    Industrial Water Management Policy Comparative Analysis & Comparison of Water Pricing

    This study contributes comparative analysis and comparison of current water policy  in the industrial sector. Current water policies fail to adequately address water use and pricing issue. This study concentrates on industry perspective questionnaires method; next we calculate water use in the industry during specific year plan from 1988 to 2013.Understanding the interactions of industry & water policies is crucial for achieving efficient management of water resources.  Increasing population and economic growth continue to drive industries demand water resources. The interaction of these resources is particularly important in a textile sector where water resources are unevenly distributed, with limited availability in specific regions. The “3 Red Lines” water policies were introduced in 2011; one of their aims is to reduce industrial water use. Water is currently not valued correctly by stakeholders; this is a major problem in itself and contributes to misuse. This paper analyses current water withdrawals and consumption for China, Japan, Bangladesh, UK, USA and assesses the water pricing with the industrial water policy under different scenarios, considering potential future policy. It is therefore, an imperative for policy makers to coordinate their activities in such a way that adequate supply of water is provided and efficient use of it is made and to respond quickly and timely to the structural changes of the economy and to prevent a water crisis in the country. The purpose of this paper is to undertake a in the industry in order to understand this potential policy conflict. The paper aims to illustrate appropriate policy direction and management practices.     PROPERTIES OF GAS AND CHAR FROM MICROWAVE PYROLYSIS OF PINE SAWDUST

    Pine sawdust pyrolysis was carried out respectively using microwave and conventional electrical heating at different temperatures in order to understand the properties of pyrolytic products from microwave pyrolysis of biomass. Less char material was obtained by microwave pyrolysis compared to conventional heating at the same temperature. While comparing the components of the pyrolytic gases, it was revealed that the microwave pyrolysis gas usually had higher H2 and CO contents and lower CH4 and CO2 contents than those obtained by conventional pyrolysis at the same temperature. The texture analysis results of the microwave pyrolysis chars showed that the chars would melt and the pores would shrink at high temperatures, and hence, the specific surface areas of the chars decreased with increasing temperature. Similarly, the reactivity of the char was remarkably reduced when the microwave pyrolysis temperature exceeded 600°C

    The role of globular heads of the C1q receptor in HPV 16 E2-induced human cervical squamous carcinoma cell apoptosis is associated with p38 MAPK/JNK activation

    BACKGROUND Human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV 16) E2 protein is a multifunctional DNA-binding protein. HPV 16 E2 regulates many biological responses, including DNA replication, gene expression, and apoptosis. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among the receptor for globular heads of the human C1q (gC1qR) gene expression, HPV 16 E2 transfection and apoptosis regulation in human cervical squamous carcinoma cells (C33a and SiHa). METHODS gC1qR expression was examined in C33a and SiHa cells using real-time PCR and Western blot analysis. Apoptosis of C33a and SiHa cells was assessed by flow cytometry. C33a and SiHa cell viability, migration and proliferation were detected using the water-soluble tetrazolium salt (WST-1) assay, a transwell assay and 3H-thymidine incorporation into DNA (3H-TdR), respectively. RESULTS C33a and SiHa cells that were transfected with a vector encoding HPV 16 E2 displayed significantly increased gC1qR gene expression and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK)/c-jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) activation as well as up-regulation of cellular apoptosis, which was abrogated by the addition of gC1qR small interfering RNA (siRNA). Furthermore, the changes in C33a and SiHa cell viability, migration and proliferation that were observed upon HPV 16 E2 transfection were abrogated by SB203580 (a p38 MAPK inhibitor) or SP600125 (a JNK inhibitor) treatment. CONCLUSION These data support a mechanism whereby HPV 16 E2 induces apoptosis by silencing the gC1qR gene or inhibiting p38 MAPK/JNK signalling in cervical squamous cell carcinoma.This study was supported by grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 81000251) and the Nanjing Medical Science and Technique Development Foundation

    Spectra of Baryons Containing Two Heavy Quarks in Potential Model

    In this work, we employ the effective vertices for interaction between diquarks (scalar or axial-vector) and gluon where the form factors are derived in terms of the B-S equation, to obtain the potential for baryons including a light quark and a heavy diquark. The concerned phenomenological parameters are obtained by fitting data of B()B^{(*)}-mesons instead of the heavy quarkonia. The operator ordering problem in quantum mechanics is discussed. Our numerical results indicate that the mass splitting between B3/2(V),B1/2(V)B_{3/2}(V), B_{1/2}(V) and B1/2(S)B_{1/2}(S) is very small and it is consistent with the heavy quark effective theory (HQET).Comment: 16 page

    Association of Two Polymorphisms in CCL2 With Parkinson's Disease: A Case-Control Study

    Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is the most common neurodegenerative movement disorder that is known to be related to neuro-inflammation. Chemokines participate in this process usually through upregulation of expression levels, which are closely related to the polymorphisms in their genes. Recent studies have further revealed the association between these polymorphisms and the risk of PD in multiple populations, but not the Chinese Han population.Methods:The promoter region of CCL2 was sequenced in 411 PD patients and 422 gender-age matched control from a Chinese Han population using PCR-RFLP method. Their genotype frequencies were analyzed statistically. Dual-luciferase reporter assays were conducted in neuroblastoma cells to assess the promoter transcriptional activity of the rs1024611 variants (T>C) and the GRCh38.p12chr17:34252593 G>C alleles in CCL2.Results:We found that the frequency of the CCL2 genotype of rs1024611 was significantly different between the PD and control groups (p = 0.021), while the C allele was associated with a significantly increased risk in the PD group (p = 0.004). Moreover, C allele of this newly identified alteration in CCL2 (GRCh38.p12chr17:34252593 G>C) was also found to be associated with an increased risk of PD (P genotype = 0.006, P allele = 0.006). Dual-luciferase reporter assay results indicated that rs1024611 C allele and GRCh38.p12chr17:.34252593 C allele increased the transcriptional activity of the CCL2 promoter.Conclusions: We, for the first time, report a risk polymorphism (rs1024611) and a new locus (GRCh38.p12chr17:.34252593 G>C) on CCL2, both of which are suggested as risk factors for PD in a Chinese Han population
