    Analysis of Climate Index with Historical Burn Analysis Method for Climate Change Adaptation (a Case Study in Pacitan District, East Java)

    Drought recurrently occurs in Indonesia, and it is one of the climate-related hazards that has a major impact on agriculture and food security. However, there is no a scheme, which allows any damages in agriculture associated with drought event will get an insurance. This study aims to analyze the climate index based on the potency of drought in Pacitan District, East Java to support the development of climate index insurance as an effort to climate change adaptation. This study used a climate index derived from monthly rainfall data, which was calculated based on the historical burn analysis (HBA) method. We examined climate index and measured exit value as representing of the lowest value which payment of insurance should be fully paid. Our results showed that the value varies among sub-districts in Pacitan. Kebonagung sub-district revealed the highest exit value (89 mm), which means the insurance company should pay the full insurance coverage if the rainfall in the period insured below 89 mm. The lowest exit value (18 mm) was in Pringkuku sub-district. Our finding revealed that the index HBA is suitable to be applied in regions with limited climate data. Furthermore, our approach could be one of the strategies to cope with drought to stabilize rice production during the dry season. For wide implementation, supports from government through regulation is needed

    Human resource management is one of the factors that determine the success or failure of the company. In order to determine the role and contribution of human resources in achieving success, of course necessary performance measurement. Employee performance is influenced by several factors, including the culture of work, work discipline and occupational health and safety (K3). Including employee performance degradation caused by the work culture that has not been fully implemented, the lack of discipline of employees and service to lack of K3. PT Apac Inti Corpora is a company engaged in the field of textile products such as yarn, gray fabric and denim fabric.This research aims to know and explain the influence of positive work culture, discipline of work and employee performance against K3 remains part of the production unit spinning 2 PT Apac Inti Corpora. This research is explanatory research type approach uses against 79 respondents with Incidental technique. Data collection techniques in the research using interview techniques, questionnaire and the study of librarianship. The data obtained were analyzed quantitatively using a cross-tabular analysis tools, test validity, reliability test, a simple linear regression, multiple linear regression and hypothesis testing by t-test and F-test as well as using the help application programs SPSS 20.0 for Windows.Results of the statistical analysis shows the work culture, work discipline and K3 has a positive influence on performance of employees. Seen from the calculation of the coefficients of the regression test, where the influential work of cultural 0,098, discipline working effect of 0.125, K3 and influential of 0,496. From these results it is known that the greatest influence affecting performance variable (Y) is K3 variables (X3).Advice that can be given in this research to enhance implementation of the cultural work by conducting briefings on a regular basis so that culture can be lived and practiced. Companies need to improve discipline by giving sanction expressly and reprimand for employees, whereas for the implementation of K3 enterprises need to increase socialization and simulation of safety. As well as the need for continued research by companies or parties outside the company about other free variables that can provide an additional contribution to improving the performance of employees

    Development of service industries, especially the hospitality industry today is one business that began in great demand by investors in Indonesia. With the improving economic growth and make the hotel business is not only to meet the accommodation needs of tourists, but also used as a lobby, parties, weddings, seminars and accommodation both business and government activities. For any guests or customer service quality factor, and price become the benchmark in customer satisfaction. The existence of good service, and the appropriate price will have an impact on customer satisfaction made​​. Good customer satisfaction will impact on hotel room occupancy rate increased. This study aimed to determine how much influence the service quality, and price to customer satisfaction on Hotel Pandanaran Semarang either partially or simultaneously.     This study aimed to determine the effect of price, service quality and brand image of the decision of policyholder in choosing Jiwasraya Insurance. Type of research is explanatory research. With a sample of 95 respondents who use Jiwasraya insurance through non probabiliti sampling technique which is purposive sampling. The analysis technique uses test validity, reliability testing, simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, T test and F test with SPSS tools 16. The results of this study indicate that the price, service quality, and brand image of Jiwasraya Insurance is quite good. Purchasing decisions are also included in good categorization. The influence rate of price on purchase decisions is 35.9%. The influence rate of service quality on purchase decisions is 26.8%. The influence rate of brand image on purchase decisions is 50.5%. Simultaneously, the influence rate of price, service quality and brand image is at 58.5%. Based on data analysis, it can be inferred partially and simultaneously that the price, service quality and brand image significantly influence purchasing decisions and have a strong level of closeness relationship. It is suggested that companies need to enhance the benefits obtained, quality of service and maintain the existence of the company so that the company\u27s existence remains credible and finally leads to higher purchasing decisions

