Abstract—the investigation between electromagnetic waves (conduction current) and human cell as lossless material has received renewed attention recently. This propagation can come from many sources such as cellular phone. The structure of a human cell were studied from many school of thinking such as biochemical in cell, cytoplasm, nucleus and membrane and the understanding obtained have been used as the basis in the developing of mathematical model. The main objective of this project is to analyze the behavior and determine the parameters of the interaction and propagation in a single cell when expose to electromagnetic wave from lossy material to lossless material such as the attenuation coefficient, electric field and skin depth. The Maxwell equations were used as the basis of the modeling in this project with aid of numerical method approaches specifically Finite-Difference Time Domain (FDTD) techniques and applications. To develop the model MATLAB tool and Graphical Users Interface (GUI) were used. Results obtained from the developed model ware verified with known result obtained from others researchers and with experimentally

Design of a Low Voltage Class AB Variable Gain Amplifier (VGA)

A variable gain amplifier (VGA) is one of the most significant component in many applications such as analog to digital converter (ADC). In communication receiver, VGA is typically employed in a feedback loop to realize an automatic gain control (AGC), to provide constant signal power to baseband analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for unpredictable received signal strengths. Gain range, power consumption and bandwidth of ADC are strongly influenced by the performance of operational amplifier. VGA is the key element for amplifying process in ADC. However, current class AB VGA is experiencing the limit of bandwidth, which is not suitable for high speed automatic gain control AGC. In order to overcome these limitations a high linearity and wide bandwidth of VGA is indispensable. The aim of this research is to get higher gain and larger bandwidth for VGA. In this research, a low cost, low power voltage and wide bandwidth class AB VGA is designed to mitigate this constraint. Superiority of the proposed VGA has been confirmed by circuit simulation using CEDEC 0.18-μm CMOS process with the help of tools from Mentor Graphics in designing a 100-MHz VGA under 1V supply voltage draining total static power consumption less than 125uW. The results show that the circuit is able to work with high linearity and wide bandwidth by varying Rf and Rs. Therefore, the frequency response (Gain) and the wide bandwidth of this class AB VGA is better than previously reported class AB VGA. Consequently, this modified class AB VGA is appropriate for high speed applications

The criteria of sustainable product development and organizational performance

The demand for quality product has encouraged organizations to adopt the criteria of sustainable product development that can affect organizational performance. The objectives of developing sustainable product are to satisfy customers, achieve sustainability in business and meet stakeholders’ demand on the industry. Nevertheless, adopting the criteria of sustainable product in a new product development in industry is rarely present, especially in an automotive industry. This study addresses the relationship between the criteria of sustainable product development and the effect on an organizational performance. Thus, the outcome of this study contributes to the enhancement of criteria for sustainable product development in the automotive industry and other related industries. The causal relationship approach is adopted in this study by using random sampling among the 273 automotive suppliers in Malaysia. The analysis result using PLS SEM reveals that the criteria of sustainable product development that consists of economy, social and environment are contributing to significant positive effect on the organizational performance in automotive industr

UWB Antenna Width Tuning Effect for UWB Communication

    Get PDF
In this paper, a performance analysis of an array of 2 x 1 Ice Cream Cone UWB Antenna for Ultra Wide Band (UWB) communication is being proposed. The antenna designs have been simulated using CST Microwave Studio. The antenna covers the UWB spectrum from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz, and had a return loss below than -10 dB throughout the entire band. The basic antenna analysis has been done including the analysis of antenna performance due to antenna width tuning. A compact antenna area of 70 x 80 mm2 is obtained. The material used is FR-4 epoxy glass substrate that has dielectric constant, r = 4.4 and the dielectric thickness; h = 1.6mm. The antenna also gives omni-directional radiation characteristics with reasonable gain values over the same frequency ban

The stability of corporate sector is definitely related to the prominent firms’ conditions, where both inner and outer factor played a significant role in enhancing the value proportion in sustaining the existence. Although many was conducted in the outer part in the corporate sector, however, less attention was apparently being given to the internal point where professional and moral basis is needed for further exploration in giving insights into corporate sustainability. This chapter attempts to examine the insightful value of professional competence and moral responsibility to give the significant point in disseminating the enhancement of corporate sustainability. The literature review was carefully conducted from the referred articles: journals, books and conference proceedings on the related topic. The finding reveals that the insightful value of professional competence and moral responsibility in advancing the corporate sustainability could be achieved in particular point through industry and university alliance. The basis of this alliance of both could give insights into incorporating the particular model of strategic partnership along with the corporate social responsibility. Engaged through the higher education (HE) together with firm involvement, this aim refers to advance in achieving the quality balance on corporate social responsibility. As such, this study is expected to contribute in advancing the research development agenda on enhancing strategic partnership assigned between professional competences together with moral responsibility

An improvement on redundancy to achieve high compression ratio in video coding is developed. Block Matching Motion Estimation (BMME) techniques have been particularly used in various coding standards. In the BMME, search patterns with different shapes or sizes and the center-biased characteristics of motion vector (MV) have large impact on the search speed (search points) and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) as the quality of video images. These basic algorithms are Full Search and other two fast search methods. The Cross Diamond Search (CDS) algorithm was designed to fit the cross-center-biased (CCB) MV distribution characteristics of the real-world video sequences. CDS compares favorably with the other algorithms for low motion sequences in terms of speed, quality and computational complexity
