Hawking radiation-quasinormal modes correspondence for large AdS black holes
It is well-known that the non-strictly thermal character of the Hawking
radiation spectrum generates a natural correspondence between Hawking radiation
and black hole quasinormal modes. This main issue has been analyzed in the
framework of Schwarzschild black holes, Kerr black holes and nonextremal
Reissner-Nordstrom black holes. In this paper, by introducing the effective
temperature, we reanalysis the non-strictly thermal character of large AdS
black holes. The results show that the effective mass corresponding to the
effective temperature is approximatively the average one in any dimension. And
the other effective quantities can also be obtained. Based on the known forms
of frequency in quasinormal modes, we reanalysis the asymptotic frequencies of
the large AdS black hole in three and five dimensions. Then we get the formulas
of the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy and the horizon's area quantization with
functions of the quantum "overtone" number .Comment: 6 page
Flowering phenology and floral visitors of Piliostigma reticulatum in a tropical dry forest, Burkina Faso
Piliostigma reticulatum is a dioecious species that provides food, fodder and the revenues from the sale of its pods constituted an important resource for sahelian population. During the flowering, flowers are abundant but the fruit set remained very low in spite of a large number of insect visitors. The aim of this work was to study flowering phenology, to identify potential pollinators and visitors, to determine the visitation rate and the synchronism between floral phenology and the insect visitors. The natural population studied is located at Budtenga in the North Sudanian area of Burkina Faso. The phenological study was carried out from July 2009 to December 2009 on 500 inflorescences randomly sampled from inflorescences of 40 male and female individuals. Potentials pollinators were determined using their physical ability to carry pollen in their body and the reference based diets. Our results showed that many orders of insects visit the flowers of P. reticulatum. Nymphalidae (Lepidoptera), Syrphidae (Diptera), Apidae (Hymenoptera) and Sphecidae (Hymenoptera) were regarded as main potential pollinators of P. reticulatum. Apidae (Apis mellifera) was the most abundant and frequent visitor. We found that August was the peak flowering period for both male and female individuals and the peak emergence of potential pollinators. Therefore, the emergence of potential pollinators responsible for pollen dispersal might be punctuated by flowering phenology.Keywords: Caesalpinioideae, P. reticulatum, phenology, visitors, Sudanian fores
Fruit and seed production in a natural population of a dioecious plant: Piliostigma reticulatum HOSCHT (Caesalpinioïdeae)
Plant fruit/seed production is a central subject of many questions in plant evolutionary and conservation biology. In the Sudano-Sahelian forest of Burkina Faso, fruit and seed production of a common dioecious shrub, Piliostigma reticulatum, were assessed by considering plant size, fruiting success and distance between male and female individuals. The results showed that P. reticulatum has a low production of fruits and seeds (17.63 g ± 3.33 SE of fruit per plant and 0.1045 g ± 0.0018 SE per seed). A large percentage of the seeds aborted (40%) and were damaged by herbivory (10%). The fruiting success ranged from 0.1 to 0.4. The percentage of seeds attacked by insects was negatively correlated with the mean diameter of the canopy and the height of trees. When the female of P. reticulatum was more than 10 meters from the male, fruit and seed productions were greater. The conclusion was that losses of flowers and fruits were important and suggested further information on pollination limitation or genetic studies to identify the cause of the insufficient quality and quantity of fruit and seed productions of P. reticulatum.Keywords: Piliostigma reticulatum, dioecious, fruiting success, soudanian forest, Burkina Fas
Design a Robust RST Controller for Stabilization of a Tri-Copter UAV
Research on the tri-rotor aerial robot is due to extra efficiency over other UAV’s regarding stability, power and size requirements. We require a controller to achieve 6-Degree Of Freedom (DOF), for such purpose, we propose the RST controller to operate our tri-copter model. A MIMO model of a tri-copter aerial robot is challenged in the area of control engineering. Ninestates of output control dynamics are treated individually. We designed dynamic controllers to stabilize the parameters of an UAV. The resulting system control algorithm is capable of stabilizing our UAV to perform numerous operations autonomously. The estimation and simulation implemented inMATLAB, Simulink to verify the results. All real flight test results are presented to prove the success of the planned control structure
Online social capital : mood, topical and psycholinguistic analysis
Social media provides rich sources of personal information and community interaction which can be linked to aspect of mental health. In this paper we investigate manifest properties of textual messages, including latent topics, psycholinguistic features, and authors\u27 mood, of a large corpus of blog posts, to analyze the aspect of social capital in social media communities. Using data collected from Live Journal, we find that bloggers with lower social capital have fewer positive moods and more negative moods than those with higher social capital. It is also found that people with low social capital have more random mood swings over time than the people with high social capital. Significant differences are found between low and high social capital groups when characterized by a set of latent topics and psycholinguistic features derived from blogposts, suggesting discriminative features, proved to be useful for classification tasks. Good prediction is achieved when classifying among social capital groups using topic and linguistic features, with linguistic features are found to have greater predictive power than latent topics. The significance of our work lies in the importance of online social capital to potential construction of automatic healthcare monitoring systems. We further establish the link between mood and social capital in online communities, suggesting the foundation of new systems to monitor online mental well-being
Towards Efficient Data Valuation Based on the Shapley Value
"How much is my data worth?" is an increasingly common question posed by
organizations and individuals alike. An answer to this question could allow,
for instance, fairly distributing profits among multiple data contributors and
determining prospective compensation when data breaches happen. In this paper,
we study the problem of data valuation by utilizing the Shapley value, a
popular notion of value which originated in coopoerative game theory. The
Shapley value defines a unique payoff scheme that satisfies many desiderata for
the notion of data value. However, the Shapley value often requires exponential
time to compute. To meet this challenge, we propose a repertoire of efficient
algorithms for approximating the Shapley value. We also demonstrate the value
of each training instance for various benchmark datasets
Corrosion Types of Magnesium Alloys
Magnesium (Mg) alloys are susceptible to corrosion in aggressive environments. Corrosion of Mg alloys depends greatly on their composition and microstructure (grain size, the size, shape and distribution of second phases), post-processing and media. In most cases, localized corrosion, such as pitting corrosion and filiform corrosion, generally occurs due to microgalvanic corrosion between the intermetallic compounds and their neighboring α-Mg matrix. However, open literature reported that several corrosion morphologies, that is, intergranular corrosion (IGC) and exfoliation corrosion (EFC), cannot appear on Mg alloys. In this chapter, all typical corrosion modes of Mg alloys and influencing factors are introduced, including general corrosion, galvanic corrosion, pitting corrosion, filiform corrosion, IGC, EFC, stress corrosion cracking (SCC), corrosion fatigue (CF) and so on.
