(An) Analytical Study on Schumann's 'Album for the Young'
Robert Alexander Schumann (1810-1856), one of the representative composers who had most well expressed the core of Romantic music in the said age, transmitted to us, experience tells me a number of his unique piano music, especially Character Pieces; and, among which his "Album for the Young", mainly consisted of two or three-part form of brief and short pieces, could have been quite beneficial, in this study, to our proper understanding of what cheif characteristics of his music go into the worth of our concern especially in relation to his contribution to Romantic music.
Analysis of some pieces of "Album" that best represented Schumann tells that there occur a number of mostly short or brief but repetitive clauses and phrases in them; that, as for rhythm, syncopation is often employed, positions of stress are highly irregular, staccato and legato are prevalently used, and also contrast is frequently made use of; and, that, in their melody, a technique of counterpoint is prevailing in general, the transitional chord and non- harmonic tone by chromatic progress appear so often, and the transition in mode is also frequently practised.
Therefore, it may be safely said that Schumann is a highly appraisable contributor t o Romantic music who developed such elaborate musical craftmanship of new technique as to follow traditional formality but also characteristics of romantic freedom at the same time.;본 논문의 연구목적은 낭만시대의 작곡가인 Robert Alexander Schumann (1810∼1856)의 「Album for the Young」 Op. 68의 작품분석을 통하여 낭만음악의 특성을 이해하는 데 있다.
Schumann은 낭만음악을 잘 표현한 작곡가로서 특히 성격적 소품(Character Piece)의 피아노음악을 많이 남겼다. 그 중 「Album for the Young」은 주로 2부분 형식과 3부분 형식의 짧은 악곡들로 구성되어 있으며, Schumann 자신의 음악적 특징이 잘 나타난 곡이라 생각되어 이 곡을 논문의 소재로 선택하였다.
본 논문에서는 Schumann의 작곡 기법과 낭만음악의 일반적인 특징을 알기 위하여 관계 문헌들과 전문 음악 잡지를 참고하여 「Album for the Young」의 전체 43곡 중 낭만적인 음악의 특징과 Schumann 음악의 특징이 잘 나타나있는 10곡을 분석하였다. 그 결과 곡의 대부분이 짧고 간단하면서도 반복된 악구와 악절이 많음을 알 수 있게 되었다. 리듬에 있어서는 당김음이 많고, 강약의 위치는 대부분 불규칙적이며, 스타카토와 레가토를 빈번히 사용하여 서로 대조를 이루는 곳도 많음을 알 수 있었다. 선율은 대위적인 수법에 의한 것이 많이 보여지며, 반음계적인 진행으로 인한 변화화음과 비화음성음이 자주 나타나고, 전조 또한 자주 이루어지고 있다.
이렇게 전통적인 음악 형식을 따르면서도 낭만적인 자유로움을 그 속에 담아 새로운 음악 발전에 기여했던 Schumann은 기교적인 면에서도 새로운 기술을 개발한 작곡가로서 낭만주의 음악에 기여한 공로가 크다 하겠다.목차 = Ⅲ

Correlation of plasma homocysteine and mitochondrial DNA content in peripheral blood in healthy women
Hyperhomocysteinemia is an independent risk factor of cardiovascular disease and associated with insulin resistance, although their causal relationship remains unclear. A previous report has shown that high concentration of homocysteine damages mitochondrial gene expression, function and structure. As we found recently, the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) contents are inversely correlated with insulin resistance parameters. Thus there is possibility that plasma total homocysteine (tHcy) level is somewhat correlated with mtDNA content. Sixty healthy women (mean age 40.3±20.9 yr, range 18-78 yr) were recruited to investigate the correlation of plasma tHcy level and mtDNA content in peripheral blood. A significant negative correlation was found between plasma tHcy levels and mtDNA content (r=-0.507, P<0.01). Plasma tHcy and mtDNA content have an independent effect on each other and on insulin resistance (HOMA-insulin resistance (IR) score) respectively in multiple regression model. Plasma tHcy showed positive correlations with age (r=0.407), W/H ratio (r=0.370), total cholesterol (r=0.338), LDL-cholesterol (r=0.317) and insulin resistance (HOMA-IR score) (r=0.261); and a negative correlation with folate (r=-0.273). MtDNA content showed negative correlations with age (r=-0.407), BMI (r=-0.440), W/H ratio (r=-0.659), SBP (r=-0.350), total cholesterol (r=-0.340), triglyceride (r=-0.376), LDL-cholesterol (r=-0.349), fasting plasma insulin (r=-0.483), and insulin resistance (HOMA-IR score) (r=-0.423); and a positive correlation with folate (r=0.299). In this study, there was a significant inverse correlation between plasma tHcy level and mtDNA content. Further study will be warranted to elucidate the mechanism by which two factors are associated. © 2001 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved
Effect of exercise on the mitochondrial DNA content of peripheral blood in healthy women
