Creativity training programs in primary education: A systematic review and meta-analysis
The aim of the systematic review was to examine the effectiveness of creativity training programs, interventions, or practices on creativity or divergent thinking in typical developing primary education pupils. A systematic review protocol was designed and implemented, and a systematic literature search was conducted across diverse electronic platforms and databases, as well as other resources. The final sample of high methodological quality studies reviewed was 6. A narrative content analysis approach was adopted, and a random effects analysis with restricted maximum likelihood was used to conduct the meta-analysis. The meta-analytic estimate of the overall effect size of the combined studies shows moderate effect across all studies. The results suggest that some programs, interventions, or practices exist that can effectively help teachers, practitioners, and policy makers to promote creativity or divergent thinking in school-aged children
Knowledge about the care of people with Alzheimer’s disease of the nursing staff of nursing homes in Spain
Abstract: People with Alzheimer’s disease often live in nursing homes. Updated knowledge among the nursing staff has led to better quality of care. The aim of this study was to measure the knowledge about the care of people with Alzheimer’s disease of the nursing staff of nursing homes in Spain. A cross-sectional study was conducted in 24 nursing homes in the province of Jaén (Spain) with a sample of 361 members of staff, i.e., registered nurses (RNs), assistant nurses (ANs), and eldercare
workers (EWs). The University of Jaén UJA-Alzheimer’s Care Scale was used to measure the knowledge.
The knowledge was higher among the RNs (83.3% of the maximum) than among the ANs and EWs (71.6%). Work experience and updated training were associated with the knowledge score in RNs, but only the updated training in ANs and EWs. Nursing homes with less experienced nursing staff and with a small proportion of staff receiving training on dementia have a low knowledge score. The nursing staff of nursing homes in Jaén have medium to high knowledge about Alzheimer’s care. There is a wide range of variation in the knowledge score among the nursing homes. Up-to-date staff training in dementia care is the factor with the strongest association with knowledge
Populism 2.0 in the Spanish public sphere through Twitter
The rise of right-wing populism raises growing concern about the health of representative democracies. In Spain, the emergence of VOX on the political scene has meant the end of Spanish exceptionalism, in addition to conditioning the political and media agenda as well as forcing other political parties to reconsider their strategies. Nowadays, social media occupy a central place in social and political life. Populism has been fuelled by the proliferation of social media such as Twitter, which brings together on the same platform the protagonists of the political debate and spreads messages in a fragmented way and out of the media’s control. This study aims to understand Santiago Abascal’s discursive strategy through a qualitative and quantitative discourse analysis of his posts on Twitter as VOX’s leader during a decisive period for the party. The results indicate how his discourse focuses on building a populist political party that, in addition to basing its appeal on identifying threats and enemies, projects a heroic image of the party through the exaltation of victimization and the proclamation of its achievements using ideological terminology and collective imagination. The study confirms the importance of sentimental and emotional discourse and the role of the party leader in political communications
factores empresariales (Andersen, 1993; Alonso y Donoso, 1998).
Innovation approach defines the internationalization as an innovation, based on the similarities between the
increase international engagement and innovation, considering the latter as important changes of business factors
(Andersen, 1993, Alonso and Donoso, 1998). From this point of view (Innovation Approach or I-Model), in this
paper we focus on defining which market selection approach (systematic, unsystematic and relational) developed
by international firms. From a theoretical perspective, we conclude that the market selection approach is
conditioned by the phase of innovation/internationalization of the firm
Assessing the results of research groups based on available resources and obtaining some indicator of efficiency are issues of great relevance for the design of policies to promote research and development (R&D). Information professionals can contribute to this effort by providing data such as the total number of doctoral theses or publications in the most prestigious journals. The article proposes a methodology for assessing the technical efficiency of research groups based on data envelopment analysis (DEA) and applies it to university research groups in the area of information technology and communications (ICT) in Andalusia
Fatal respiratory failure in a term newborn due to non-previously described compound heterozygous ABCA3 mutations
The adenosine triphosphate binding cassette member A3 (ABCA3) is a lipid transporter involved in pulmonary surfactant biogenesis. ABCA3 deficiency is increasingly being recognized as a cause of respiratory distress syndrome in term neonates. The clinical spectrum and severity of lung disease caused by
ABCA3 mutations vary widely. We present a term newborn who presented respiratory distress short afterbirth. Despite treatment and supportive care, she developed a refractory progressive hypoxic respiratory failure and she died. She received repeated surfactant doses always with transient improvement. She was found to be a compound heterozygote for 2 non-previously described ABCA3 gene mutations, one inherited from each parent
Multivariate analysis and extraction of parameters in resistive RAMs using the Quantum Point Contact model
A multivariate analysis of the parameters that characterize the reset process in RRAMs has been performed. The different correlations obtained can help to shed light on the current components that contribute in the Low Resistance State (LRS) of the technology considered. In addition, a screening method for the Quantum Point Contact (QPC) current component is presented. For this purpose the second derivative of the current has been obtained using a novel numerical method which allows determining the QPC model parameters. Once the procedure is completed, a whole RS series of thousands of curves is studied by means of a genetic algorithm. The extracted QPC parameter distributions are characterized in depth to get information about the filamentary pathways associated with LRS in the low voltage conduction regime.Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness TEC2014-52152-C3-2-R , MTM2013-47929-P (also supported by the FEDER program)IMB-CNM Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness TEC2014-52152-C3-1-R and TEC2014-54906-JIN (supported by the FEDER program)ENIAC Joint Undertaking-PANACHE project.Spanish ICTS Network MICRONANOFAB
