A second monoclinic polymorph of ethylÂenediammonium bisÂ(hydrogen squarate) monohydrate
The title compound, C2H10N2
2+·2HC4O4
−·H2O, a new polymorph of ethylÂenediammonium bisÂ(hydrogen squarate) monohydrate, was synthesized by slow evaporation of an acid solution. The asymetric unit contains two hydrogen squarate anions, two half-molÂecules of protonated ethylÂenediamine arranged around a twofold axis and one water molÂecule. In the crystal, N—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the hydrogen squarate anions, protonated N atoms from the amine group and water molÂecules lead to a three-dimensional framework. In particular, the cohesion between the squarate groups is ensured by very short intermolecular hydrogen bonds bonds. The title compound crystallized together with the previously reported polymorph [Mathew et al. (2002 â–¶). J. Mol. Struct.

A 9,9'-spirobifluorene bases Metal-Organic Framework: systhesis, structure analysis and gas sorption properties
International audienceThe new square planar tetracarboxylate ligand L (4,4′,4′′,4′′′-(9,9′-spirobi[fluorene]-2,2′,7,7′-tetrayl)tetrabenzoic acid) was synthesized and used for synthesis of the Metal-Organic Framework Cu2L(H2O)2*(EtOH)4 denoted SBF-Cu. This material possesses the classical 4-4 regular tiling topology with paddle-wheel inorganic building units. Due to the presence of SBF cores, the interactions between the layers of this MOF confer it specific properties: high specific surface area, open metal sites under activation, and promising hydrogen uptake capacity
Yttrium ethylÂenediammonium squarate tetraÂhydrate
The title compound, {(C2H10N2)1.5[Y(C4O4)3(H2O)4]}n {systemÂatic name: catena-poly[sesqui(ethylÂenediammonium) [[tetraÂaquabisÂ(squarato-κO)yttrium(III)]-μ-squarato-κ2
O:O′]]}, was synthesized by slow evaporation of an acid solution. The asymetric unit contains one yttrium cation in an antiÂprismatic environnement, three squarate groups, one and a half protonated ethylÂenediamine molÂecules and four water molÂecules. YO8 polyhedra are connected through bisÂ(monoÂdentate) squarates, leading to infinite zigzag chains, in between which are located ammonium groups. A framework of hydrogen bonds between protonated amine N atoms, water molÂecules and squarate anions ensures the cohesion of the structure

The aim of this work was to build porous hybrid materials displaying original topologies in order to obtain zeolite-like properties. The retained strategy was the use of targeted inorganic and organic building units (BU). The selected inorganic BU are made of various metallic polyhedra MOn and two kinds of organic BU have been chosen, poly-carboxylates and oxocarbons. The crystal structures of the hybrid materials have been solved from powder or single-crystal X-ray diffraction data and the thermal behaviours have been studied by thermogravimetry and thermodiffractometry. A discussion is carried out about the role of the metal environment and the ligand coordination modes on the structures dimensionality. Likewise, the influence of the bond strength within the hydrogen-bonding network on both the structure stability and the zeolite-like properties has been evidenced within these architectures.RENNES1-BU Sciences Philo (352382102) / SudocSudocFranceF
This work deals with crystallochemistry of new coordination polymers. In order to control the network topology and to obtain porous coordination polymers, we proposed the design of tetracarboxylate ligands bearing two kinds of cores with fixed geometries: the tetraphenylmethane core with a Td symmetry and the spirobifluorene core with a D2d simmetry. Phenyl spacers were introduced in a scale chemistry strategy and the position of the coordinating function on spacer was change to allow ligand flexibility. These ligands were reacted with zinc, copper and lanthanum salts. The structures of the coordination polymers were solved by single crystal X ray diffraction. The thermal and chemical reactivities as well as the luminescence and gas sorption properties were investigated. The first chapter is devoted to the bibliographic study of porous coordination polymers. The second chapter exposes the ligands synthesis strategy. The next three chapters group the coordination polymers according to their structural features. Much interest is given to the topologies, the interpenetration of the frameworks and the influence of the flexibility of the ligands. The last chapter is devoted to 2D coordination polymers with spirobifluoren core. A summary of the main features of the synthesized materials closes this dissertation while tackling the perspectives this work offers.RENNES1-BU Sciences Philo (352382102) / SudocSudocFranceF
