    Anomalous diffusion in polymers: long-time behaviour

    We study the Dirichlet boundary value problem for viscoelastic diffusion in polymers. We show that its weak solutions generate a dissipative semiflow. We construct the minimal trajectory attractor and the global attractor for this problem.Comment: 13 page

    Diffusion of a penetrating liquid in a polymeric material does not often satisfy the classical diffusion equations and requires taking relaxational (viscoelastic) properties of the polymer into account. We investigate a boundary value problem on a bounded domain in space for the set of equations modelling this abnormal diffusion. It is proved that, for any sufficiently short time segment and any stress prescribed at the beginning of this segment, there exists a global in time weak solution of the boundary value problem (a pair: concentration - stress) such that the concentrations at the beginning and at the end of the segment are the same. Under an additional assumption on coefficients, existence of time-periodic weak solutions (without any restrictions of the period length) is shown.Comment: 26 pages, in Russia

    Search for single production of a vector-like T quark decaying to a top quark and a Z boson in the final state with jets and missing transverse momentum at s \sqrt{s} = 13 TeV

    A search is presented for single production of a vector-like T quark with charge 2/3 e, in the decay channel featuring a top quark and a Z boson, with the top quark decaying hadronically and the Z boson decaying to neutrinos. The search uses data collected by the CMS experiment in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb1^{−1} recorded at the CERN LHC in 2016–2018. The search is sensitive to a T quark mass between 0.6 and 1.8 TeV with decay widths ranging from negligibly small up to 30% of the T quark mass. Reconstruction strategies for the top quark are based on the degree of Lorentz boosting of its final state. At 95% confidence level, the upper limit on the product of the cross section and branching fraction for a T quark of small decay width varies between 15 and 602 fb, depending on its mass. For a T quark with decay widths between 10 and 30% of its mass, this upper limit ranges between 16 and 836 fb. For most of the studied range, the results provide the best limits to date.     Inclusive and differential cross section measurements of ttˉbbˉ\mathrm{t\bar{t}b\bar{b}} production in the lepton+jets channel at s\sqrt{s} = 13 TeV

    Measurements of inclusive and normalized differential cross sections of the associated production of top quark-antiquark and bottom quark-antiquark pairs, ttbb, are presented. The results are based on data from proton-proton collisions collected by the CMS detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb1^{-1}. The cross sections are measured in the lepton+jets decay channel of the top quark pair, using events containing exactly one isolated electron or muon and at least five jets. Measurements are made in four fiducial phase space regions, targeting different aspects of the ttbb process. Distributions are unfolded to the particle level through maximum likelihood fits, and compared with predictions from several event generators. The inclusive cross section measurements of this process in the fiducial phase space regions are the most precise to date. In most cases, the measured inclusive cross sections exceed the predictions with the chosen generator settings. The only exception is when using a particular choice of dynamic renormalization scale, μR=12i=t,tˉ,b,bˉmT,i1/4\mu_\mathrm{R}=\frac{1}{2} \prod_{i=\mathrm{t, \bar{t}, b, \bar{b}}} m_{\mathrm{T},i}^{1/4}, where mT,i2=mi2+pT,i2m_{\mathrm{T},i}^2=m_i^2+p^2_{\mathrm{T},i} are the transverse masses of top and bottom quarks. The differential cross sections show varying degrees of compatibility with the theoretical predictions, and none of the tested generators with the chosen settings simultaneously describe all the measured distributions

The analysis is based on an event sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected by the CMS experiment in 2018 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 33.6 fb1 ^{-1} . Normalizing to the J/ψμ+μ {\mathrm{J}/\psi} \to\mu^{+}\mu^{-} decay mode leads to a branching fraction of [ [ 10.1 2.7+3.3 ^{+3.3}_{-2.7} (stat) ±\pm 0.4 (syst) ]×] \times 107^{-7}, a value that is consistent with the standard model prediction.The J/ψ→μ+μ-μ+μ- decay has been observed with a statistical significance in excess of five standard deviations.