Exercise decreases insulin resistance and increases maximal exercise capacity as estimated from maximal oxygen uptake ((V) over dotO(2max)). Recent reports have demonstrated that the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) content of blood is correlated with (V) over dotO(2max) in healthy subjects (mean age 31 years) and is inversely correlated with insulin resistance parameters, The aim of this study was to determine the effect of regular exercise on the mtDNA content in the peripheral blood of 16 healthy young women of mean age 24.8 (SD 6.2) years and 14 healthy older women of mean age 66.7 (SD 5.8) years. The exercise programme lasted for 10 weeks and consisted of three sessions a week, each of 1 h and aiming to attain 60%-80% of (V) over dotO(2max). The mtDNA content of peripheral blood was measured by competitive polymerase chain reaction. The (V) over dotO(2max) had significantly increased following the exercise programme [from 33.1 (SD 3.4) to 35.2 (SD 3.4) ml . kg(-1) . min(-1) in the young and from 34.3 (SD 5.3) to 30.3 (SD 7.3) ml . kg(-1) . min(-1) in the older women, both P < 0.05]. Exercise decreased systolic blood pressure, and concentrations of triglyceride, low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), glucose and insulin in the blood of the young and of total cholesterol, LDL-C and glucose in that of the older women. High density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) in the young women was increased by exercise. The mtDNA content significantly increased following the exercise programme in both groups [from 27.1 (SD 17.9) to 52.7 (SD 44.6) amol . 5 ng(-1) genomic DNA in the young and from 15.3 (SD 10.2) to 32.1 (SD 30.0) amol . 5 ng(-1) genomic DNA in the older women, both P < 0.05]. There was a significant positive correlation between the change in mtDNA content and the change in (V) over dotO(2max) (r = 0.74 in the young and r = 0.71 in the older women, both P < 0.01). In conclusion, 10 weeks of moderate intensity, regular exercise increased the mtDNA content in peripheral blood and decreased insulin resistance parameters, This data suggests that increase in the mtDNA content may be associated with increased insulin sensitivity
The Effect of Consumer Psychological Characteristics and Service Attributes on Usage Satisfaction of Sharing Economy Services: A Study of Car Sharing, Room Sharing and Childrens Goods Sharing
본 연구는 차량, 숙박, 유아용품 공유를 포함한 다양한 공유서비스의 실제 이용자들을 대상으로 하여 이들 공유서비스들 간의 소비자 특성과 서비스속성 지각에서의 차이점 및 공통점이 무엇인가를 분석하였다. 나아가 공유서비스 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 서비스 속성 및 소비자특성으로 나누어 실증분석을 하였다. 또한 각 공유서비스 유형별로 만족도 영향요인이 무엇인가를 새롭게 조명하였다. 본 연구의 공헌은 첫째, 국내 공유서비스 시장에서 실제 이용자들을 대상으로 참여의사가 아닌 이용만족도 영향 요인을 분석하였다는 점이다. 둘째, 다양한 공유서비스를 망라한 공유서비스 만족도 영향 요인을 제시하였다는 점이다. 이를 통해 한 종류의 공유경제 서비스 이용자를 대상으로 한 결과를 전체 공유경제 서비스 이용자로 확장하여 해석하는 오류를 방지하였다. 셋째, 공유서비스 유형별로 만족도 영향 요인을 비교 제시하였다는 점이다. 이러한 연구는 아직까지 이루어지지 않았다는 점에서 그 의의가 크다. 넷째, 서비스 속성과 소비자의 심리적 특성 변수를 모두 포함하여 만족도 영향 요인을 새롭게 제시했다는 점이다. 본 연구 결과는 공유서비스 관련 업계의 마케팅 담당자들이나 예비 창업자들이 소비자의 특성과 만족도 영향 요인을 파악하는 데 도움을 줄 것이다.
This research examined the role of consumer psychological characteristics and service attributes in affecting usage satisfaction with car sharing, room sharing and childrens goods sharing. This research first compared the consumer psychological characteristics and service attributes across three types of shared services (i.e., car sharing, room sharing, and childrens goods sharing). Then, the study examined the effect of the two groups of factors (i.e., consumer psychological characteristics and service attributes) on usage satisfaction, with data collected from surveys of actual users of the shared services. In addition, the study examined how the three services differ in terms of the factors that affect usage satisfaction. Towards this end, experience attributes of the three types of services were studied, which were economy, convenience and social value. This is in contrast to prior studies which focused on the search attributes of the shared services. Regarding psychological variables, community orientation, patience, innovative tendency, status-seeking tendency, altruistic tendency and environmental concern were included in the study. Data was collected from users of shared services in Korea. The sample target were actual users of shared services, aged between 20 and 50 years of age. Quota sampling by gender and age was employed and a total of 578 respondents were collected. The survey was conducted through an online survey through a marketing research company called Embrain. Potential respondents were first asked whether they had experienced the three shared services (car sharing, room sharing and childrens goods sharing), and only those who answered positive were allowed to participate. Of the 578 people in the sample, 181 people experienced all three services, 216 people experienced two services, and 181 people experienced only one service.
