Assessing the Effectiveness of Public Sector Enterprises Reforms on Growth and Performances of Steel Authority of india LTD
Purpose: The study focussed to understand the reforms that influenced the performance of the PSEs in India with a special focus on SAIL, to analyse the role played by the reforms taken in a public enterprise in increasing the performance of SAIL and to examine the significance of such reforms in increasing the effectiveness of public sector enterprises.
Theoretical Framework: This assessment, the performance of the public sector enterprises of India is going to be discussed in reference to the reforms made by the Government of India with reference to the SAIL (SAIL, 2023).
Design/Methodology/Approach: The research topic has been talking about the reforms that have been made in Steel Authority of India Limited which would require quantitative data from various sources and then its analysis.
Findings: The government changed its economic policy in the year 1991 and thus made provision for the privatization of non-profit making public sector enterprises (Kunmin and Panchanatham, 2019). SAIL was among the profit-making PSUs of India as it is the largest steel producer in the country.
Conclusion: Article reveals that the research aimed to provide an assessment of the impact of reforms on the growth and performance of PSEs like âSteel Authority of India Limitedâ
The Role of Customer Satisfaction in Improving the Performance of Sail (Steel Authority of India LTD)
Purpose: The study focussed on the influence of customer satisfaction on reform policies and the performance of SAIL and attempts to investigate the influence of reform policies in improving the performance of SAIL (De, 2014).
Theoretical Framework: Research examined the moderating role of customer satisfaction between reform policies and the performance of SAIL. A conceptual model with two hypotheses was developed and data were collected from 385 employees and managerial staff in the form of a questionnaire from five integrated units of SAIL (Jain et al., 2014).
Design/Methodology/Approach: Paper goes through the quantitative and qualitative discussion to analyse the performance of SAIL against the backdrop of liberalization measures introduced in the 1990s and afterward. The study will analyse two different periods of SAIL: Before 1990 and after 1990.
Findings: The findings of the study provide useful insights to evaluate and improve SAIL's reform policies and performance and to enhance customer satisfaction.
Conclusion: Article paves the way to huge scope for future researchers. The scope of the study can be further broadened by including several PSEs across multiple industries to gain comprehensive findings about the impact of reforms on the performance of different types of PSEs
International marriage migration: The predicament of culture and its negotiations
Marriage-led migration or migration-led marriage was rarely discussed in public or private realms just over two decades ago. However, international marriage migration (IMM) has become a norm in today's globalised world. While a substantial body of literature deals with this growing practice, existing literature does not adequately address the role that ethnicity plays in the context of IMM. The purpose of this study is to explore the question of ethnicity in IMM in Southeast Asian contexts. It focusses on what we have called the âpredicament of ethnicityâ and the negotiations around ethnicity, culture and identity among couples where at least one partner migrated for the purpose of the marriage. The study is based on interviews with international couples selected using a snowball sampling method and demonstrates complex and intriguing patterns of cultural and ethnic identity negotiations between international Southeast Asian couples
Influence of Quench Rates on the Properties of Rapidly Solidified FeNbCuSiB Alloy
FeNbCuSiB based materials were produced in the form of ribbons by rapid solidification techniques. The crystallization, magnetic, mechanical and corrosion behaviour were studied for the prepared materials as
a function of quenching rate from liquid to the solid state. Higher quench rates produced a more amorphous
structure exhibiting superior soft magnetic properties with improved corrosion resistance
The COVID-19 Pandemic and the âstrandedâ Migrant Population: An Unequal pain
This article aims to determine the vulnerability of migrant populations to COVID-19. Between March 2020 and November 2021, informal interviews with respondents who were stranded in various parts of the world were conducted through Skype and WhatsApp. COVID-19 endangers millions of individuals who were stranded between their homes and their destinations â and who were compelled to reside in overcrowded accommodation where the ideas of "stay home," "keep safe," and "social distancing" have little significance
Electrical, Magnetic and Electrochemical Behaviour of Nanocrystalline Fe70.5Nb4.5Cu1Si16B8 Alloy
The electrical, magnetic and electrochemical behaviour of Fe70.5Nb..5CuiSi,638 has been studied in the as-received and heat treated conditions. The as-received material was amorphous which crystallized in two different stages at 780K and 940K when heated continuously. At the primary crystallization stage, nanometre sized grain of ordered FesoSi20 phase was formed. The superior soft magnetic properties were achieved after primary crystall-ization which were attributed to the averaging out of magnetocrystalline anisotropy due to the nanocrystalline structure and the reduction of magnetoelastic anisotropy energy due to the negative magnetosirictive nature of
Fe8oSi20 phase and positive magnetosirictive value of the rest amorphous phase. After primary crystallization spon-taneous passivating nature of the alloy is also observed in electrochemical study
Fatigue crack growth retardation in an HSLA steel in benign environments
The crack growth and closure were examined for fatigue loading of an HSLA steel in non-corroding media. R and ÎK dependent significant crack growth retardation was observed in NaOH. Presence of a passive film at high R and self repair of the film and formation of an additional oxide layer at low R could explain the retardation

Effect of plasma ion implantation on the hydrogen embrittlement of Cu strengthened HSLA-100 steel
The effect of low dosage plasma ion implantation on hydrogen embrittlement was studied for an HSLA steel using notched tensile samples. The plasma treatment caused an enhancement in the linear strain to failure under embrittling conditions. This was however not reflected in the fracture surfaces of the treated samples which had similar fractographic features as those of untreated samples. The plasma treatment delayed the process of embrittlement without causing any alteration in the basic mechanism of embrittlement. This was due to introduction of residual compressive stresses as well as reduction in the hydrogen permeation flux. Implantation in pure nitrogen seemed most beneficial while implantation in pure argon caused very little improvement
