    The objectives of this research were to find liberal feminist values and to discover Maleficent's personality traits in the film Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. This research employed Tong's liberal feminist theory to find liberal feminist values and used McCrae & Costa's theory to discover Maleficent's personality traits. The data were analyzed using a qualitative method. The data were taken from the film Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. This research discovered that Maleficent, as the main character, demonstrated that women deserved to be acknowledged as rational women and deserve to get the same civic liberties, formal education, economic possibilities, and other privileges as men. The result of this research showed that from the big five personalities, Maleficent has four personalities, namely agreeableness, neuroticism openness to experience, and the last is extraversion

    TABOO WORDS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS IN THE BAD BOYS FOR LIFE MOVIE

    This research purposed to find out the types of taboo words and to describe the functions of the taboo words used in the Bad Boys For Life movie by Adil and Bilall. This Research used two theories, the theory from Battistella (2005) for analyzing the types of taboo words and the theory from Jay’ (1992) for analyzing the function of taboo words. The qualitative analysis method was used in thi s research. The result of the research showed that there were 4 types of taboo words that had been found. There were 193 data found in Bad Boys For Life movie namely: 10 data of Epithets, 21 Data of Profanity, 30 data of Vulgarity, and 132 data of Obscenity. For the function of taboo words, there were also 193 data were found, namely: 82 data of Anger and/or Frustration, 53 data of Descriptive – Evaluative, 5 data of Joking, 19 data of Surprise, and 34 data of Sarcastic Irony or Insults

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mencari tipe-tipe dari campur kode (code mixing) yang digunakan dalam ujaran Dodit dalam stand up comedy dan untuk menemukan alasan penggunaan campur kode (code mixing) dalam ujaran yang dilakukan oleh Dodit dalam stand up comedy. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif karena data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa kata, frasa, dan klausa bukan angka-angka. Sedangkan metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode simak dan catat. Setelah mengelompokan data ke dalam bentuk kata, frasa, dan klausa yang mengandung campur kode dalam ujaran yang dilakukan oleh Dodit dalam stand up comedy, peneliti menemukan 38 data untuk campur kode yang terbagi menjadi 23 kata (words insertion), 4 frasa (phrases insertion), 1 klausa (clause insertion), 8 hibrid (hybrid insertion), 2 pengulangan kata (repetition insertion), dan 1 idiom (idiom insertion). Sedangkan alasan yang sering muncul dalam penggunaan campur kode yang dilakukan oleh Dodit adalah ketidaksengajaan, penyesuaian diri, tujuan tertentu dan terakhir adalah penyampaian pemikiran

    Glosari penerjemahan berisikan istilah atau hal yang berkaitan dengan ilmu penerjemahan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mencori strategipembentukan istilah asing dalam glosarium penerjemahan bahasa dan mencari strategi yang paling banyak digunakan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Setelah dilakukan analisis, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa ada beberapa strategi yang dapat diterapkan dalam pembentukan istilah asing glosarium terminologi penerjemahan tersebut seperti, penerjemahan langsung, penyerapan, penggabungan antara penyerapan dan penerjemahan, dan penerjemahan dengan memberikan deskripsi mengenai teks.     INTERPRETING THE ABSURD THEATRE THROUGH EXISTENTIALISM APPROACH

    Absurdity which is a form of human existence is the dominant theme to express human viewof life. Albert Camus, a French writer, was well known for his philosophycalled absurdism which has some similarities with existentialism. Introducing the concept of absurd theater in a foreign language to a group of literature students is not an easy task. Therefore, it is necessary to find an ideal approach to enhance students in this theater course and facilitate them for literature understanding through several literature theories. This study proposed sociological literature approach with two elements involved, the sociology of the author and the sociology of literature, in order to help students understand the absurdity of literary works. Existentialism approach was also used to solve the complexity of concepts in each drama scripts. Through the two elements of the sociology of literature, we acquired that the essence of existentialism is the term „exist‟, as Camus‟s work on rebellion theme, „I rebel; therefore I exist‟. The root of absurdity is absurdity itself. Therefore, talking about the absurdity of literary works is talking about the notion of absurdity itself and the notion of its feeling, and then about attitudes determine our actions. Absurdity also need to be explored through emotions and intertextuality

    The Acquisition Of Foreign-Language Drama and Its Relevance in Learning Appreciation of Literature Through Staging Drama (Case of Non Native Speakers)

    Play performance is one of those teaching skills which challenge the students to think creatively to appreciate the literature. Here, the students are strived for thinking strong and evolving their creative thoughts in reviews or reviewing the foreign language’s play that has been seen in the dramatically play. Review or evaluation is a kind of students’ creativity through literature’s criticism that is related to the play’s manuscript or letters that has been performed. Type of this review or evaluation shows the students’ creative process and shows the students’ level of appreciation to the letters. Based on hypothesis, it is built an assumption that less interested students in appreciating the letters is related to the blind side of students’ appreciation level, including play. Although the students’ appreciation level to the play is difficult enough to be measured, but this early research hopefully can give satisfactory information about the right teaching methods or media to be used in leaning the letters’ appreciation. This research used plan of Action Research. As Class Action Research context, the word “action” was understood as activity that was arranged systematically to create a raising level of teaching process and educational practices in certain class condition. In practicing Action Research, there were 4 basics that have to be concerned; they were (a) Action plan, (b) Action realization, (c) Observation, and (d) Reflection. These four aspects were connected each other and continuous. The result of students’ learning in rewriting review of the letters by benefiting the dramatic phenomenon to be the main substance for measuring the students’ appreciation level and perception to the performed play. According to the result of the research, it could be concluded that the model of play performance could be one of students’ learning models in appreciating the letters
