    The differences of using possessive adjective and possessive pronoun through truth meaning in the most dangerous game

    In this reserach, the writer discusses differences in meaning by using possessive adjective and possessive pronoun through truth meaning in The Most Dangerous Game. Before reviewing meaning, the first discuss is the functions of both possessive in the sentence. Truth meaning will be obtained after examining the relationship between one sentence with another sentence. It is formulated in three research questions, namely: 1) What is the function of possessive adjective in a sentence? 2) What is the function of possessive pronoun in a sentence? and 3) What are the differences meaning using a possessive adjective and possessive pronoun through truth meaning in semantics? This study examines possessive adjective and possessive pronoun differences in truth meaning studies. The theory used to analyze possessive adjective and possessive pronoun functions is the theory of Robert Krohn's (1990) book, while the theory to examine truth meaning is the theory of John I Saeed and Andrew Bernardin. This research obtained data through research methodology. The research methodology uses descriptive qualitative. The data is obtained by identifying, classifying, and making conclusions through documentation study techniques. In this study there are several truth meaning types based on the theory used. The differences meaning between possessive adjective and possessive pronoun are: Possessive pronoun is more meaningful than possessive adjective besides Possessive pronoun avoids repetition of words to reinforce a meaning while possessive adjective uses repetition of words to reinforce a meaning. The results of the study is found 42 data. The first problem is function possessive adjective there are found 34 data. For the second problem, there are 8 data of function possessive pronoun. The third problem is the differences meaning between the possessive adjective and possessive pronoun. The possessive adjective meaning with 27 data, and the results is priori truth 4 data, posteriori truth 22 data, personal truth 19 data, social truth 6 data, and universal truth 2 data whereas possessive pronoun with 8 data and the result is posteriori truth 8 data and personal truth 6 social truth 2 data
