norm, anticipated regret, risk perception, and moral norm. When past behavior is added to the original TPB model, it increases the explained variance in intention to 52%. When all six factors are added to the original TPB model, the best model has only four variables (perceived risk, self-identity, descriptive norm, and moral norm); this model increased the explained variance to 48%. The influence of the TPB constructs on intention is modified by behavior category and traffic category. The findings of this paper validate the application of TPB to predict driving behavior. It is the first study to do this through the use of meta-analysis and structural equation modeling

    THE APPLICATION OF GENERAL ENDURANCE EXERCISES TO IMPROVE 3000-METER ARMED RUNS OF MALE MILITIA FORCES AGED 25-28 IN HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM

    A 3000-meter run with guns, a common physical exercise to train endurance in military force, is one of the training and competition contents for male soldiers of the Vietnam People's Armed Forces in general and militia forces in particular. The purpose of this study was to build up a general endurance exercise for male militia forces aged 25-28 in Ho Chi Minh City. Independent samples t-test was used to compare the difference between the experimental and control groups, while Paired sample t-test was used to identify the difference between the pre- and post-experimental. By using the general methods in sport, 12 general endurance exercises were selected and applied for male militia forces in 3000-meter armed runs. Besides, the result showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups (the experimental group had higher scores when compared with the control one) after eight weeks of training.  Article visualizations

    A numerical model for water-oil flow in naturally fractured reservoirs

    This paper describes the development of a three-dimensional, two-phase model for simulating the flow of water and oil in naturally fractured reservoirs. The model is based on the dual porosity approach. Main flow in the reservoir occurs within the fractures with local exchange of fluids between the fracture system and matrix blocks. A new formula for matrix/fracture fluid exchange rate is proposed based on an extension of the equation developed by Kazemi to account the gravity effects. This formula allows to eliminate the matrix pressure in the pressure equation for fractures and makes the solution algorithm easier.Some example calculations are presented to validate the model. These include a comparison of the results of this paper with previous results, showing the gravity effects and applicability of the model for field-scale problems

    HUPSMT: AN EFFICIENT ALGORITHM FOR MINING HIGH UTILITY-PROBABILITY SEQUENCES IN UNCERTAIN DATABASES WITH MULTIPLE MINIMUM UTILITY THRESHOLDS

    The problem of high utility sequence mining (HUSM) in quantitative se-quence databases (QSDBs) is more general than that of frequent sequence mining in se-quence databases. An important limitation of HUSM is that a user-predened minimum tility threshold is used commonly to decide if a sequence is high utility. However, this is not convincing in many real-life applications as sequences may have diferent importance. Another limitation of HUSM is that data in QSDBs are assumed to be precise. But in the real world, collected data such as by sensor maybe uncertain. Thus, this paper proposes a framework for mining high utility-probability sequences (HUPSs) in uncertain QSDBs (UQS-DBs) with multiple minimum utility thresholds using a minimum utility. Two new width and depth pruning strategies are also introduced to early eliminate low utility or low probability sequences as well as their extensions, and to reduce sets of candidate items for extensions during the mining process. Based on these strategies, a novel ecient algorithm named HUPSMT is designed for discovering HUPSs. Finally, an experimental study conducted in both real-life and synthetic UQSDBs shows the performance of HUPSMT in terms of time and memory consumption

The experiment facilities consist of flow measurement equipment, gas and fluid supplier facilities, tubing system. To study the influence of medium physical and dynamical characteristics on the process efficiency, two liquid-gas systems are used, namely, water-air and spindle oil-air. The objects of investigation are to obtain data from tests conducted in some conduits and to analyse the influence of system physical, geometrical and etc. parameters such as: initial liquid height in the conduits, gas injected volume, conduit diameter, conduit configuration and etc. on the considered process

    Innovative capacity in micro, small and medium enterprises: Review of international articles on empirical research

    The purposes of the article are to evaluate the current status of innovation capacity studies and propose directions for future research. Thirty - six articles in international empirical research on business, in particular micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) were identified from Springer, Emerald, and ScienceDirect. Findings reveal most studies on innovation capacity focus on two lines of research: determinants of innovation capacity (process) and consequences on innovation capacities (outcome). The quantitative approach is the dominant research method. Some research directions are proposed that cover outstanding themes as follows: (1) considering quantitative research method, (2) exploring innovation capacity on the service sector, (3) identifying innovation capacity on stakeholders in supply chain perspectives, (4) delving into how firm results can be affected in each type of innovation capacity, (5) examining the mediator of specific types of innovation capacities in the relationship between many other factors such as customer orientation, or market orientation or/and corporate social responsibility and / knowledge management and networking with business outcomes in term of the supply chain perspectives
