The aim of the article is to discuss the question of (glotto)didactic texts from the point of view of glottodidactics. The division of texts into didactic and non-didactic can be drawn according to the criteria of glottodidactic relevance of a given text. The glottodidactic relevance can be defined as the applicability of a given text for reaching an expected glottodidactic aim. Authenticity of didactic text is one that is congruous with the communication situation in which, or for which it was formulated. An original didactic text in turn is one which has not been changed in any way with respect to its original form and contents. Every didactic text must be an authentic text, but it does not necessarily have to be an original text. The characteristic feature of didactic texts may be divided into linguistic features and glottodidactic features. The aim of the article is to discuss the question of (glotto)didactic texts from the point of view of glottodidactics. The last few decades, due to increasingly modern technological solutions, have brought about the possibility of more detailed and in-depth explorations of human brain functioning and its properties. In the first part of the present article, the characteristics of the object of research in linguistics are presented, and in the second, the possibilities of its exploration are described. Special attention was focused on the possibilities of using eye-tracking research in linguistics. Summing up the observations, it should be admitted that in order to make progress in linguistics and to be innovative, experimental research carried out using apparatus must be incorporated and started. However, it must be emphasized that this type of experimental research in linguistics, including obviously eye-tracking studies, is scientifically relevant only to the point that it really contributes to the creation of new knowledge or the verification of scientific knowledge gained earlier, and only if it contributes to the scientific exploration of the object of linguistics

The Internet didactic modules for the purposes of teaching languages and translation have been marked by a low degree of interactivity so far. Tests have been proofed and assessed automatically by an operating system, solely according to the answers entered to the system beforehand. Unlike the previous systems, the aim of the preparation of the Linguistically Smart Software System for Glottodidactics and Translation Didactics is to enable an automatic assessment of all full sentences written by the students themselves. The main goal of the text is to describe a new linguistically smart software, which was developed for Polish and German universities on a largescale in order to teach a given language and translation effectively

    Eyetracking and Applied Linguistics

Eyetracking has become a powerful tool in scientific research and has finally found its way into disciplines such as applied linguistics and translation studies, paving the way for new insights and challenges in these fields. The aim of the first International Conference on Eyetracking and Applied Linguistics (ICEAL) was to bring together researchers who use eyetracking to empirically answer their research questions. It was intended to bridge the gaps between applied linguistics, translation studies, cognitive science and computational linguistics on the one hand and to further encourage innovative research methodologies and data triangulation on the other hand. These challenges are also addressed in this proceedings volume: While the studies described in the volume deal with a wide range of topics, they all agree on eyetracking as an appropriate methodology in empirical research
