    This study was conducted to investigate the influence of various macroand micronutrients on the growth and root yield of sweetpotato (variety IB/PH/03) grown in a Samoan Oxisol under semi-controlled screenhouse conditions. The following nutrient elements were considered: N, P, K, Mg, S,B, Cu, Fe, Mo, Mn, Ni, and Zn. The set-up involved pot nutrient omission trials wherein the twelve nutrient elements were combined to form an ALL treatment with subsequent 12 treatments made by excluding one nutrient consecutively from the ALL combinations. Treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications for all treatments while six for the ALL treatment. Results showed that P was the most limiting factor to sweetpotato vegetative growth and root yield. Reduced storage root yield in relation to ALL were also observed when N, P, K, S, B, Fe, Mn, Mo and Ni were not supplied, although the difference was insignificant. Thus unless P deficiency is addressed, the deficiency effects of these nutrients on storage root yield remain insignificant

    Low Noise Amplifier at 5.8GHz with Cascode and Casc aded Techniques Using T-Matching Network for Wireless Ap plications

    This project present a design of a 5.8 GHz low noise amplifier (LNA) design with cascode and cascaded techniques using T-matching network applicable for IEEE 802.16 standard. The amplifier use FHX76LP Low Noise SuperHEMT FET. The LNA designed used T-matching network consisting of lump element reactive element at the input and the output terminal. The cascode and cascaded low noise amplifier (LNA) produced gain of 36.8dB and noise figure (NF) at 1.3dB. The input reflection (S11) and output return loss (S22) are -11.4dB and -12.3dB respectively. The bandwidth of the amplifier is more than 1GHz.     Buah tome-tome (Flacourtia inermis) berbunga pada bulan Januari hingga Februari dan buahnya mulai muncul beberapa bulan kemudian. Sebagai bahan makanan yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat, buah tome-tome harus diketahui nilai gizi yang terkandung pada buah tersebut, sehingga nilai gizi yang terdapat pada buah tome-tome menjadi informasi bagi masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian untukĀ  mengetahui fisikokimia dan kandungan vitamin C pada buah tome-tome. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian eksperimen. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan diĀ  LaboratoriumĀ  Kimia ProgramĀ  StudiĀ  GiziĀ  PoltekkesĀ  TernateĀ  danĀ  LaboratoriumĀ  UniversitasĀ  KhairunĀ  Ternate pada bulan Mei sampai November 2016. Populasi seluruh buah tome-tome sebagai unit analisis. Sedangkan sampel seluruh unit realisasiĀ  dariĀ  proses analisis. PengujianĀ  fisikokimia menggunakan metode AnalisisĀ  Proksimat (SNI 01-2891-1992) yang terdiri dari: pengujian Kadar Air Total dengan metode termogravimetri dan pengujian Kadar Lemak Total dengan metode soxhletasi. Sedangkan pengujian vitamin C menggunakan metode spektrofotometer UV vis. Hasil pengujian kandungan vitamin C sampel menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkanĀ  pengujian,Ā  rataanĀ  kandunganĀ  vitaminĀ  C buah tome-tome merah lebihĀ  besar (1.48 g/LĀ  atau 148 mg/100Ā  gramĀ  sampel)Ā  dibandingkanĀ  dengan tome-tome hitam (0.67 g/L atau 67 mg/100 gram sampel). Hal ini menunjukkan tome-tome merah sangat potensial dikembangkan sebagai pangan lokal sumber vitamin C.</p

    High Gain Cascaded Low Noise Amplifier using T-Matching Network

    This project presents a design of high gain cascaded low noise amplifier (LNA), which operates at 5.8 GHz frequency for WiMAX application. The LNA designed used T-matching network consisting of lump reactive elements and microstrip at the input and the output matching load uses quarter wavelength techniques. A cascaded LNA is developed in this project contribute a high gain of 36.8 dB with overall noise figure of 1.3 dB. The overall measured bandwidth measures is 1.240 GHz with S parameters S11, S12 and S22 measured are -11.4dB, -39.1dB and -12.3dB respectively.     In this research, study some physical and mechanical properties of polymernano composites. The polymernano composites based on unsaturated polyester resin reinforced with carbon fibers (C.F). The samples are attended by hand lay ā€“ up method. The samples constituent were polyester resin as matrix with 3% volume fraction from carbon fiber and (0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2 %( volume fractions of carbon nanotube. The water absorption, hardness (shore D), flexural test, impact test and toughness fracture properties are studied. Results showed that water absorption increase with addition 3% volume fraction of carbon fiber and Carbon Nanotube, the sample (polyester+3%C.F+0.5% CNTs) has lower water absorption than other samples. The hardness (shore D), flexural test, impact testand toughness fracture for the sample (polyester+3%C.F+0.5% CNTs) has higher value for Nano- composites

    The potential of efficient water management system in high-rise design

    Water is a natural gift upon all life forms since the early civilization of mankind and Malaysia is one of the nation that is rich with water resources. Since decades ago, the development in the water sector spurs the social economic growth of this country (Mohd. Azhar, 2000). As time goes by with rapid urbanisation across Malaysia, the demand for water especially in buildings, increase to accommodate a growing population and their needs. Roodman et al. (1995) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) (Al-Tamimi, 2011) highlight that the World watch Institute estimates building consumption to be at least 40% of the worldā€™s energy and 16% of the water used annually. However, issues like increasing wastages and mismanagement of water leads to a problem towards this resources. Hence, the first part of the paper assesses the issues faced globally and locally towards water resources and the principles of water quality cascade in relation to sustainable water management in buildings. The next part are collective reviews of two selected case studies that include sustainable water management in the respective building design approach.     Kegembiraan di tempat kerja biasanya dikaitkan dengan perasaan yang dialami oleh seseorang pekerja yang mampu mendorong produktiviti mereka saban hari ketika berada dalam lingkungan pekerjaan. Kegembiraan di tempat kerja juga adakalanya dikaitkan dengan tingkat kepuasan kerja yang tinggi serta keghairahan dan semangat memuncak dalam kalangan pekerja untuk menyelesaikankan tugasan yang diamanahkan. Namun demikian, terdapat pelbagai faktor yang berupaya mempengaruhi tahap kegembiraan seseorang ketika berada di tempat kerja. Antara faktor yang dimaksudkan ialah gaya kepimpinan yang diaplikasikan ketua jabatan. Hubungkait diantara gaya kepimpinan ketua jabatan dan tahap kegembiraan di tempat kerja dalam kalangan penjawat awam ini boleh dikesan di sektor awam di sekitar daerah Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.     Microwave Reflection Based Dielectric Spectroscopy for Moisture Content in Melele Mango Fruit (Mangifera Indica L.)

    The Melele mango is one of the special local fruit Malaysia and it has high commercial value. However, the current methods are not efficient in determining optimum period to harvest. The optimum harvest time has close relationship with moisture content in fruit. The reflection based dielectric spectroscopic technique is conducted to measure moisture in Melele mango fruits. Dielectric and reflection measurements were conducted over a frequency range from 200 MHz to 8 GHz on clone Melele mango. Dielectric constant, loss factor and complex reflection coefficient of Melele mango with different moisture content were measured using an Agilent E8362B PNA Network Analyzer in conjunction with an Agilent 85070E High Temperature Probe over a frequency range from 200 MHz to 8 GHz. The measured reflection coefficient is presented in magnitude and phase. Dielectric constant and loss factor decreases when the moisture content in mango fruit decreases. The magnitude of the reflection coefficient descends due to increment of the dielectric constant. The results show that the measured dielectric properties and complex reflection coefficient provides the ability to predict fruit moisture content