Results showed that psychological characteristics of consumers were similar among the three shared-service user groups, except for status-seeking tendency: users of car sharing showed the highest status-seeking tendency, while users of childrens goods sharing showed the lowest status-seeking tendency. Regarding factors affecting usage satisfaction, it was shown (in the pooled data) that economy, convenience and social value all lead to greater satisfaction. However, in separate analysis by type of shared service, there were differences. For car sharing, social value, convenience and age affected usage satisfaction; for room sharing, economy, environmental concern and age affected usage satisfaction; and for childrens goods sharing, economy, patience and age affected usage satisfaction. Summing up, economy was the most important variable affecting usage satisfaction. Age was also an important factor with different effects: younger age led to greater satisfaction for car and room sharing, but older age led to greater satisfaction for childrens goods sharing.
The contribution of the study can be summarized as follows. First, actual users were studied, allowing the examination of experience attributes. Second, it was shown that factors affecting satisfaction differed by the type of service, which alludes to the dangers of generalizing a single-industry study to all shared services. Third, the factors influencing satisfaction for each type of shared service were compared and contrasted. Fourth, both service attributes and consumer psychological characteristics were studied as determinants of usage satisfaction. Also, the study presented new psychological variables, such as patience, that were hitherto ignored in the literature. The results of this study should have implications for marketers and prospective entrepreneurs in the sharing economy in gaining a better understanding of factors leading to usage satisfaction.N
Review and empirical analysis on factors influencing purchase intention of electric vehicles in Korea: The role of consumer psychological characteristics
전기차 소비 확산을 위해서는 전기차 구매에 영향을 미치는 요인은 무엇인지, 소비자들이 전기차를 어떻게 지각하고 있는 지에 대한 이해가 필요하다. 본 연구는 먼저 전기차 구매의사 영향요인에 대한 기존 문헌을 리뷰한 후에 한국 소비자들 565명을 대상으로 실증분석을 하였다. 전기차 구매에 영향을 미치는 요인, 특히 소비자의 심리적 특성의 영향 요인인 개인의 차에 대한 인식, 친환경성향, 혁신성향, 주행거리불안, 전기차에 대한 주관적 지식 수준이 구매의도에 미치는 영향을 리뷰하고 분석하였다.
실증 연구결과, 한국의 소비자들은 연령이 높을수록, 교육수준이 높을수록, 소득수준이 높을수록 전기차 구매의사가 높았으며, 성별은 유의한 차이가 없었다. 심리적 특성에서는 친환경성향이 높을수록, 혁신성향이 높을수록, 전기차에 대한 주관적으로 느끼는 지식수준이 높을수록, 전기차 구매의사가 높았다. 또한 친환경성향과 혁신성향은 높은 상관관계를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 주행거리불안이 높을 수록 전기차 구매의사는 낮았지만, 주행거리불안이 현재 사용차량의 일일사용시간 및 연간사용량과는 무관하다는 결과를 놓고 볼 때 주행거리불안이 객관적 실체보다는 정서적 예측 오류일 수 있음을 시사한다.
본 연구는 한국 시장에서 전기차 구매의사에 영향을 미치는 심리적 특성 변수들의 영향을 분석하였다는 점에서 그 이론적 공헌이 있다.
In order to increase consumption of electric cars, it is necessary to understand what factors affect the purchase of electric cars and how consumers perceive electric cars. This study first reviewed existing literature on the influence factors of electric vehicle purchase intention, and then conducted an empirical analysis of 565 Korean consumers. The effect of perception of a cars functions, environmental concern, consumer innovativeness, range anxiety, and knowledge level on purchase intention was studied.
Results of the empirical study show that age, income and education level have a positive influence on purchase intention of electric cars, while gender did not show any effect. With respect to psychological characteristics, the study reveals that environmental concern, consumer innovativeness, and knowledge on electric cars have a positive influence on the purchase intention of electric cars. Also, it was found that consumers environmental concern and innovativeness have high correlation. Finally, it is shown that predicted range anxiety is deemed higher when compared to the actual usage behavior, suggesting a failure of affect forecasting.