    This research is conducted to discover the influence of product quality, Promotion, and Brand Image on Purchase decision to Women Smoker in Tembalang District. Type of this research is Explanatory Resesarch. Population used for this research is consumer that bought Marlboro. Samples used for this research are 100 respondents whom counted with Slovin formula. Sample collection sample is Non Probability Sampling. Questioner and Interview used to collecting data for this research. To analyze the data method used is linear regression analysis.Result of this research show that product quality, promotion, and brand image has impact on purchase decision. Product quality, promotion, and brand image are able to explain (punctuate) purchase decision variable in amount of 87.8% which influenced by product quality (32.7%), Promotion (15.6%), Brand Image (87.7%). These variables have significant impact on purchase decision of Marlboro in Tembalang District with the most influential variable is Brand Image.Author suggests that the producer give more education to its salesperson regarding the product, make some innovation in the design of the packaging and the cigarette filter in order to attract the consumer, especially women smoker

    Modified Distribution (MODI) method of the operation research\u27s in Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Adisutjipto Informatic Engineering is one of method which optimal solution low cost in the transportation model. MODI is using Northwest Corner method to determine the initial allocation, which will be processed to obtain a more optimal solution. MODI method is aplied to a desktop-based application that aims to help lecturer on presentation material. The results of 2 test on 1 primary user respondent 85,81% for 30 questions, test of 30 secondary user respondent with, Display/Graphical User Interface (GUI) (74,67%), Speed/Conveniences Of Access to information (80,92%), Accuracy Of Information (82,89%), and User Satisfaction (81,90%).     This study aimed to determine the effects of variable product quality, location and satisfaction through customer loyalty at Mertojoyo Cake Semarang. There were 100 respondents as the sample of this research, who were the customer of Mertojoyo Cake Semarang. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Whereas, the method of analysis used in this research was path analysis. From the analysis of the data is known that from the product quality category, 9 per cent stated it was quite good, 57 percent stated good, and 34 percent stated very good. From location category, 42 percent stated it was not on a good location, 53 percent stated quite good, and 5 percent stated it was on a good location. From satisfaction category, 39 percent stated quite high, 56 percent stated high, and 5 percent stated very high. From customer loyalty category, 31 percent stated it was quite high, 60 percent stated high and 9 percent stated very high. Product quality variables affect the customer loyalty at 48.1 percent. Partially, location variable does not affect customer loyalty, but simultaneously, it does. The determination coefficient is 0.5 percent. Satisfaction variables affect the customer loyalty at 14.3 percent. Taken together, product quality, location and satisfaction affect the customer loyalty at 56.1 percent. This means the better the product quality, location and satisfaction of customers, the better the customer loyalty

    This research is motivated by consumer behaviour which are varied and difficult to predict that causes the business world changes so fast. Consumers wants a products that suits their taste, lifestyle, and their needs. This leads the companies to experiencing strict competition caused by the increasingly consumer complex demands. One of the product that always follow consumer tastes is shoes. Shoes is no longer needed only for a footwear that protects feet from sharp objects, but also as a fashion product, so the design, material, and pattern became very varied. However, in the period 2009-2013 the sales of Converse sneakers shoes has fluctuated and always under Adidas, Nike and Bata.The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lifestyle, brand imange and product quality on purchase decision of Converse sneakers shoes. This research method is explanatory, with data collection through questionnaires and interviews. The sampling technique used purposive and proportional technique sampling. The samples are 96 peoples whom are college student of Diponegoro University Semarang. The analysis technique used was qualitative and quantitative. Quantitative analysis using validity, reliability,correlation coefficient, coefficient of determination, simple and multiple regression analysis, as well as the significance test (t test and F test). The results of this study showed a relatively good level of lifestyle, brand image and product quality and high purchase decision.All independent variables, namely lifestyle (X1), brand image (X2), and product quality (X3) together (simultaneously) or individually (partial) affect purchase decision dependent variable (Y). Advice that can be given is the need to improve ways of promotion, innovate in the design of Converse sneakers that are to not assessed as monotonous and provide many options to purchases Converse sneakers shoes
