This study aims to verify this assertion by using Mozarts Sonata in D major for Two Pianos k.448 as background music to test whether listening to it increases reading comprehension among learners of Korean as a second language. An experiment was performed on 24 learners by dividing them into two groups of 12. The control group was asked to fulfill 10 reading comprehension tests with no background music, and the experimental group was asked to fulfill the same 10 tests with the Mozart Sonata as background music. The statistical analysis found that the Mozart Sonata k.448 had no significant influence on the reading comprehension of the Korean language learners participating in this experimental study

This paper is attempt to show the development process and principles of the two-volumed textbooks Learning Korean through Proverbs 1&2, which the author has published. These two volumes are the first specialized textbooks that use proverbs as their material. The paper has made survey analyses on how foreign learners(esp. Chinese students) of Korean infer meanings out of Korean proverbs, while not being taught any of them, and on the representation of Korean proverbs in a widely-used Korean language textbook. These analyses clearly show the need for teaching Korean proverbs to learners of Korean as a second or foreign language and for developing specialized textbooks using proverbs. Then the author mentions his principles of developing the textbooks, including the aims and the criteria of selecting proverbsm composing reading texts to show real usage of the proverbsm representing information on Korean culture having associations with them, etc. He shows a list of the whole 103 proverbs, idiomatic expressions and cultural items connected with the proverbs and then provides a sample chapter out of the books to present the concrete make-up and contents of the textbooks
Teaching the Korean Grammar in East Europe
Every learner of a foreign language wants to command the target language as
fluently as a native speaker of it. Even thought the prevailing foreign language
teaching theory puts its emphasis on the increase of the communicative language teaching of the learner, it is inevitable to teach and learn the grammar of the target language so that the learner may use the language accurately.
This paper looks into the history, current situations and the curricula of Korean
studies in central and east European universities, their peculiarities and then, more specifically, the curriculum of Korean studies and the Korean grammar teaching at Sofia University, Bulgaria This paper shows that the Korean grammar teaching takes a very important part in the curricula and that it has a more practical application rather than a theoretical one
