Introduction: Travel health centers offer very important health services for individuals traveling abroad. Little is known about the health status and knowledge of travel health, travel-related diseases, and vaccinations of individuals who travel abroad and visit travel health centers. This research studied travelers who visited a travel health center in order to evaluate their behavior and knowledge of travel health, travel-related diseases, and vaccinations. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted with 407 participants between June and September 2018, the busiest time for international travel. It was administered at a travel health center attached to the Directorate General of Health for Border and Coastal Areas of Turkey. Results: The results indicated that 78.6% of participants did not obtain travel health insurance before their trip, and 63.6% did not prepare a travel health kit for their trip. Moreover, 61.4% reported that they did not know about the health conditions and practices of their destination country. Individuals traveling for business did more research on travel-related diseases compared to those traveling for other reasons. Additionally, 61.3% of individuals who rated themselves healthy sought information about the health conditions at their travel destinations. Conclusion: The current study showed that the knowledge and healthcare practices among international travelers are inadequate. Raising awareness is needed to create a positive behavioral change in people’s travel health practices

Ewing sarcoma is a frequently seen malignant bone tumor of the childhood. The tumor involves the diaphyseal and metaphyseal bone and cases located in the epiphysis are unusual. We present a case of Ewing sarcoma limited to the epiphysis in an immature skeleton. We would like to emphasize the importance of the biopsy without contaminating the joint space which will reduce the morbidity during the curative surgery.Çocukluk çağı tümörlerinden Ewing sarkomu sık görülen, habis bir kemik patolojisidir.

Objective: This study was performed to examine the disease course in geriatric patients with soft tissue sarcoma and determine the risk factors for mortality. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients who were treated at Istanbul University Oncology Institute from January 2000 to August 2021. Results: Eighty patients were included in the study. The patients’ median age was 69 years (range, 65–88 years). The median overall survival of patients diagnosed between the ages of 65 and 74 years was 70 months, and that of patients diagnosed at the age of ≤75 years was significantly lower at 46 months. The median survival of patients who did and did not undergo surgical resection was 66 and 11 months, respectively, with a significant difference. The median overall survival of patients with positive and negative surgical margins was 58 and 96 months, respectively, also with a significant difference. Age at diagnosis and recurrence/metastasis significantly affected mortality. A 1-year increase in the age at diagnosis increased mortality by 1.147 times. Conclusion: Age of >75 years, inability to undergo surgery, positive surgical margins, and head and neck location may be associated with a poor prognosis in geriatric patients with soft tissue sarcoma
