research study reported in this dissertation examined the effects of shiftwork characteristics, private lives on work-life conflict on job satisfaction, sleep disturbance, and fatigue of hospital nurses (working three shifts). This study was conducted using a cross-sectional design and data were collected from nurses who worked in three shifts in four general hospitals in G and D areas of Korea. A total 271 data points were collected from nurses working in five different nurse units (medical ward, surgical ward, intensive care unit, emergency room and nursing care integrated services ward). Data collection occurred between August 29 to September 25, 2019, through nurse questionnaires and shift schedules of units. The standard shiftwork index and previous studies questionnaires were used to measure the nurses shiftwork characteristics, private lives, job satisfaction, sleep disturbance, and fatigue. The work-life conflict scale was used to measure the nurses work-life conflict. The results were as follows. First, the shiftwork characteristics of nurses consisted of working hours, shift patterns, nurses staffing adequacy, shiftwork control, and shift instability. average working hours per week was 45.38 (ยฑ4.55) hours, average number of over 40-hour working weeks in a month was 2.02 (ยฑ0.98), average unsocial working hours per week was 30.65 (ยฑ5.33) hours, the ratio of unsocial working hours per week to working hours per week was 67.54%, and overtime work was 0.53 (ยฑ0.56) hours. Among the shift patterns, the frequency of average shifts in a month was shown in order of day, evening, and night shifts. The number of maximum consecutive shifts between days off during 3 months was 6.59 (ยฑ2.01) days and the number of average unhealthy shift patterns in a month was 4.36 (ยฑ2.39). The frequency of unhealthy patterns was shown in order of working more than 3 consecutive night shifts, returning to work without 48-hour resting after night shifts, and working more than 5 consecutive days in 3 shifts. The nurses staffing adequacy was 100%, but there was a big difference in each wards staffing degree. There was a low level of shiftwork control, and shift instability was below average. In private lives, the amount of time spent on housework or child rearing on holidays was higher than on working days. More than half of the working nurses received domestic help. Structural constraint were the highest in leisure constraints. The work interference with life was higher than the life interference with work in nurses work-life conflict. Job satisfaction level was below average, and the level of sleep disturbance and fatigue were moderate. Second, the differences in shiftwork characteristics according to nurses age group showed that the 20s group had more working hours per week, and worked night and evening shifts compared to the 30s group. The level of nurses staffing adequacy was, in ascending order, intensive care unit, emergency room / nursing care integrated services ward, and medical / surgical ward. Differences in home demands in nurses private lives were shown according to nurses age group, that is, above 40s, 30s, and 20s. The above-40s group spent more time in housework or child rearing than the 20s and 30s group. Third, factors influencing on work-life conflict were control of the specific start & finish time, swap shifts with colleagues, nurses staffing adequacy, and leisure constraints. Fourth, in terms of work-life conflict and work interference with life affected all dependent variables. Life interference with work only affected sleep disturbance and fatigue. Based on this results, it is necessary to operate flexible shift patterns depends on individual life patterns. However, before the flexible shift patterns is implemented, working environment with a variety of shift patterns options should be established first. The degree of swap shifts with collegues was related with nurses staffing adequacy. Therefore, one of solutions is to increase the level of addition and subtraction of nursing management fee for proper nurses staffing level. Also, appropriate compensation and specific working conditions should be supported to maintain the nurses staffing adequacy. In October 2019, the Ministry of Health and Welfare provided a guideline for the night shifts for nurses. In addition, detailed guidelines for shiftwork nurses should be prepared. It is necessary to establish specific systems and policies to identify and solve problems that arise when structural constraints such as working three shiftwork emerge. The results from this study are meaningful because data on both objective and perceived shiftwork characteristics were obtained. [์˜๋ฌธ] Currently in the otologic field, there are various methods of audiometric examinations such as pure and speech and impedance. A few studies has been done in these fields in Korea. The purpose of this paper is to establish norms and the relationship of norms of various audiometric tests, so I have performed the tests in 100 male medical students and 50 female medical and nursing students in healthy physical condition and the following results were obtained. 1. The mean of the PTA(Pure Tone Average) was 4dB on the male right, 3dB on the male left, 4d8 on the female right, 2dB on the female left and the mean of the SRT(Speech Reception Threshold) was 4dB, 3dB, 3dB, 3dB, respectively. 2. The mean of the MCL(Most Confrotable Loudness) was 45dB on the male right, 46dB on the male left, 45dB on the female right, 44dB on the female left. 3. The mean of the UCL(Uncomfortable Loudness) was 102dB on the male right, 102dB on the male left, 103dB on the female right, 102dB on the female left. We had trouble in estimating the UCL in about half the cases as we could not estimate the UCL with our conventional audiometer. 4. All cases showed over 90% in the PB Score and 100% was the most common level. 5. SISI(Short Increment Sensitivity Index) test was done at 1,000 and 4,000Hz. The most common level was O% and above 80% was not seen. 6. TD(Tone Decay) test was done at 2,000 and 4,000 Hz. The most common level was 0dB and above 20dB was not seen. 7. Tympanogram was A type with one exception which was 8 type on the male left. 8. The mean of the tympanogram peak level was 22.8 mmH^^2O on the male right, 23.9 mmH^^2O on the male left, 20.7 mmH^^2O on the female right, 23.6 mmH^^2O on the female left and the mean of static compliance was 0.6cc on all sides. 9. The mean of the contralateral stapedial reflex threshold at 500, 1,000, 2,000, 4,000 Hz was 89dB, 85dB, 88dB, 92dB on the male right, 89dB, 85dB, 89dB. 91dB on the male left, 90dB, 86dB, 89dB, 93dB on the female right, 89dB, 85dB, 89dB, 91dB on the female left. Depending on the tested frequencies, the stapedial reflex was not generated in 2.25% on the male, 1.75% on the female. 10. The mean of the ipsilatetal stapedial reflex threshold at 1,000, 2,000Hz was 87dB, 90dB on the male right, 87dB, 88dB on the male left, 89dB, 91dB on the female right, 87dB, 90dB on the female left. Depending on the tested frequencies, the stapedial reflex was not generated in 0.75% on the male, 0.5% on the female. 11. Eustachian tube function using the impedance audiometer malfunctioned in 7.5% of the cases. The mean difference between the peak level in the resting state and the peak level at inflation (+250mmH^^2O ), deflation (-250mmH^^2O ) was 8mmH^^2O, 14mmH^^2O on the male right, 9mmH^^2O, 12mmH^^2O on the male left, 9mmH^^2O, 13mmH^^2O on the female right, 9mmH^^2O, 13mmH^^2O on the female left. 12. The mean difference between the SRT and the PTA was -1dB on the male right, 0dB on the male left, -1dB on the female right, OdB on the female left. 13. The mean difference between the MCL and the SRT was 42dB on the male right, 43dB on the male left. 42dB on the female right, 42dB on the female left. 14. The mean dynamic range was 98dB on the male right, 99dB on the male left, 99dB on the female right, 100dB on the female left. 15. The mean of the contralateral stapedial reflex threshold(Sensation Level) at 500, 1,000, 2,000, 4,000Hz was 84dB, 87dB, 80dB, 87dB on the male right, 84dB, 87dB, 84dB, 87dB on the male left, 85dB, 87dB, 80dB, 88dB on the female right, 85dB, 90dB, 85dB, 88dB on the female left. 16.
