    Molecular characterisation of breast cancer patients at high and low recurrence risk

    The ability to predict the recurrence risk in breast cancer patients is not available for the individual. It is commonly accepted that the different clinical course of tumours with identical histology and stage are the result of differences at the molecular level. This case study of 80 patients affected by breast cancer looked at the messenger ribonucleic acid expression level of 22 genes, by using quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction. Our results showed that a panel of seven genes is associated to patients' survival. Moreover, the combination of two couples of genes is able to define short- and long-living cohorts of patients. In particular, our findings strongly demonstrate that retinoblastoma (RB) and cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) on one side and cytokeratin 8 (CK8) and epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) on the other may affect the clinical course of the disease in 56% of patients. Groups characterised by low RB and high CDK2 as with low CK8 and high HER2 have a higher risk of recurrences and death in 5 years. The identification of these sub-groups of patients with higher risk of early relapse could have further involvement in the selection of the cases to submit to therapy against HER2 or CDK2 as a possible therapy target

    Skin melanoma represents one of the most common and lethal solid tumor. It usually develops on the skin but it can occur in any tissues with melanine- containing-cells (extracutaneous malignant melanoma). Only 4-5% of malignant melanomas originate in extracutaneous tissues, and they have an extremely lethal behavior (1). These non-skin malignant melanomas are rare but extremely aggressive. Primary melanoma of the genitourinary tract accounts for less than 0.2% of all melanomas. To date only 28 cases of primary bladder melanoma (PMM) are described. We report a rare case of PMM of the bladder in a 72 years old man treated with radical cystectomy and immunotherapy with Nivolumab

    Developing public transportation resilience against the epidemic through government tax policies: A game-theoretic approach

    Transportation companies have a significant task in creating resilient public transportation during the pandemic. Observance of health protocols by transportation companies can diminish the spread of the disease. However, adhering to health protocols would put additional economic pressure on them. Consequently, providing safe transportation services will require government support. This study examines governments\u27 support policies for safe transportation companies (STCs) through tax exemptions. In this regard, a three-level Stackelberg game model includes government, safe and unsafe transportation companies (UTCs), travel agencies constructed Equilibrium equations are obtained for the decisions of the government, the transport companies, and the passenger company. Then, a case study was conducted on two transportation companies in Isfahan; the effect of tax rates and tax exemption rates on stakeholders has been investigated using the proposed model. Results show that applying for tax exemptions within certain limits on STCs will strengthen them and increase government benefits

    Phonemes have a pivotal and deserving role in the creation of a poem as well as its meaning. In fact, the poet tries to put together phonemes (sounds) which are a combination of vowels and consonants, based on syntagmatic axis and paradigmatic axis in order to make a poem in such a way that attracts the audience attention. Mourice Grammont had a completely different point of view to the phonemes and their consequent inductions. According to his theory every phonemes is followed by a particular induction and based on drawn phonetic diagram, in which there is two main classifications of explosive and non-explosive, nonexplosive sounds (1-labiodental, 2-velar, 3- sibilant, 4-semi vowel) have the most usage and among them velar sounds (س/s), (ز/z) have the most frequency. These sounds are the expressive of feelings like regret, rancor, fear, and discomfort. We by study of poet's life, realize that the use of this sounds is correlated to the conditions of poet's life

    Fast and Efficient Voltage Scheduling by Evolutionary Slack Distribution

    To minimize energy consumption by voltage scaling in design of heterogeneous real-time embedded systems, it is necessary to perform two distinct tasks: task scheduling (TS) and voltage selection (VS). Techniques proposed to date either are fast but yield inefficient results, or output efficient solutions after many slow iterations. As a core problem to solve in the inner loop of a system-level optimization cycle, it is critical that the algorithm be fast while producing high quality results. This paper presents a new technique called Evolutionary Relative Slack Distribution Voltage Scheduling (ERSD-VS) that achieves both speed and efficiency. It addresses priority adjustment and slack distribution issues with low cost heuristics. Experimental results from running publicly available testbenches show up to 42% energy saving compared to a published technique called EVEN-VS. It also shows up to 70 times speed improvement compared to an efficient technique called EE-GLSA
