Directed cycles and related structures in random graphs: II--Dynamic properties

We study directed random graphs (random graphs whose edges are directed) as they evolve in discrete time by the addition of nodes and edges. For two distinct evolution strategies, one that forces the graph to a condition of near acyclicity at all times and another that allows the appearance of nontrivial directed cycles, we provide analytic and simulation results related to the distributions of degrees. Within the latter strategy, in particular, we investigate the appearance and behavior of the strong components that were our subject in the first part of this study.Comment: submitted to Physica

POLÍTICA DE RECURSOS HUMANOS E PROPOSIÇÃO DE UMA GESTÃO DA QUALIDADE

Este artigo teve por objetivo analisar a influência da política de recursos humanos destinada aos docentes de uma IFES na proposição de uma gestão da qualidade, considerando os componentes carreira, participação, desempenho e aperfeiçoamento. Para tanto, adotou-se o modelo denominado Ciclo Contínuo de Desenvolvimento de Pessoal/CCDP, proposto por Grillo (1996). A necessidade de realização deste trabalho foi devido à percepção de que existem vários estudos que consideram as pessoas nas organizações, seu nível de produção, sua satisfação e a relação destas variáveis com a política de recursos humanos existente nas organizações. Contudo, percebeu-se, também, a existência de um número reduzido de estudos que contemplem as IFES e o tratamento que se dispensam à política de recursos humanos e uma proposição de gestão da qualidade

Use of flight interception traps of Malaise type and attractive traps for social wasps record (Vespidae: Polistinae)

The literature provides different methodologies for sampling social wasps, including, flight intercept trap type Malaise and Attractive trap, however, there is no consensus on its use. In this respect, the aim of this study was to evaluate the best use of Malaise traps and Attractive trap in biodiversity work of social wasps, and generate a collection protocol for the use of these traps. The study was conducted in the Parque Estadual do Rio Doce, located in the east of the state of Minas Gerais, in the years 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004 and in the Botanical Garden of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, located in the southeastern state of Minas Gerais, in years 2011, 2012 and 2013. 15 species were collected using Malaise traps, and, 26 species of social wasps were collected using Attractive traps. Although the negative aspects of both traps, complementary methodologies surveys varying social wasps are useful and it is recommended to choose for using in accordance with the logistical field

A inter-relação entre a taxa de juros e a inflação no âmbito do regime de metas inflacionárias brasileiro

Economia.Este trabalho discorre sobre a influência que a taxa de juros, determinada mensalmente pelo Comitê de Política Monetária, exerce sobre o índice de inflação calculado a partir do IPCA e que foi escolhido como parâmetro para o sistema de metas inflacionárias brasileiro. A partir da teoria que dá sustentação à estrutura do sistema de metas de inflação, sobretudo a chamada equação de Fischer, é feita uma descrição geral do Sistema de Metas Inflacionárias, bem como é apresentada sua aplicação no Brasil e em outros países. Posteriormente, analisa-se em quais anos, desde a implantação do regime (1999-2006), a taxa de juros possuiu um elevado grau de determinação para explicar a variação do índice de inflação escolhido. Desta forma, procurou-se verificar se, no âmbito do regime de metas inflacionárias, os motivos pelos quais o Banco Central conseguiu ou não manter a taxa de inflação corrente dentro da expectativa explicitada na estipulação da meta para cada ano

INSTITUTIONAL CHANGE AND ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION IN BRAZIL, 1945-2004 - FROM INDUSTRIAL CATCHING-UP TO FINANCIAL FRAGILITY

This paper tries to explain the dynamics of Brazilian industrial catch-up in the last 60 years by discussing its background institutional conditions as well as its main macroeconomic features. After a brief introduction, the second section describes how after the institutional innovations introduced during the Vargas's and Kubitschek's administrations, a Brazilian version of the Developmental State was created, releasing the growth potential of the economy during the 1950s. The third section analyses the inflationary crisis and institutional inertia of the mid-1960s, and its solution through the introduction of a new of wave of institutional innovations and conflict management devices, which lead to the Brazilian growth miracle, until the debt crisis of early 1980s signaled its end. The fourth section analyses why the financial crisis, coupled with ineffective institutional changes and unsuccessful macroeconomic stabilization plans lead growth to a halt. It also includes an analysis of the pro-market reforms from the early 1990s onwards. The fifth section concludes the paper offering a brief sketch on how the analytical narrative fits the conceptual framework within which it was carried.
