Appl. Stat.,7(2013),523]. in blocks of data obtained from multi-source data. For two data blocks, assume that each data blocks is a matrix of size (p ร— n),(q ร— n) and written as X = vZ + E with a significant random row vector signal Z with rank 1 represented by a loading vector v, and a noise matrix, E. While Feng, et al.[J.Multivar.Anal.,166(2018),241-265] define the distance of signals as the principal angle, we define the measure of closeness of signals as the square of cosine principal angle. Assuming that each sample of a significant signals follows iid bivariate normal, a test of the joint signal rank selection is proposed using the fact that the closeness measure of the significant signals follows Beta( 1/2,nโˆ’1/2). In addition, we estimate unobservable v and significant signals Z by using the fact that from the form of the data block, v is the maximal eigenvector of the covariance matrix, Var(X1), where X1 is the first column of X. Replacing the unobservable Z by the predictions Zห†, we develop a largesample test procedure for the rank of the joint signal. In the simulation study, this asymptotic test is compared to the joint structure rank selection process of Feng, et al.[J.Multivar.Anal.,166(2018),241-265], called AJIVE. Simulation results show that this asymptotic test is similar to AJIVEs joint rank selection in performance. Crime prevention has been recognized in recent years as a major challenge that governments must successfully deal with. Public administration has witnessed discussions on neighborhood disorder after facing the increasing trends of heinous crimes. This study empirically analyzes the Broken Window Theory that neighborhood disorder increases crime and decreases social capital. The present study also examines the effects of crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED). A survey of 706 residents in Seoul and Kyounggi area was conducted. The survey measured individual perceptions of CPTED, crime prevention governance, neighborhood disorder, crime, and social capital. The major findings of this study are that the effective CPTED tends to reduce neighborhood disorder and enhance social capital. In the face of the stark reality that only education and certifications are considered important in Korea's labor market, we attempted to devise a measure to enhance the rationality of the labor market. More specifically, we developed and applied practical tools needed for competency-based recruitment system to enhance the efficiency of securing human resources, and to support participants in the labor market in their search for and selection of jobs. We selected three types of jobs, given the importance of the jobs and the number of people employed in each one. These jobs are in business management, production management in the manufacturing industry, and a clerical job in the financial industry. We conducted competency modeling for the three types of jobs by using existing approaches at home and abroad. To take advantage of these efforts, we developed recruitment tools including competency-based application form, competency tests, and competency-based interviews and investigated suitability of each.
