    The Gender Gap in Online Shopping in Turkey

    The main aim of this study is to explore the gender gap in online shopping in the Turkish population. The gender gap in internet use and online shopping is investigated using the results of annual national surveys on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Usage in Households and by Individuals by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat). The study results reveal that females in Turkey tend to be on the wrong side of the digital divide. Even though internet use has increased over the years in the Turkish population, there remains a significant and persistent gap between females and males in internet use and online shopping. It is also found that there are differences between females and males in the purpose of internet use and the type of goods purchased online.publishedVersio

    Because of the various benefits and advantages that computers and the Internet offer, these technologies have become an essential part of our daily life. The dependence on these technologies has been continuously and rapidly increasing. Computers and the Internet use also has become an important part for instructional purposes in academic environments. Even though the pervasive use of computers and the Internet has many benefits for almost everyone, but it has also increased the use of these technologies for illegal purposes or unethical activities such as spamming, making illegal copies of software, violations of privacy, hacking and computer viruses. The main purpose of this study is to explore gender differences in computer ethics among Business Administration students and examine their attitudes towards ethical use of computers.     Exploring the Differences Between Students in IS and Other Disciplines in the Perceptions of Factors Influencing Study Program Choice: A Survey Study in Norway

    In this study, we explored the differences between students in IS and other disciplines in their perceptions of factors influencing study program choice. A quantitative research approach was employed. We used an online survey for data collection. Data was collected in a Norwegian public university in the Fall semester of 2021. The findings from this study showed that the factors that most influence students\u27 choice of study program are career-related. The most influencing factor for students in choosing a study program was identified as job availability, followed by job security, career opportunities, and interesting work assignments. Significant differences were found between students in IS and other disciplines in the following five factors influencing study program choice: job security, opportunity to be innovative, personal skills, ease of study topics, and performance in high school subject matter courses

    Adoption of open innovation strategies among SMEs: a comparative study In Portugal and Turkey

    The aim of this paper is to outline the situation of the Portuguese and the Turkish small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) in the field of adopting various open innovation strategies. Through the research, the reader may get a bird sight view on the conditions of the decision-making process leading to the introduction of a open innovation among SMEs within the local context. In the aspect of adoption of strategies the Portuguese enterprises adopt collaboration with universities in higher proportion, while Turkish SMEs adopt collaboration with intermediaries in higher proportion, though in both countries, collaboration with other partners remain as the best chosen strategy. It has been concluded that enterprises of the same size in the surveyed countries consider similar factors before making a decision on introducing open innovation strategies in their business. Furthermore, it is expected that within a short time, an extended survey will be carried out in both countries, including one or two additional countries

    Factors Contributing to the Business Digital Divide: A Systematic Literature Review

    The main aim of this study is to review the literature relating to the factors that contribute to the business digital divide. A systematic literature review was conducted using two databases (Scopus and Web of Science). A total of 28 articles were selected and analyzed. The selected studies are conducted in various developing and developed countries, including all firm sizes and different sectors, and cover several different digital technologies. Identified factors determining the business digital divide are categorized as technological, organizational, and environmental factors. The discussion and the potentials for further research are also presented
