    The effect of Bothriocephalus invasion on blood parameters of grass carp

    In summer 1994, 30 grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) were caught from a pond culture and blood sampling was done, while the fish were alive, for ichthyohaernatologicall examination. The fish and blood were brought to the laboratory, the digestive tract and internal organs of fish were examined for parasitological investigation. Eleven fishes were infected by a tape worm (Bothriocephalus) seriously. Number of parasites in intestine of each fish specimen was between 70 -80 and they cause intestinal obstipation. Amount of haemoglobin, haematocrit value and erythrocyte in infected fishes was lower than healthy fishes

    Presentation an Approach for Placement Phase in Mapping Algorithm

    The data requirements of both scientific and commercial applications have been increasing drastically in recent years. Just a couple of years ago, the data requirements for an average scientific application were measured in terabytes, whereas today we use petabytes to measure them. Moreover, these data requirements continue to increase rapidly every year, and in less than a decade they are expected to reach the exabyte (1 million terabytes) scale.. In this work, the data duplication technique has not been used by us. That’s because of increase in costs and expenses of using a cloud system.In this paper, an approach to mapping workflow tasks and data between cloud system data centers has been presented. This approach encompasses 2 phases: both of which both have been given enough input to appropriately map tasks and data between data centers in such a way that the total time for task execution and data movement becomes minimal. In other words, the goal of mentioned approach is to present a trade-off between these two Goals. Simulations have demonstrated that the said approach can fulfill stated goals effectively.     Investigation of mercury concentration and its interaction with zinc and selenium at the muscle and liver tissues of Whitecheek Shark (Carcharhinus dussumieri) from Persian Gulf

    Mercury, zinc and selenium concentrations were analyzed in the muscle and liver of 25 Whitecheek Shark (Carcharhinus dussumieri) from the coast of Bandar Abbas. The level of Hg accumulation and its interaction with Zn and Se in Whitecheek Shark were studied. Hg, Zn and Se concentrations were determined by an Advanced Mercury Analyzer (LECO, AMA 254), Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (ASS,PU 9400) and Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (Perkin Elmer 3030) respectively. The mean (±SD) of Hg, Zn and Se concentrations were 0.05±0.02, 0.92±0.25 and 0.13±0.05µg/g wet wt in the muscle and 1.07±0.86, 1.57±0.43 and 0.46±0.19µg/g wet wt in the liver tissues, respectively. The mean of Hg, Zn and Se in liver tissue was significantly higher than muscle tissue. Also, 64% of liver samples showed levels above the acceptable limit established by WHO and FAO. A positive correlation was found between Hg and Se concentrations in the muscle and liver tissues with weight and length variables were statistically significant. In this study, the accumulation of Se in the muscle and liver of Whitecheek shark showed a positive correlation with Hg concentration. The mean molar ratio of Se to Hg found in the muscle and liver were 6.36±1.77 and 2.74±3.61, respectively. Positive correlations between Hg and Se showed efficient detoxifying mechanism and as a result, the possibility of reduction in toxicity of mercury in both tissues via Se-Hg complexes or the binding of Hg with selenoproteins

    Eyelid Carcinoma in Patients with Systemic Lymphoma

    Purpose: To describe a series of patients with Non-Hodgkin′s lymphoma (NHL) and concomitant eyelid carcinoma. Methods: In this non-comparative interventional case series, we retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 5 patients with NHL who developed eyelid carcinoma. Results: The patients included one female and four male subjects. Systemic lymphoma had been diagnosed 1 to 72 months prior to development of the eyelid carcinoma. The lesions were basal cell carcinoma in three, and squamous cell carcinoma in two cases. The lymphoma was advanced (stage III or IV) in all patients. Four patients underwent surgical excision of the carcinoma and one patient was awaiting surgical treatment after completing systemic chemotherapy. Three subjects had high-grade carcinomas. Two patients had perineural invasion; one received adjuvant radiotherapy postoperatively but the other did not due to receiving systemic chemotherapy for recurrent NHL. Conclusions: Systemic lymphoma may be associated with aggressive eyelid carcinomas. Perineural invasion is frequently encountered in this situation and should be treated with adjuvant radiation therapy to decrease the likelihood of local recurrence

    Correlation of length and weight with mercury concentration in different tissues of Kutum Roach (Rutilus frisii kutum) in central south of Caspian Sea

    We used Mercury Analyzer to assess possible correlation between length and weight of the Kutum Roach (Rutilus frisii kutum) and mercury accumulation in different tissues of the fish. We collected fish specimens from central south Caspian Sea from October to December 2005. After biometrical measurement of samples and sex determination, mercury concentration was assessed in muscle, liver and skin tissues of the specimens. The mean concentration of mercury in muscle, liver and skin tissues was 849.9, 670.9 and 493.7ng/g respectively. Statistical analysis of the results showed a significant difference between mercury amounts in different tissues (P0.05). The mercury amount in muscle of Kutum Roach was lower than permissible limits proposed by FDA (1004ngig)

    Update on Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors for Conjunctival Melanoma

    The management of conjunctival melanoma is challenging due to the more frequent local recurrence and metastasis compared to other conjunctival neoplasms. Locally advanced conjunctival melanoma may require an orbital exenteration, and treatment options for metastatic conjunctival melanoma have been limited until recently. This review aims to provide comprehensive updates on immunotherapy for conjunctival melanoma, focusing on immune checkpoint inhibitors. We reviewed the available literature on the use of immunotherapy for the treatment of conjunctival melanoma. Systemic immunotherapy, particularly with checkpoint inhibitors, has recently been reported to have improved outcomes for patients with conjunctival melanoma. Immune checkpoint inhibitors that are currently approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for melanoma include anti-PD-1 (nivolumab and pembrolizumab), anti- PDL-1 (avelumab and atezolizumab), and anti-CTLA-4 inhibitors (ipilimumab). Most recent reports described using immune checkpoint inhibitors in patients with locally advanced conjunctival melanoma in an attempt to avoid orbital exenteration or in patients with metastatic conjunctival melanoma. Although the current data are limited to case reports and small case series, eye care providers should be aware of the potential role of immunotherapy for patients with locally advanced, recurrent, or metastatic conjunctival melanoma

    The correlation of length and weight of Kutum (Rutilus frisii kutum) in the central south of Caspian Sea with copper and zinc concentration in muscle and liver tissues

    Concentration of copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) in liver and muscle tissues of Kutum (Rutilus frisii kutum) of the Caspian Sea was assessed to study possible correlation of length and weight and the bioaccumulation of these heavy metals in the fish. Concentration of the metals in liver was higher than muscle (Zn: 55.2, Cu: 41.5 kg/g) while the concentrations in the muscle tissue were lower than permissible limits proposed by FAO. Significant correlations were not detected between mean Zn and cu concentration and fish size. Finally, no significant difference was found in the concentration of the heavy metals in male and female fish specimens (P>0.05)
