    World vegetable oil needs to be increased every year along with population growth. Vegetable oil which potential to supply is palm oil because it has the highest productivity compared to other vegetable oil sources. Behind the rapid development of palm oil, came negative issue about environmental damage especially the increase of greenhouse gas emissions caused by the palm oil industry. This research aimed to calculate the potential of greenhouse gas caused by palm oil mill effluent (POME) treatment in the anaerobic pond. The method used is by capture methane and carbon dioxide at the float chamber then gas chromatography analyzed. The results showed that the highest methane and carbon dioxide released at night (10.00 – 11.00 pm). The average potential released methane is 9441.28 mg C-CH4 m-2h-1 and Carbon dioxide is 5920.74 mg C-CO2 m-2h-1

    Tempe is a food fermented soy beans or other legume species using the fungus Rhizopus oligosporus and Rhizopus oryzae. By utilizing dregs tofu and mocaf expected to provide added value to the additional material and as an effort to reduce the consumption of primary ingredient in the production of tempe namely soybean. The purpose of this study was to determine the formulation of additives that are most appropriate as an additional ingredient of making tempe using threshold test and hedonic test. The test results threshold suggests that there can be found the best formulation would be expected in each type of material, the entire formulation in both types of materials response difference exceeds the prescribed limit is 50%, but each type of material has a formulation that is approaching a percentage basis, ie formulation (95: 5) on the pulp out the different response of 60% and a formulation (95: 5) on mocaf with different response of 65%. The test results hedonic showed that tempe substitutes dregs tofu most preferred is tempe with the formulation of 95: 5, while the tempe mocaf most preferred substitution is tempeh with 55:45

    Candlenut (Aleurites moluccana) is one of commodities widely grown in Indonesia and undergo development production a rapid progress .Production plantation the people plants candlenut in 2014 reached 107,3 thousand tons (bps, 2014). Charcoal active are carbon already activated so pores open so retention is greater than the charcoal ordinary .The purpose of this research is to determine variety of and concentration activator chemical the best in the process activation so that can improve the quality of the active charcoal shells fruit candlenut produced. Design experiments used in in this research is a random a group (a shelf ) consisting of 2 factors , namely factors 1 is the type activator chemical ( j ) and factors 2 is the concentration of a solution activator ( a knockout ) .Of two factors obtained 9 kind of combination those who each experienced remedial treatment as much as two times order to obtain 18 unit treatment. The best treatment in this research was naoh 15 % that can be seen from the results of the parameter levels of carbon bound and absorption capacity iod more better than other treatmen

    Bawang Dayak (Eleutherine palmifolia (L.) Merr.) is known as one of antioxidants sources because it has natural bioactive compounds such as phenol, flavonoids, tannins, glycosides, steroids, alkaloids which have good health benefits. Antioxidant can inhibit and prevent the damage caused by oxidation process of free radicals. Because of these benefits, bawang dayak is potential to be processed to a product such as herbal tea. The study aims to determine the effect of particle size formulation on drying temperature variation on antioxidant activity of bawang dayak herbal tea. The research method used is a randomized block design (RAK) of drying temperature consisting of one grouped factor that is the size formulation factor (F). The analysis performed on tea stock were water content, ash content, and presence of phytochemical compounds, while in brewed tea were acidity (pH), antioxidant activity (DPPH method), and sensory analysis (hedonic scale 1 – 5). The results indicated that the particle size formulation on drying temperature variation had an effect on the antioxidant activity. The best result was obtained from 100% coarse size formulation at 50oC drying temperature with the value of inhibition percentage (%) at 10 mg/ml of brewed tea is 77.38% and IC50 is 4.57 mg /ml brewed tea. The results of sensory analysis with hedonic scale for the treatment are for aroma (3.00; like slightly) and color (3.56; like), while taste can still be improved (2.32; dislike)
