Significance Of Immunohistochemical Markers In Diagnostics Of Urinary Bladder Cancer

    Get PDF
On the basis of surgical and biopsy material 106 patients with diseases of urinary bladder have been under study. They received treatment at Scientific Research Institute of Fundamental and Clinical Uronephrology of Saratov State Medical University. 13 immunohistochemical markers have been evaluated: markers of proliferative activity - Ki-67, PCNA, p63, suppressor of tumor growth - p53, markers of apoptosis - Bcl-2, Bax, receptor of epidermal growth factors - EGFR, cytokeratin profile - (CK7, CK8, CK10/13, CK 17, CK18, CK19), as well as their diagnostic significance for identifying the urinary bladder cance

Mesoporous Silica and Composite Nanostructures for Theranostics

We discus methods for fabrication of silica and composite nanoparticles, which can be used in various biomedical applications. The most promising types of such nanostructures are hollow silica nanosheres, sil-ica coated plasmon-resonant nanoparticles (gold nanorods and gold-silver nanocages) and nanorattles. Mesoporous silica shell can be doped by desirable targeting molecules. Here we present the results of for-mation of nanocomposites composed of gold nanorods and double-layer silica shell. The secondary mesopo-rous silica shell is doped with a photosensitizer (hematoporphyrine in our case). We demonstate some of promising theranostics applications of these nanocomposites for bioimaging and in vivo therapy of tumors.

The research goal is to determine clinical, endoscopic and morphological signs of chronic duodenitis in children. Materials and methods: The diagnostic value of molecular markers has been revealed by immunohistochemical research of biopsy. It has been received from endoscopic examination of 32 children aged from 3 to 17 years old with chronic duodenitis. Morphometric investigation of markers expression has been carried out by means of analyzing system of digital images of Mikrovizor medical uVizo-103. Results: The index of proliferation has been higher in cells of cover epithelium than in glands. The inductor expression of apoptosis Bax has been poorly expressed in both groups of patients. It has been proved that proliferative processes are predominant in this pathology. Conclusion: It has been found out that proliferation of significant activity in the cover epithelium accompanies the development of preatrophic processes in children with chronic duodenitis. The greater degree of regeneration has been marked in crypts.</p&gt

The diagnostic significance of molecular markers was evaluated by immunohistochemical research of surgical and biopsy material of 106 patients with diseases of bladder and 57 patients with diseases of prostate. They received treatment at Scientific Research Institute of Fundamental and Clinical Uronephrology with monoclonal antibodies: Ki-67, PCNA, p63 (markers of proliferative activity), p53 (suppressor of tumor growth), Bcl-2, Bax (markers of apoptosis), EGFR (receptor of epidermal growth factors), PSA, PSMA, AMACR (prostate-specific antigens) and cytokeratin profile. The morphometric research was conducted on the basis of automated analysis system of digital images Ariol SL50 (Genetix

Analysis of accumulation and biodistribution of gold nanoparticles in mesenteric lymph nodes by oral administration

The aim of the article is to conduct analysis of accumulation and biodistribution of gold nanoparticles in the structural and functional areas of mesenteric lymph nodes of white rats. Particular attention is paid to the size and duration of oral administration. Material and Methods: Dark field microscopy with Leica DM 2500 microscope has been used to assess biodistribution of gold nanoparticle. The histochemical reaction of silver amplification with silver lactate by Danscher has been used to confirm gold nanoparticles identification. Results: It has been found that regardless of the duration of administration gold nanoparticles of 1-3 nm have not been detected by these methods in the lymph nodes. Gold nanoparticles of 15 and 50 nm have been found out in the form of clusters in the cytoplasm of macrophages and lymphocytes mainly in the mantle zone of lymphoid follicles and brain strands. Conclusion: It has been established that the gold nanoparticles of 15 and 50 nm has been detected in the form of clusters in the cytoplasm of macrophages and lymphocytes
