Comparative Study on Breaking Strength of Burnt Clay Bricks Using Novel Based Completely Randomized Design (CRD)

The aim of this study is to present the results of breaking strength tests for burnt clay bricks from various historical deposits. The native clay bricks production technique is the known method of brick making, particularly in South Asian countries. Numerous studies have been conducted on hand-molded formed bricks. The clay bricks that were considered for the comparative study, were made from four different clays sources. Their breaking strength was determined using for examining the maximum load at failure and the effects were investigated subsequently. The basic objective of this experimental study was to compare the breaking strength of locally fired clay bricks using a novel based completely randomized design via a single factor with four levels of clay sources representing the factors. For this purpose, 24 brick samples were made from four different clay sources while the breaking strength of each sample was measured. Pairwise comparison trials, including Duncan’s multiple range, Newman–keuls, Fisher’s least and Tukey’s tests were conducted. Based on experimental investigations, the results revealed that using analysis of variance at 95% CI, the difference in breaking strength between clay source of Hyderabad (A) and Rawalpindi (B), followed by Kohat (C) and Peshawar (D) was significant and also the difference among the means of these clay courses was significant which clearly exposed that the clay site and chemical composition has a great impression of the breaking strength of the burnt bricks

Media created violence: a social determinant of mental health.

In today\u27s high technological world, scientific discoveries contribute remarkable development to human life, but it could also have an adverse impact on mankind. Among all these advancements, media is one of the inventions which aims at capturing a countless group of viewers and transmit information via various mediums. Media violence is considered one of the hampering determinants which harms an individual psychologically. The primary goal of a health professional is to work for the maintenance of mental health. Therefore, it is imperative to create an understanding about the impact of media violence on mental health, particularly in the Pakistani context. Violence has become a major public health problem in Pakistan. The main cause of violence seems to be anger and frustration due to poverty, political conflicts, lack of education, and the overall governance approach in the country. Therefore, there is a prime need to think and work on this neglected area like conducting research and increasing public awareness, and to curb media violence

DETERMINING GEOMETRICAL PARAMETERS FOR A REFERENCED CRICKET BAT HANDLE

This work had been intended to set and determine the geometrical parameters for a referenced cricket bat handle for our purpose, due to geometric variations found in the handles. By reviewing related literature based on past research work carried by many researcher on cricket bat. The criterion used for selecting and determining major parameters of the handle with some new technical parameters with reference to more traditional design based on to other performance-oriented geometrical features widely employed in commercial designs of cricket bat made by the different manufacturers’ of sporting equipment in present. And so far, some new and typical geometrical parameters are considered and established for a referenced Cricket bat handle, which in turn used in a cricket bat with having a detachable handle for further study.  Article visualizations

CONSTRAINING NUMERICAL VALUES FOR A REFERENCED CRICKET BAT HANDLE ON SELECTED GEOMETRICAL PARAMETERS

A survey was carried out on Grade ‘A’ cricket bats handles, made up of the finest quality of four pieces Singapore cane with 3 rubber springs. Standard cricket bats handles were chosen from four different cricket manufacturing agencies, due to having different geometrical parameters. All handle were meticulously taken off from the blade and then they were measured and recorded, aiming to constraining a new measurement for a referenced cricket bat handle of short length. The estimation was made on the behalf of the measurement (value) taken from different size of handle ranging from their minimum to maximum, and standard values of handle keeping in view on their distinct parameters separately. So, by this way determination of geometric parameters and new modification were made for constraining measurement for a referenced cricket bat handle (i.e. short in length and round in shape) found for our purpose.  Article visualizations
